The Ministry of Agriculture has made a public statement
making it clear that Carian agricultural supplies will
be more than enough for our needs. Depite that analysts
around Caria say some light imports may be needed,
but it is nothing that we are not used to already.

Minor protests by Anarchocommunists in Sounio
turned violent with said troublemakers murdering no less
than sixty four police officers. The Militia and Police
have been forced to use armed force to keep the
peace. The murdered will receive a state funeral.

Girta brings justice to the killer of young Carian!
A Girtan court sentenced the young Girtan student
who killed a Carian minority member earlier this month
to a decade in prison. The Carian Ministry of the Exterior
congratulated the Girtan justice system for its swift
action.

Huge popular uprising in Sounio!
A massive protest of more than 500,000 citizens
of all classes has swept over Sounio after Militia and Police
murdered 4 innocents, an elderly man included.
The gathered are protesting for equal education,
less taxation, equal oportunities, food and better
working conditions as well as more democratic power.
The protest was attacked by Police and Militia at
various stages leading to the deaths of 68 state troops
and more than 106 innocent proletariats. The declared
popular assembly is holding more than half of the
nation's largest city!

The protesters have proved to be slightly larger than
anticipated as it assumed the Anarchists from
across the nation have come, against the Sounian citizens'
wishes. The Armed intervention approved by Despotic Decree
No. 246 will shortly take care of the Anarchocommunists and
restore order. While there is concern for the fate of the
Sounian Aristocracy confident that they are unharmed.

Sounian public support!
Shortly after their coup the Anarchocommunists
issued a proclemation of a Republic and a state of revolution,
establishing a mock government among other things.
This proclemation lacks public support across the nation
and even in Sounio and is considered a petty failure.

Popular Assembly crushes Despot's forces
and takes over Sounio!
The Revolutionaries of the Popular Assembly have
crushed the Despot's murderous forces in Megaro Square
in Sounio, liberating the city and using it as the capital
of the newly proclaimed Provisional Democratic
Government of the Carian Republic. The Militia have been
routed fleeing to Amarysia, which is expected to be shortly
liberated as well.

Proclemation gathers huge public support! Navy
and Marines support Revolution!
The proclamation of the Carian Republic has gathered
massive public support across the nation despite the Despot's efforts.
The National Sea Guard and Marine Corps have joined the
revolutionary government strongly backing the Democratic Army's
cause. Aditionally the Archon and his loyalists, who
took part in or ordered the murder of innocent protesters
in the recent Massacare of Megaro Square, were found
guilty of crimes against the people and executed.

Kropia under siege! Amarysia fortifies!
Kropia has been surrounded by a large Rebel army
which is heading to Amarysia. After an intense battle the
first line of defense of government forces in Kropia
has collapsed with the defenders retreating to the second
line. The fight continues right now, but despite two airstrikes
Kropia seems doomed to fall. At the same time Amarysia
has begun building trenches and arming volunteers
to fortify itself. In the time bought by the siege of Kropia
a few reinforcements have arrived to the city.

Summit of the Archons in Antikyra!
In light of the grave situation in the South East of the
country the Despot has called a summit of the Archons,
who are now nine as one of them was executed in Sounio.
The summit will take place under heavy security with
Naupliot and Antikyran troops charged with protecting
the defensive lines built on the City State's eastern border.

To whom it may concern,

It is with great interest and growing alarm that the Union State, through its diplomatic and security apparatus, has carefully observed the unfolding situation within the Carian Despotate. Most shocking of all to anyone watching must simply be the sheer speed with which civil order has apparently dissolved, with forces of the sovereign government now reportedly engaged against mutineers and so-called rebels within the span of only a week. Furthermore, the collected failure of the Despotate and its Archon overlords to address the situation in anything like reasonable, diplomatic language, has more likely than not exacerbated the situation on the ground and accelerated its dissolution into abject chaos. The current government must thus be condemned, for a dangerous crisis has now emerged in a region of the world whose security and prosperity is absolutely critical for the safe maintenance of international trade and shipping.

However, though the Union State bears revolution in its blood too, it would be unjust to unilaterally support or bid the so-called Popular Assembly to victory. It is not the view of the Union State that unilateral action taken by any one side will result in a satisfactory and lasting solution.

