Canstubljia overwhelmed by EDF protests

Syracuse

National Police were overwhelmed initially by an estimated 14,000 protesters that descended on Syracuse Wednesday morning. The protesters seemed to be protesting EDF bases in Nicosia and the stationing of foreign troops in Nicosia.

While the populace is fiercely supportive of Nicosian membership, it has long resisted the construction of bases. Today, the protesters reacted to the unannounced EDF Summit in Syracuse. While security was high due to the nature of the conference, 300 constables from other municipalities had to be transported to Syracuse to ensure security. Canstubljia Captain Phillipe Talpo promised that "security and public safety will remain intact, we anticipate no acts of violence in either direction- at or from the protesters".

Despite reassurances, a further 120 police officers arrived throughout the day. The conference is expected to last 3-5 days.

Solaren "a bully" says Chancellor Valdez, alert level raised

Solaren has not been known recently for its etiquette recently. In fact, it has several members of the international community deeply offended. Today, the Nicosia and Solaren sparred through diplomatic cables after the Solaris government referred to government of Boganhem as 'false prophets who claim divine insight are leading the people on a path to unending agony and despair'. Nicosia, also a past target of Solaris ramblings, quickly responded by calling the Solaris comments as "offensive" and calling the Solaris leadership and church a 'cult of thugs'. The Nicosian Orthodox Church also offered a harsh response to Solaris comments.

Solaren quickly responded by again taking an opportunity to viciously taunt Nicosia over former monarch Nicholas VII's Alzheimer's Disease. Following several more exchanges, Solaren threatened "to make an example out of the Nicosians so that other weak minded, feeble nations would think twice before antagonizing a force back by the wrath of G-d".

Chancellor Valdez issued a public statement in which he denounced Solaris actions and called them a "belligerent bully; hellbent on the destruction of peace and decency". Chancellor Valdez also asked the international community to publicly denounce the government of Solaren when they make "erratic and offensive comments".

The public statement also acknowledged the Kingdom would be at Alert Level II (a level not reached since the terrorist bombings of 1992). "As a precaution against a seemingly erratic government, we have raised the alert level temporarily" said the statement.

Pope Urban issued an edict calling for terrorist action against Nicosia today. Among his comments, the perhaps most disturbing, called for attacks against civilians.

“Today I am issuing a call to the faithful throughout Europe to take blood, flesh and metal to civilian centers of Nicosia. Endow yourselves with explosives; give yourself in the name of Martyrdom. Use your body as a weapon of force in response to Nicosia’s unprovoked act of diplomatic warfare" said Pope Urban.

Chancellor Valdez immediately issued a statement notifying the public that the diplomatic mission to Solaren was already returning to Nicosia and that the Solaris diplomatic mission to Nicosia had 36 hours to evacuate to Solaren. Nicosia, known for strict adherence to diplomatic immunity, 'would not arrest with charge or mistreat Solaris diplomats in any way' said the Chancellor. However, he was quick to point out that they could be forcibly deported as terrorist agents.

Furthermore, the Chancellor stated that "military operations outside of 5 nautical miles of Nicosia would cease immediately so as to ease tensions". He also stated that Nicosia would remain at Alert Level II.

A full and sincere apology to Pope Urban IV and the millions of faithful adherents to the Solaris Church is the only way to prevent a carnival of blood from visiting your cities. This, coupled with a return to normal military readiness is the only option of the Nicosian government to spare its people bloodshed from being shed, something that would have never been in the cards if Nicosia's belligerent leaders had not resorted to broad, unfounded verbal barrages.

Explosion, Ajaccio Royal Hospital in ruins

As patients were handed out breakfast this morning, a large explosion tore through the building. The 2,000 bed facility is Nicosia's largest and is a prominent children's research hospital.

"At this time, we know we had 1700 patients and around 300 staff, we are still trying to account for everyone" said a hospital spokesman. Firefighters are still working to put out a blaze at the south end of the compound while others desperately search the ruble and remaining structure. Canstubljia Nicosia issued a statement just moments ago blaming Solaris terrorism.

The King has not yet issued a statement but Chancellor Valdez made a statement on Crowna just minutes ago:

"This is a terrible tradgedy which will either seem far worse or slightly better as more details become available. We are deeply shocked and saddened at these actions. We turn to Solaren for all responsibility. The follower's of this 'pope' have turned into thugs and drones, hellbent on the destruction of European peace and brotherhood".



Nicosia currently has 15,000 followers of the Solaris church.

Nicosia diplomats, citizens evacuated

Under the cover of night, Nicosia began evacuating some of its 4,000 citizens from Solaren. Atlas, the national carrier of Nicosia, offered free flights to those wishing to leave Solaren said Chancellor Valdez. Around 3000 chose to leave said the Ministry of Citizen Services.

The diplomatic mission was fully evacuated last night also said the Chancellor. He further stated that all communications would be via third party embassies at this juncture.

National Police estimate 500 dead, 1000 wounded

The blast at Ajaccio Royal College may have killed as many as 500 say national police. Luckily, it appears as the blast occurred in the less populated portion of the structure. Firefighters say the explosion appears to have occurred in the lobby. Other hospitals are overloaded and some are being transported all over Nicosia and even to military facilities for treatment.

Police are analyzing security tapes and have ordered nationwide security measures close to Alert Level III.

Nicosians in Solaren detained, situation worsens

While diplomats had already been evacuated, 4000 Nicosians remained. An evacuation was underway of all civilians when Solaren ordered the arrest of all Nicosians. 3100 had not been been evacuated according to a government statement.

Chancellor Valdez issued a quick response noting that similar actions would not occur in a nation as 'civilized as Nicosia' and that the actions take by Solaren even further violate international law. Chancellor Valdez accused Solaren of increasing tensions even further despite Nicosia's many attempts to ease them. "The actions taken by Solaren are criminal and continually terrorist in nature. We fear these most recent actions are a prelude to genocide. While the Solaris government calls it protective custody, we fear they will implement protective capital punishment" said the Chancellor today.

Solaren remained jubilant over recent actions, even referring to Nicosia as a 'war zone'. When asked through diplomatic channels if Solaren was implying that a state of war exists, an ambiguous response was received.
