To understand if they are true accusations or propaganda, without proof it is impossible. The information provided by Justosia's media and his representative was scarce, thought Dalmazio.

Nielsen looked at his watch and jotted down some notes on the events at hand. He passed it to an aide which walked out of the room. The aide unbeknownst to the other delegates in the room was enroute to the Government with news of the spy submarine situation. He knew he had to speak out on the situation, and he knew it would continue to disappoint the Justosian Prime Minister.

He cleared his throat, “The Two Kingdoms certainly understands the reasoning and the desire for the Southern Kingdom to have this first article instituted. Yet it is impossible for the Two Kingdoms to accept an agreement that compromises its neutrality. Our crediability is based upon our impartial attitude to all nations and states. We cannot compromise it even for friends. I, for one do not doubt the crediability of the Justosian intelligence on the matter, but our hands are tied.” Nielsen paused. He still wanted to know what the Justosian delegate had planned for his second point, but a matter of business needed to be attended to.

“My friends, we welcome the admission of the Eiffelland-Retalian Kingdom. All our Kingdoms have voted in favor, and their arrival to this meeting is likely to be imminent.”

PM Blount rose in response.

"I am happy to correct the honourable Mr. Nielsen. Justosia fully understands & respects your nation's neutrality. If I may?

There are designs out there for our noble nations. Leftist designs. Anarchist designs. Envious designs. Evil designs. To deny this is doing your, my, our peoples a great disservice. Justosia is more than capable of defending herself now. I ask you my good colleagues to take this as a harbinger. Many in Europe despise our governmental ideologies, way of life. Trust they want to see it toppled. I mean only to make this starkly clear to all present this day. Our sovereign lords. Kings. Queens. They are above politics. Annointed stewards. Fathers and mothers to us. The greatest uniters alive. Let this accord show Europe at least, that we are hardly antiquated. I yield in anticipation of our new arrival."

Blount sat. He had his soon to be proposed Article 2 prepared. He was highly confident it would be far better received. There was disappointment, but it wasn't his. He sent an encrypted text home.

His Excellency sat & waited. He did hope the Eiffelland delegation was well. The kingdom was overjoyed to have them as a burgeoning ally. He had been away from home from some time now. He received priority classified alerts as they were prudent. Such as now.

Davide Scalfaro was a Retalian. He originated from the largest island in the Retalian Sea. That island housed two provinces of Retalia: The Italian-speaking Vallese on the west and the German-speaking Wallis on the left. His place of birth was the provincial capital of that island: Bellinzona. Before Eiffelland and Retalia united, he was a diplomat serving at various Retalian embassies. After the diplomatic staffs of both countries merged, many diplomats were not needed any more. Scalfaro was happy that he was not one of the people to be dismissed. Instead, he was to represent Eiffelland-Retalia at the ECONAMS.

He walked into the plenary room, introduced himself and thanked Nielsen for his warm welcome. Then he seated himself.

"It is of utmost importance for all of us that we do not take actions that undermine the neutrality of Jyskerige-Østveg. Especially given the tensions all over this world, respectable countries that are standing above the parties are needed in order to to have places where armistices and peaces can be negotiated. I am happy that our honourable colleague of Justosia agrees with us on that.
I also want to voice my understanding for the concern the Kingdom of Justosia has in the case of the spying submarines in their territorial waters.
Now let's think of a way to bring those two things together. Would it make sense if we issue an announcement in which this organisation emphasises the importance of the sovereignty of countries and respect for that sovereignty, and indicates its concern about the spying submarines?"

"Praise be unto God Yahweh. Thank you! Finally!" His Excellency said to himself.

"On behalf of the Great Southern Kingdom of Justosia, welcome Mr. Scalfaro. Indeed we agree that the neutrality of our host nation is not to be infringed upon. Secondly it warms my heart and soul to hear these tidings you bring."

Blount then addressed the room generally.

"Esteemed colleagues. I respectfully second the gentleman's motion. I would also like to say that Justosia is sure who the culprit is. I believe you are too in your hearts. There are certain nations in Europe that despise to their darkened souls our way of life. I humbly implore you, let's show them ECONAMS is united. I yield."

"The Government of the Grand Duchy is not opposed to a joint press release. The press release should concern only respect for the sovereignty of the states, there will be no references to spy submarines or Auraria. We can not allow diplomatic relations to be further exacerbated for what is a rebound of accusations between Justosia and Auraria."

 

[Justosia]

His Excellency drank down some water as he took this in. Coupled with the fact that he had received word Lars was attempting to cozy up to Auraria, he had begun becoming wary, distrustful of the member state.

"The Great Southern Kingdom of Justosia agrees. Let us officially sanction this motion."

 

[Rheinbund]

"I am in favour of the motion outlined by Mr. Gedeone Paternoster from the Grand-Duchy of Lars: Issue a press release in which we emphasise the importance of the sovereignty of countries and respect for that sovereignty," Davide Scalfaro said.

 

[Justosia]

Blount raises his hand in support.

Nielsen nodded, and agreed with the other delegates. “Friends, would it be considered most polite if the Eiffellander-Retalian delegation draft such a press release considering the stipulations from Lars? I believe it only fair as it is your idea. Unless you’d prefer a more cooperative effort in its drafting, we could review your work and submit it for distribution soon thereafter.”

The addition of the Eiffelland-Retalia delegation had already paid dividends, as they seemed to look for a more proactive path between the very uneven parties he thought. Even still, it would do much to promote the organization and allow for much of the world to see the purpose of the monarchist grouping by promoting sovereignty and peace. For Nielsen it was paramount that ECONAMS maintained a level headed and conservative viewpoint on international relations. It was not to seek to change the world, only to maintain stability and solidarity where it could.

"I will make a first draft of the press release. After then, let's discuss it together," Scalfaro said.

Blount received a priority encrypted text.

"A small victory is still a victory. Ascent granted. Proceed. Viva Justosia."

The representative of Lars nodded according to the draft presented.

PM Blount received a flurry of encrypted, Level One security texts. He digested the intel as he prepared another important address to the body.

PM Blount rose to speak.

"Esteemed colleagues of this body. By now you know of the way our nation was aggressed against last night. For merely practicing previously announced and legal defence exercises with our formal ally the Occitan Kingdom. Our small, defencive force was aggressed against by a joint force that dwarfed it. For whet purpose? The nationalist in me wants to proclaim proudly that it was due to their covert fear these nations have over our great southern kingdom's ascension. Or it was for war. What other logical conclusion can be reached? This is how the nations of Europe, radical republics like Auraria, view our rights and sovereignty internationale. I will not go on in fear of lecture. I merely wish to bring this festering state of affairs to your attention. I yield."

Blount sat.

Nielsen nodded, “Perhaps we can also add a point on the freedom and right to the high seas in our statement? My Kingdoms feel uncomfortable with the idea that any naval vessels be harassed for no real prominent reason, but yet still must refrain from commitment to any military cause.”

 

[Justosia]

"Praise you God Yahweh. For every trial, follows your sollace of love." His Excellency said, prayed to himself before responding.

"There is no need for a military cause, or clause. That is most sufficient. Thanks be again to you Mr. Nielsen. Your host nation as well. You are GOOD people. A shining beacon in an otherwise darkened north. If I may, my party should like to produce and release the revised statement."
