Echoing the offers of assistance from our allies of Touzen we also wish to relay to the Nicosian government the offer of the Star of Life Association's International Crisis Service to send an air-transportable field hospital and blood reserves to Nicosia. In addition, the Republic of Korela has offered a medical team of doctors and nurses with experience in explosion injury treatment based on attacks during the former KPA insurgency in the Republic.

Furthermore, the Union offers investigative assistance in determining the culprits behind the attack and relays the offer of counter-terrorist training to select Nicosian law enforcement officers in Serbovia by the Corps of Gendarmes.

The Union condemns the thoroughly condemnable act of terrorism and hopes that the persons responsible are swiftly brought to justice. A book of condolences is open at the Union Council Hall for the rest of this week and will be presented to the Nicosian government by the Serbovian consul to Nicosia on Monday.

Marinili Resort hit by explosion, unknown casualties, 23 unaccounted for

Marinili

A second explosion rocked Nicosia as the popular Marinili Resort was hit by another suspected attack today. Nicosia, famous for her resorts, may be in deeper trouble than originally thought. The lobby fire is finally under control as firefighters continue to search for survivors.

The Office of the Chancellor has already contacted families and is doing its best to remain in contact. According to the resort, it currently has guests from 11 countries including Frescania, Hajr, Belmont, Lorraine, and Coronado. 3 guests from Solaren are currently being held in custody.

Police promised further information shortly.

With this latest bombing so soon after the first, this government is in agreement that this is a coordinated attack on the state and citizens of Nicosia, the Kingdom of Lorraine therefore offers to air transport additional medical, firefighting and rescue personnel and equipment to Nicosia. We currently have enough firefighting and rescue personnel but would be more than grateful for any medical support possible. We are unable to activate military reserve hospitals out of fear of raising tensions with Solaren. We also must decline any military aid at the current time for similar reason. Casaulties mount as Nicosia reels from Solaris violence

In two bombings today, the current death toll is at 322 say officials, but it is expected to rise as rescue operations continue. Police confirmed 16 dead in the Marinili Resort attack. While the names have not been released, Police confirm the dead include 7 Nicosians, 3 Belmontiens, 4 from Coronado, and 2 from Lorraine. 3 others are wounded with a further 4 still unaccounted for. Chancellor Valdez has remained in personal contact with the families.

Police in Ajaccio are being more conservative and vague with numbers as they continue to rise. Officials warned that the entire structure is on the verge of collapse and they are still attempting to evacuate a few people. Rescue operations have halted in the collapsed portions of the hospital as rescuers are attempting to control the collapse of the remaining structure away from the rest of the collapse.

"Pope Urban a terrorist" says Chancellor, aid pouring in

"Pope Urban is a thug, a terrorist, and a psychotic individual" said the Chancellor during a fiery TV statement. He acknowledged that the Kingdom was doing everything it could to ease tensions by limiting military activity and that the Kingdom will rely on foreign medical aid which has been pouring in from around the world. "This is not some geo-political game. These nations see attacks on innocent civilians and act in a moral manner. Nicosians are deeply touched and humbled by the assistance from our friends in the world" said the Chancellor, visibly emotional.

He quickly turned back to Nicosia's plan to reinstate peace:"We will do our best to peacefully recover our citizens that are illegally held by the Urban Regime. We are placing a travel warning on ourselves in order to further protect foreign visitors. While we are confident we will be able to bring the situation under control, there is no telling what Urban will do. We turn to the international community and ask for help in getting our citizens returned safely".

The King is expected to speak tonight for the first time at 8pm local time.

Canstubljia: Car bombs responsible, death toll rises

National police have determined that car bombs were used in both attacks says a Canstubljia Nikoşia release. Security footage points to a van used in Ajaccio and a small car in Marinili.

'There is no doubt that these attacks have been orchestrated by agents of Solaren. Evidence is already been gathered along with tapes made of the suicide bombers' said the report.

Police also raised the death toll from 322 to 467, stating that many of the dead are children. Police say that the number is again expected to rise. The Nicosian government has made a case at the Council of Nations and is continuing to seek international support. Just hours ago, Chancellor Valdez authorized the deployment of Nicosia's Royal Police Reserve to help secure the country.

Engellex appears to be naming a movement as responsible for the resort attacks, but at this time the Canstubljia is dismissing the statements as a ruse or as possibly incorrect information.

Casualties rising, investigations continue

Police have raised the death count at the Royal Hospital to 506, stating that the hardest hit region was the Geriatric Unit, which had 73 patients. Many from this unit are unaccounted for at present. Fires were finally extinguished and officials report superficial demolition of the remaining structure was completed after all were evacuated. Police have accounted for all involved at the Marinili Resort, placing the final death toll there at 17. An 8th Nicosian was transported to the hospital where they died reports police.