It is thus that the Union State stands prepared to levy a number of trade and travel sanctions, alongside its allies, against the Carian Despotate. The refusal of the government to come to the table with dissidents is, at this juncture, utter foolishness. Insistence on achieving a total victory will result ultimately in nothing of the sort, and only further bloodshed and discontent will be created by continued action. The opposition now possesses sufficient strength, and this is undeniable, to fairly count as representative of a powerful voice and subset of the Carian population. Their absolute silencing, without terms, is not an action which can be tolerated by the civilized world. Though the Far Occident is perhaps an ocean away, our eyes forever remain fixed upon the Long Sea--paramount as its stability is to the whole of the world.

This dispatch may be considered a formal protest for all intents and purposes, both against the actions which lead to the present situation, and against the overstated reaction that continues.

JOINT STATEMENT OF THE CARIAN DESPOTATE AND FREE STATE OF SOUNIO
There is no collapse of order whatsoever. Of the total 10 states only 2 are currently engaged in war. The other Archons have no reason to intervene in the affairs of other City States, unless their states are somehow involved. We have already adressed the issue of traffic in the Long Sea, as our Coast Guard and Navy are doing their duty to ensure traffic is not inhibited there. After all maritime trade is one of our main sources of income. We have clearly asked for our sovereignity to be respected and our internal matters left to us. Since however, as you have pointed out, the bloodshed has hurt our people to such a degree that it is no longer possible the seat of the Archon of Sounio will be instead filled by a representative of the Popular Assembly. Representatives of the two sides will also meet in Amarysia to discuss a ceasefire. However the lack of unity among the various rebel factions makes any sort of diplomacy hard and thus it will take some time.

Free State of Nikaia, Apolloneia and Pyrgos
The Free State finds the matters of the South most concerning. Thus we will attend. We also welcome the representative of Sounio to our meeting.

Free State of Antikyra
We will attend the summit in our own city state of course. The recent conflict has only served to inhibit trade between the various Free States and the rest of the world.

Most Serene Free State of Demetrias
We will attend the meeting. We demand that all conflict among our Carian brethen stop and they both meet at them negotiation table and have a true and productive discussion.

Free State of Naupactus & Navarino
We will make sure to attend, as the conflict between these two city states threatens peace and tranquility in the Despotate to a degree without precedent.

Free States of Ampeli, Xerres and Artemis
Our attendance can be taken for granted. This is a crucial matter to all Carians, no matter how far they live from the front lines.

Kropia surrenders! Despotic Militia and
Democratic Army seize fighting in Amarysia!
After Rebel forces started advancing on Kropia's
second line of defense this morning the defenders
surrendered without a single man dying to avoid
further blooshed. The Loyalists were disarmed
and let to go back to their families. In Amarysia Rebels
and Loyalists stopped fighting after the civilians
of the city went out to inform them that a ceasefire
is to be negotiated there. The two former enemies
drunk, cheered, relaxed and camped together.

Sounian representative to attend Summit of the
Archons! Ceasefire to be negotiated in Amarysia!
Instead of the now deceased Sounian Archon
a representative of the Popular Assembly will
attend the Summit of the Archons in an attempt
to negotiate a permanent settlement and end
fighting. In Amarysia the two sides are currently
negotiating a ceasefire to facilitate these talks.

A joint summit with 9 Archons, including the Despot,
and the Premier of Sounio, Professor Dr. Nikolaos Zorbas,
has begun in Antikyra under tight security measures
to help achieve a peace deal and satisfy all parties
of the Carian Internal Conflict without further bloodshed.

National Unity Front established in Amarysia!
Bilateral ceasefire achieved!
In Amarysia representatives from both sides have
agreed to a Bilateral Ceasefire to facilitate the nego-
tiations currently taking place in Antikyra. At the sa-
me time the Troops and Diplomats in Amarysia have
declared the National Unity Front, a movement or a
coalition of individual movements which aims to put
pressure on ruling politicians to stop the war and
find a peaceful solution. It aims to use non-violent
protest and public demonstrations to achieve this goal.

