What do we do?We pursue our national interests and project Skånskelag as a force for good in the world. We promote the interests of Scanian citizens, safeguard the Union's security, defend our values, and tackle global challenges with our international partners. We engage the world diplomatically and professionally. Responsibilities Our ambition for the Ministry for Foreign Affairs is to maximize our global impact in the service of the Skånskelag's interests and values – working together with our partners and allies, both potential and actual, as a force for good in the world. Delivering change that makes a difference in the real world will be at the centre of what we do, using evidence to ensure we are adopting best practices. We will be ready to respond to crises, particularly those affecting the safety or welfare of the Union's nationals overseas and large-scale humanitarian disasters. Our efforts will make the Skånskelag safer and more resilient to global threats. Who we are The Ministry for Foreign Affairs was established by the 1919 Foreign Intelligence and Relations Act, designed to improve the Union's ability to conduct affairs abroad. We employ around 10,000 staff in our diplomatic offices worldwide, including in the European Forum and overseas embassies and high commissions. Our Skånskelag-based staff work at the Gammel Strand Pl. 2 Office, at Christian IX gamle børssal in Gøthehavn, Jydsken. We also have other offices, notably in Ulrikasborg, Gutarike, and Kongsberg, Østveg, as well as our special Western Affairs office in Trollskirke, Ísalagen. Committments

Velkommen! Välkommen! and hello! My name is Saga De la Gardie and I am the Foreign Minister for the Skånskelag. Thank you for your interest in the Foreign Ministry. It is here that Scania embarks on its journey abroad! Our efforts to engage with foreign cultures, societies, and of course nations on the most peaceful and diplomatic terms is what sets our business apart from the other Offices and Ministries in the Union. It is an honour and a privilege to hold this post, one of the four most prestigious positions in our country. As a young girl I never dreamed of ascending to these heights within our Government, and it speaks to the character of our people where a girl can dream to reach for the stars and actually find herself among them. For me, for my family, Skånskelag represents something special on the international stage. We are a democracy, but not just that, we are a force for good. For humanity reaching its greater potential. It is my belief that the Foreign Ministry can reach greater heights for continuing this mission statement, for our own citizens and others who live in far more oppressive situations abroad. Where there is tyranny, there are marginalized situations for women, and as the first female Foreign Minister in the history of our great Union, I plan to find ways to help women and children and stress that these often overlooked people are not forgotten when considering our global responsibilities. It is my hope that Scania can stand for something greater than it ever has before, and together we can lead Europe towards a more prosperous future, both economically and culturally, but also in terms of equity and liberty. It is my sincere hope that the Foreign Ministry can find a way to help you achieve what you are looking for when engaging Scania. Whether you are a business leader, a university student, or a young child, both at home and abroad... the North has something to offer you. MvH,