Chancellor Valdez ordered air travel to stop and the airspace cleared as a precautionary measure. Police say they have security footage of both incidents, which they plan to release shortly. Chancellor Valdez urged against acts of revenge, noting that Nicosians hospitality is superior to that of Solaren. Chancellor Valdez urged the immediate release of all Nicosians being held in Solaren, illegally. "Solaren must release any Nicosian citizen they are illegally holding and allow them to leave Solaren immediately. They are not criminals and our two nations are not at war" said the Chancellor.

When will the Nicosian government learn that it cannot have it both ways. It cannot blame Solaren for the mess that they, the prideful Nicosians created. Then go off on a rambling tangent against His Incredible Holiness.

And as Pope Urban IV has so mercifully stated - once Nicosia's leaders issue a full and sincere apology the refugees shall be returned home. Until that apology occurs we cannot be sure these 4,000 souls will be safe.

We have obtained a transcript of the King's speech, which was delivered earlier on TV and radio. We have provided it in its entirety.

"Good evening.

Today marked a bloody and terrible day in the history of this Kingdom. Today reminds many of the 1992 terrorist bombings. Today we face a similar but different situation. Our brothers are imprisoned against their will illegally and hundreds have been murdered. All this in a matter of hours.

Our prayers go out to the families and those being held in Solaren. I wish to convey the fact that vigilantism is not the answer. No, we are civilized hosts. We understand and accept morality.

Tomorrow, rescue and recovery operations will continue as will our efforts to gain freedom for those held as hostages. Our investigations will continue as well. We have several suspects in our eye, chiefly Solaren who does not wish to deny responsibility. We have received many kind words and actions from the international community. There are no words to describe the gratitude for the aid that is coming from friends in the international community.

Our citizens are being held by Solaren on the basis that Nicosia mocked and insulted an entire religion and nation. What of the mocking of a sick monarch stricken with a terrible disease? He is not only the leader of Nicosia, but officially is the leader of the Nicosian Orthodox Church.

We call for the swift return of these citizens to a 'neutral' country. This is a difficult statement, as Solaren and Nicosia are not at war.

We will bring justice to those responsible. There is no reason why, should those responsible for these attacks be brought to justice. Coupled with this, a return of these citizens can result in the peace we all desire.

Death count rises to over 600, Solaren refuses to deny involvement as 3,856 Nicosians are held hostage

Police officials were unable to give a definite number this afternoon, as crews continued rescue operations. However, officials did say that the count was now over 600 dead in the hospital attack alone. The Royal Fire Service have confirmed that floors 'pancaked' in many areas, leading to higher fatalities. Police did speculate that the fatality rate may turn out lower than originally thought as rescue crews are finding many survivors.

Despite this, Solaren refuses to deny responsibility in the face of the attacks. Police say the investigation is continuing and evidence is slowly being gathered. "We have a prime suspect and several groups of interest, but at this juncture it is just that, a prime suspect and extensions of interest".

As the world stands in solidarity against the acts of terrorism, many nations are standing firm with Nicosia on the issue of over 3800 Nicosian being held by Solaren as hostages. It was also announced that the Nicosians would be sent to work in mines as essentially slaves.

Chancellor Valdez responded harshly, calling Pope Urban "a criminal in the eyes of the international community". He further called upon nations to join in an immediate freeze on Solaris financial assets. "If Solaren wishes to take Nicosians hostage, we must come up with a ransom and what better place to find one than through the international community" said Valdez.

Kingdom in shocked silence as it bends to Solaren's will

The streets of the city were deathly silent as Nicosians learned that in order to save lives and at the urging of many, the King authorized paying of the ransom. "We do not know how many have been killed, nor how many have been harmed. We just want peace and for families to be reunited so we may grieve for those lost in this terrible time" said Chancellor Valdez.

The King apologized to the world and Solaren for bringing the two nations close to war and for violence that resulted from Nicosia's actions. The ransom, 21,000,000 Euros, was paid for with money from education and health budgets as well as 3,000,000 Euros from the House of Kosara treasury. Solaren also somewhat accepted 'responsibility' for the attacks.

Many expect eventual political backlash, but for the time being, many just want the hostages returned.

Final death toll 689, attackers identified

Police are confident in listing 689 as the final death toll between the two attacks. "It is a sad number but we are happy it is not much higher". Police also announced that they had identified both attackers with reasonable certainty but were withholding names until further information may be ascertained.

Security at public centers, transport hubs, and at government facilities will remain high say police.

Why should the people of Nicosia pay for the pride of their government? If anything, His Majesty should pay the entire ransom out of his own pockets. All twenty-one million Euros. Perhaps that will teach him not to play vain games with the lives of his people."

I have no doubt, if it came to the choice of prestige or people, the Imperials would take the former option each and every time, especially if it included a monetary profit."