Military intervention sets Nauplio under NUF
control! Regent to face trial!
The 1st Army Corps under Brigadier General
Attalus Pelasgiotis has seized the capital city,
Nauplio. Protests had taken place outside the
city's Megaro with many protesters holding
National Untiy Front flags. The Army inter-
vened just in time to avoid a shoutout. The
local Despotic Guard and the Army have arre-
sted the Regent and his advisors who will face
trial in the city's Court for their actions during
the blockade of the city by Sounian warships.

Camdenite Prometheists to fight on the side of
the Free State of Sounio!
The Camdenite Prometheist Army, a volunteer
Army maily composed of United People's Party
and Prometheist League member, has sent 1,300
Camdenites to help with food and supply distri-
bution, first aid and even light military aid, such
as training troops or supporting Sounian troop
movements, to the self-proclaimed Free State of
Sounio. The Sounian Popular Assembly voted to
decorate the 1,300 volunteers with the Order of
the Red Flag, the highest decoration of said state.

Specifications of the trial of the Regent of
Nauplio announced!
The Provisional Government of Nauplio has
announced the details of the trial of the Re-
gent and his partners. The court will consist
of 500 Jury members and 12 Judges. The Ju-
will vote and their decision will require a 3/4
majority and the decision of the Judges will
have to be unanimous. For both a judgement
and a penalty or payment of damages the
two bodies will have to agree. More than
12,000 people have asked to testify as wit-
nesses in the trial, on the accsuing side. Of
those 100 have been chosen by the Prose-
cutor general to testify. Likewise the accu-
sed have been allowed 100 witnesses, but
they are having trouble finding people who
are actually willing to testify in their defense.

Miners and locals riot in Nikaia!
After the owner of Pluto Inc. announced the
company's plans to construct a new damn
in the area near Argirissos as well as its
intent to use cheaper chemicals, which many
scientists call toxic and greatly damaging
for the environment due to increasing costs
the miners who were watching rioted, le-
ding the Astynomia to intervene. The Asty-
nomia is reported to have used unnecessarily
harsh force, leading to the riots worsening.
The Astynomia's MAT* Riot Police units
where outnumbered and forced to surren-
der by a large mob of lightly armed locals.
The owner of Pluto Inc is currently missing.
All sides in Caria have called for calamity
but have also condemned Pluto Inc.'s de-
structive environmental policy.

PRC agrees to non-agression pact with ne-
ighboring City States to keep peace.
Enraged locals in Nikaia's southern areas
have proclaimed the People's Republic of
Chersona. The PRC controls a small area
with a total population of about 52,000
with some ports and a dozen of impor-
tant mines. The term Chersona, however
refers to a lare area of land, the combined
territory of the ctiy states of Nikaia, Apol-
loneia and Pyrgos. After a small negotia-
tion Nikaia, Pyrgos, Apolloneia and the PRC
have agreed to not fight and retain their de
facto current border. The mines and ports
in the PRC will also continue operating as
usual.

Pluto Inc's major stockholder arrested!
Comits suicide in cell to avoid public hu-
miliation!
The major stockholder of Pluto Inc. was
arrested by the Nikaian Constabulary
for bribing Astynomia officers to supress
riots near Argyrissos. The forces were bri-
bed to act without the Archon's consent
which they did. The Constables found
the businessman in his cell, having han-
ged himself out of shame as he stated in
a suicide note. The Federal Astynomia's
analysis confirmed the handwriting was
his own and an autopsy confirmed the sui-
cide. Since he had no next of keen to leave
his fortune to he had stated in his will
he wanted to leave the money for a hospital
to be constructed, so as to make up for the
sins he had commited in his life, as he stated
in his will. His will shall be respected and
a new hospital shall be constructed in his
hometown, bearing his name. Pluto Inc.
has delcared bankruptcy.

