TOP SECRET
WEST ENGELL REPUBLIC
COMBINED ARMED FORCES
PLANNING PROPOSALS
FOR BOURGOGNE MISSION
TO DOMAIN ALLIES
BEAUTANCUS - CLARENTHIA - FIRST REPUBLIC
The Combined Armed Forces of the West Engell Republic are committed to not only accomplishing Domain initiatives, but facilitating them to ease the load for our Thaumantic Allies. We were not the tip of the spear for the ongoing Burgundian conflict, and we cannot at this time apply frontline efforts, yet we can contribute to the larger mission of placing conventional forces on the continent with the equipment and sustained training direction they need.
We envision that merchant marines and chartered civilian transport vessels can apply heavy military hardware, while privately chartered aircraft can focus ground troops at jump off points in the First Republic where they can be assigned to military aerial transport schemes or rapid maritime sprints.
It is imperative that the leadership and command of this unnamed operation set clear rules of engagement and mission parameters for rear arriving standard military units. We predict that local national opposing forces will present themselves at first as uniformed combatants, and very soon after if not already so: partisans and irregulars indistinguishable from civilians. This will present our conventional forces with dynamic threat levels unconventional to static line symmetrical warfare we have trained for against larger powers and their identifiable patterns.
We advise that on a company level that French speaking soldiers are identified or brought to sufficient ability to act as temporary interpreters, that ground troops are given translation booklets constructed to give troops the ability to gather basic information from the local population. Eventually each company should be assigned an official proficient interpreter where necessary to achieve no loss in critical translation. We can assume from data that much of the region is at least familiar with Engellsh, but we must be capable of speaking to local leaders as they are found, elected, or installed in their native tongue.
Lists of persons of interest should be compiled for our troops and mercenaries to find and capture if necessary. Our combined intelligence groups must also begin identifying potential local collaborators willing to work towards order by our definition. We must expect moles, saboteurs, and all manner of agents from around the world working against our interests. Legal frameworks and guidelines should be provided among Domain groups to ensure agencies are operating to and not beyond what is permitted by higher authorities.
Finally we are proposing that the “Domain Battle Platform” is fully employed by land and air vehicles with satellite link to prevent blue on green accidents between Combined Domain Forces. This platform should be installed in every motor vehicle, with as much albeit rushed training for truck commanders and intelligence units so that they may draft battle plans on the move and maintain a third medium of communication beyond convention radio signals and runners. The DBF will give us organizational and ultimately tactical superiority over regular or irregular forces if deployed and utilized correctly. For that reason we are forward deploying contractors to brief unfamiliar troops and command groups with the basic outline of DBF usage.
