Sebastokrator Chrysanthos Samaras calls for Himyari Peace
Cyrene, Pentapolis
His excellency, Chrysanthos Fotios Samaras, Sebastokrator of Cyrene, has issued a call for a peace for the whole of Himyar, especially now with the Holidays fast approaching. The government of Cyrene has issued its yearly report to the nation, which usually brings economic and demographic figures on the year which has passed and since 1975 has expanded to publish some continental figures too, and this year's report has been shocking as the number of victims of political and military violence has reached an all time high, ever since the figures started to be statistically analysed, nearly 70 years ago. This comes in the aftermath of the Tarusan, Frankish and Scanian intervention in Al-Maghrab and Hajr which took place this spring and continued at high intensity in the summer, and now has been overshadowed by the upheaval in the Republic of Central Himyar, which recently has seen the Pelasgian Army deployed there too.
The current year has seen a generalised trend of degradation of state institutions across Himyar, with semi-stable Mandates being disbanded and then invaded by Gallo-Germanian powers, in what the invaders called a stabilising mission, what everyone seen as neo-colonialism, and the replacement of old Hajr al Al-Maghrab, homelands of the Uroduah people and of Islam, turn into the Scanian Anti-State of Himyar, which failed by default thanks to the Polar Divorce and the disbandment of Scanlaw, the Principality of Alexandrette, a Frankish outpost, and the rest of Al-Magrab becoming a Tarusan colony akin to the Noks Free State. The Republic of Central Himyar is now also devastated by the guerrilla movement of the 'Fighting Cranes', so much so that their statehood now stands only on the backs of the Pelasgian soldiers deployed there.
In this environment, the Cyrenaic government has issued its call for peace in Himyar. While normally such calls are typical for the holiday period, the gravity of the situation seems to have made this year's less of a call and more of a warning: "The peoples of Himyar, from the Cyanopians in the south-west, through the Uroduah, and the Azraqi and up to the Carians like us and the Pelasgians, are all proud peoples, which have lived, thrived and at times died in this cradle of humanity long before Gallo-Germania was even populated. While we have always been friendly to our neighbours and to partners from afar, we wish to issue a warning. You are here in Himyar as guests and one must behave. Respect for the land and the people must be paramount, and actions which seek to destroy life and degrade civilisations and economies for the sake of colonialism must not be tolerated. We will follow up the events that take place in the homelands of the Uroduah and in Central Himyar with great care and concern, and if necessary, we will see what the following steps are to be taken, should this trend of national degradation and loss of sovereignty is set to continue. Our goal is to see Himyar at peace, and I know that our brothers from Propontis feel the same, what I hope is that the Tarusans, Scanians and the Franks feel the same. The military operans have ended, now it is the time to rebuild," stated Chrysanthos Samaras, Sebastokrator of the Cyrenaic Empire.
This year, the Cyrenian Sun, the government's aid and charity organisation, has donated more than 150 million Staters in supplies to refugees from Hajr, Al-Maghrab and Central Himyar, with more than 200 million expected to be donated in 2023. Since the war started, about 150,000 people have crossed the Strait of Achilles into Cyrene, with most coming toPeuce and Nea Polis islands. About 25,000 have been distributed to the Hagios Andreas island and a few hundreds have reached Hectorios, old Cyrenian territory now under the banner of the Commonwealth of Prydain.

NATION PREPARES FOR CHRISTMAS: Lights have been put up in most of Cyrene's cities, as the Empire begins the last week's countdown for the start of the holiday season. Because of the very warm climate, it is hard to find a typical Christmas tree, but all sorts of evergreens are decorated, and in the past 30 years, poinsettias have become traditional Christmas decorations too. Expecting a huge increase in transportation demand the next week, OSK, the Cyrenaic Railways Organisation has announced that is supplemented trains with extra carriages while also in some instances, adding more trains. The local airlines have all reported 100% occupancy for their flights in the next two weeks too.
