Early Reports From Scene Say "Survivors Unlikely"
Dunrobin - An Aerolíneas de Palma (known colloquially as Palm Airlines in Beautancus) Dash-8 International Flight with at least 80 souls onboard crashed in the northeastern Narhontes Swamp, approximately 40 miles northwest of Dunrobin on Monday, after losing all radio contact for nearly half an hour beforehand. Initial reports from investigators and local media indicate that the possibility of survivors is "extremely unlikely."
One of the most common airframes seen in Beautancus' southeastern skies, the Josefino-based Palm Airlines Dash-8 involved in the crash "has one of the best records in the fleet," according to a spokesperson for Dunrobin International. No statement on the flight has been made available from the Costa Ron Airport, from which Flight 213 lifted off, or from Brunswick International Airport where it was scheduled to land later this afternoon.
A joint statement from Palm Airlines and the Dunrobin Territorial Trust has been scheduled for 2000 EST, with both declining further statements until then, other than to say "Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of those lost in the crash."
Investigators from numerous Public Trusts were reportedly already on site, perhaps most conspicuously including a team from the Sovereignty-wide Narco-Commerce Oversight Commission (NOC) fueling early rumors and conspiracy theories of some connection to the illicit trade in foreign narcotics being involved in the crash, though no official comment on this has been available- and likely will not be, should this be the case.
Updates on this story will be made immediately upon the release of further information by investigators or Palm Airlines.
