I am awfully sorry, but I have to point at a mistake in the latest news item from the AP editorial office in Valls. Actually, the decision to provide the funds to Ebria was backed by one clearly conservative party and two slightly conservative parties. And also by the Anarcho-Collectivists, by the way.

I emphasise that I have much respect for AP as a neutral news source basing itself on facts. However, everybody sometimes makes a mistake, also the best among us. That in itself is not a problem, only the mistake needs to be corrected.

Despite the hostile rhetoric, trade flourishes is Occidentia

While it would be expected that the rivalry and cold relationship between the Confederation and Entre Rios and the People's State of Gran Occidéntia, to which one adds the 7 Day War in Monterrey that brought the creation of the province of Tapenagá and the Free State of Los Altos, would gravely affect the trade and commerce within the southern continent in the Western Hemisphere, recent developments show how much of this rivalry is kept solely in the rhetoric, while on the ground, trade flourishes and reached pre-2021 levels, when the diplomatic relations between Callao and Puerto Angeles collapsed and led to the 7 Day War.

Despite the construction of significant port facilities on the southern coasts of Nueva Bética and the port city of Puerto Florida in Los Altos, to connect the newly proclaimed independent state with Entre Rios through the Bahía de la Plata, so that it would ensure that truckers avoid cross the Tapenagá, it seems that border crossing through the late Monterrey are at an all time high too, with the city of Embarcadero, the sole capital city in the world to be divided, seeing more than half a million border crossings.

While the border between Tapenagá and Los Altos becomes easier to cross, the border between Entre Rios and Gran Occidentia starts to see more and more crossings and trade between the two countries. With the rise in the price of oil, with prices stabilising at around 110 to 120 EM when Tarusa was initially withholding production, prices did rise to even 140 EM when the war in Aresura was waged and this offered a boon to the economies of Cantigny, the Federation of Westernesse and Entre Rios. Thus, the latter has become one of the main suppliers in Occidentia of petrol products, leading to a trade boom between the Confederation on one side and Gran Occidentia and Los Altos on the other. With the war ending and prices going down to 120 EM, it remains to be seen if these new economic links are set to resist, but even so, by now, the ports in Embarcadero are the main entry points for fuel in the whole of Gran Occidentia, making the Acahay Highway, crossing Tapenaga and into Gran Occidentia one of the most important and strategic routes for the People's State.​
