The Islamic Union of the Jurzan
Despite the blatant lack of professional and overabundance of baseless derogatory remakes from President Rygaard, the Islamic Union will respond in a professional manner with the hopes of clearing up the misconceptions held by the President.
First and foremost, The Kingdom of Danmark has been a constant defender of the interests of the Jurzani people and has always fought on our side, especially in the times that they were needed most. The Kingdom has not taken advantage of the Islamic Union in any way, and we are proud to say that our ties with them are being increased with each coming day. No nation has done more for the Union Government than the Kingdom of Danmark and for that reason; our two nations are allied and will fight for each other whenever the need arises.
Secondly, it was neither the intention of ICPEN nor the Jurzan to drastically increase oil prices with the intention of profiting at others’ expense. ICPEN was created with the intention of providing stability to the oil markets considering its importance to our economies. With ICPEN in place, the oil producing countries can coordinate efforts that benefit not only ourselves, but all nations. Without ICPEN, oil prices would change continuously as the oil producers continuously attempt to undermine each other in order to gain the upper hand.
Thirdly, the Mezhists, Sikandarans, Parthians, and the Jurzani do not profit from devoting resources, both monetary and manpower, to fight a bloody war. Young men and women, both civilian and military, are losing their lives daily in the pursuit of peace. Infrastructure is crumbling as a result of bombings, bombs made by money that could be spent elsewhere – such as hospitals, clinics, schools, and research. All four nations are suffering from this crisis and it is because of the crisis that oil prices will increase. The increase is not in our interests nor is it in the world’s. President Rygaard points his finger to the ICPEN nations to be war mongers, but he is pointing at the wrong culprits. ICPEN nations that are currently engaged in war are fighting to best preserve peace. I repeat, to be completely clear, the Islamic Union does not see the sacrifices of our people as beneficial, and we are insulted that President Rygaard does.
Fourthly, the call of President Rygaard to boycott ICPEN products in order to ensure the economic collapse of ICPEN nations is, at the very least, hypocritical. President Rygaard has criticized ICPEN nations for not having the ‘interest to serve humankind’ in mind. We do not see how asking for the collapse of all of our economies, which will undoubtedly lead to the suffering of hundreds of millions, serves humankind. Unless, of course, the President means to say that the people of ICPEN nations are subhuman and therefore are not members of “mankind.”
Finally, in regards to the current war that Parthia and the Islamic Union are fighting, Talemantros has been a continuous enemy of peace. Talemantros tried to destroy the Union during its unification, and after their failure, they invaded Parthia and forced the nation to cede Zamosk. Since then, the Empire has been a constant source of threats and aggression. Parthia is fighting for what is rightfully theirs and the Jurzan is fighting to get rid of the one source of warfare in Himyar. President Rygaard lives and leads in an area of the world that is alien to war. He should not be so quick to criticize the governments of a region in the world where war is, unfortunately, a common evil.
