Serenien and Aurarian Health Institutions Partner to Combat STDs and HIV/AIDS
AP Monserans
Today, the Hopital de St. Bernard and the University of Solis Medical Center (CMUS) announced that they would be joining forces to expand research and health services for STDs with a particular focus on HIV/AIDS.
Ten years ago, CMUS initiated its Autoriza! program which aimed to expand health services to vulnerable populations across the Republic. The program opened “One-Stop Centers” designed to offer primary, educational, and preventative health care. The first center, which opened in Solis and served around 200 individuals a month expanded to more than thirty-seven centers across the country, serving thousands of patients annually and providing tens of thousands of confidential, safe testing at no cost.
The Serenien Hopital de St. Bernard gained a reputation of being one of the premier medical research institutes in Gallia. The Hospital’s claim to fame is its work with Stem Cell research, pushing the boundaries of what has the potential of being a groundbreaking field of medical research. CMUS’ experience with treatment combined with St. Bernard’s talents with research were a “natural fit” to addressing the issues of STDs, especially HIV/AIDS.
The CMUS Executive Director reportedly spent several days in Serenierre meeting with medical and government officials to discuss ways of enhancing collaboration and strengthening strategies to combat the public health crisis.
While meeting with several health officials in Monserans, the two representatives from CMUS and St. Bernard signed a multi-year Cooperation Agreement. The agreement, the first of its kind for the two institutions, outlines two specific areas of support and collaboration, the first being to improve preventative efforts in the two countries and the second is to combine and coordinate research. Using the generous financial support offered by St. Bernard, CMUS announced that it would expand its “One Stop Center” program into Serenierre by opening clinics in Monserans, Villemarne, Villesen, and Ardeche. CMUS and St. Bernard have also announced that they will be sending medical staff to West Occitania to assist in providing necessary services to the war torn nation.
The institutions have expressed combined interests in increasing distribution of Preventä. The Drug is advertised as a pill-a-day program that significantly reduces the risk of HIV transmission. CMUS has worked on limited integration of the medication into its free medical services, but claimed that financial resources have strained the institution’s ability to provide the service. That changed with the signing of the Cooperation Agreement. Now, CMUS has stated that the combined efforts will allow it to offer free Prevent prescriptions across its facilities in Auraria as well as the ones it will open in Serenierre.
“This crisis goes beyond borders,” the CMUS Exec Director stated “I am thrilled that this agreement is signed and I am excited to see what good work we can do over the next years. I invite any institution to join this effort.”
