I found a newer one made by Potenza:

Illyricia. Noice.

EDIT: If the Tuburians lingered over the Long Sea, wouldn't it be better to have the Long Sea with a Tiburan connection rather than the Great Sea?

I think it's the relation to the Romans and Atlas and Atlantic Ocean that NeoBrit mentioned earlier where we make this connection. Perhaps in that sense, we ought to look at a nice God to name it after.

As long as its a nice god. I prefer the Greek ones running about in next to nothing

Although I'm nowhere near the Great Sea in distance via the map, I'd say name it a Germanic/Romanic name, considering the proximity to such nations. Much like the Atlantic.

...and two days later we've concluded that...? We're gonna use a god or something? If I may be so bold (and noting I've put exactly 5 minutes into this idea, no more and possibly less), we should use Gaia, which is Atlas' mother. So something like Gaiantic Sea or Ocean, which stems from Sea of Gaia. Starts with a G as in Great Sea, and frankly it's an idea and it feels this discussion has practically died and so hey! Reason to continue and debate and/or agree.

Poll :: The Great Sea Naming Convention

This is a 3 day poll, if there is no consensus or it is too close to call then we'll do another run off between two options.

A little more than 24 hours remains on this poll. Two options are tied, and one is only a vote behind. 3 folks who voted on the Papist poll did not vote here as well, and may be the difference maker.

Yes, we'll narrow down to Thaumantic and Gaiantic for a final showdown.

Second Great Sea Poll

The first vote was too close to count, so here we go for round two. If there is a tiebreak needed, Engellex the mapmaker will decide what to change on the map.

Is going to be the name of the sea? The Thaumantic or Gaiantic Sea? They sound like something from a sci-fi, not a nation-state RP forum. I prefer 'Great Sea' and fail to understand why a change was needed.
