First of all, sorry for that, but it was inevitable.
There will be a downtime of the forum for probably a few hours later this day. However not for server maintenance or something similar: we are moving.
Now you ask yourself: moving again? Indeed it seems to be only a short while after our last move, but this time it is quite positive: we got our own root server. Those of you who administrate a homepage themselves might know what it is, for all others I summarize it up as a dedicated computer that will host Europe and Europe alone. What this means is the power of a complete computer dedicated to the speed and performance of the forum! Hosting on a dedicated server could be seen as the "king class" of webhosting and I am proud that we have come there.
In comparison, we thus far have always been on webhosting plans or on "virtual servers", which means that we share our resources with other websites and are dependent on their problems: if some of their scripts crash the server, we had to suffer, too. This cannot happen anymore now.
I will post in this thread again when the move is impending. Until then I ask for your understand and hope that you share my joy about this huge step forward for the forum.