Elios have decided to join the Nati-
onal Untiy Front's Provisional Mili-
tary Revolutionary Government in
Nauplio, which also controls Pyrgos.
The move is probably related to the
positive sentiments of their citizens
toward the Centrist Republican vie-
ws of the Army. It might also be a
move against Demetrias, their nei-
ghobr to the north which stil sup-
ports the Despot and has a small
Socialist insurgency in its northern
mountainous areas.

currently heading the Provisional

dly meeting, as the two were

Despot abdicates & gives control to Executive Assembly in Antikyra!
Following a vote to demand the Despot's abdication, in favour of which all City States but Demetrias voted, the Despot, Thrasybulus III abdicated. After delivering his last address to the Carian people, see below, over radio, the former Despot left power in the hands of the Executive Assembly in Antikyra until a new constitution is a-
dopted. A new age for Caria dawns, while many includithe former Despot hope this move will bring an end to the Carian Revolution's bloodshed.

Executive Assembly's first decree and public celebrations!
Immediately after being given executive power over the former Despotate theAssembly in Antikyra quickly drafted and approved its first decree. The Assembly adopted the name'Executive Assembly' and changed the flag and arms of Caria to a Carian flag wi- thout the old Coat of Arms and the Arms to a blue escutcheon with a golden ancient Carian Trirereme. A version of the flag defaced with the new arms has been adopted as State Flag, while the blank version serves as a Civil Flag. The decree also called elections for a Constitutional Assembly, while across Caria celebrations broke out, with many ripping the Despotic Arms from their flags, leading the day to be nicknamed 'day of the flags with holes' (ημέρα των τρύπιων σημαίων). Finally the name 'Carian City States' has been chosen to replace the name 'Carian Despotate'.

Rival protests by Despotists and Anti-Despotists in Demetrias!
In the Most Holy & Serene City State of Demetrias both Despotist and Anti-Despotist parties and individual civizens have taken to the street in protest. The Prometheanists support the deposition of the Despot while the Despotists reject it as invalid and demand a return to the Despotate. The Demetrian Civil Guard is separating the two protester bodies to prevent violence and riots, while closely monitoring the situation. Both the City State's government and the Executive Assembly of the Carian City States in Antikyra have called for calamity on both sides until the Constitutional Assembly is elected.

Temporary Naupliot Junta proclaims City State Elections!
The Provisional Military Government of Nauplio has proclaimed elections in the City States of Nauplio, Pyrgos, Navarino, Naupactus and Elios Island which are under its control. Elections will take place tomorrow while observers from the other City States will be present and [MENTION=7]Camden[/MENTION], [MENTION=1209]Auraria[/MENTION] and [MENTION=18]Eiffelland[/MENTION], three nations that have taken humanitarian action in Caria, have been invited to send foreign observers. The Executive Assembly has also invited them to send observers in the Constitutional Assembly elections that will also take place soon. After the elections the Provisional Junta will surrender power to the representatives elected by the people.

REGARDS from the CAMDENITE FOLK AND GOVERNMENT

As it may have been probably easy to observe, The Commonwealth of Camden has watched closely the events unfolding in Caria and we are overjoyed to see that the Carian people is finally starting to fight for unity. Even if the elites of the old Despotate may revere the state Caria was in until the beginning of this winter when a great leap forward has started, we are saddened to say that from our part of the world we didn't see a federation or confederation like how the Despot and its bunch has called it, but more likely just a remnant of the old feudalism from the Dark Ages. We are now happy to see that the Carians are now reaching for their full and complete development from a social and democratic point of view and now the victories of the pro-unionists are showing us that finally, the Carian people has been brought to light after a great and dark night that lasted for more than four hundred years, that being this lag behind when talking about the end of feudalism in the country.

The Commonwealth of Camden will surely support a new Caria to arise. The old one was becoming ossified and it started to become a burden bigger and bigger to it's people and the Despot was becoming more and more self described by his title, in the general sense, not the Carian semantics of the word "despot". We are now hoping to see a new Caria arise, a democratic one. We will fully accept either centrist, right-wing or left-wing victories as long as those came with the support of the people, democratically, not in other way.

For this, the Commonwealth of Camden will surely take part in the electoral process of Caria and for that is will create an observer commission from the members of the 1st and 2nd Brigades of Prometheus, who are currently in Caria, so that we don't have ship other officials from Camden, which is literally the antipode of Caria.

Protests in Apolloneia! Police violence leads to Navy garisson's intervnetion!
In Apolloneia people have taken to the streets to demand an abdication of the Archon and free, open and public elections just like those that have recently taken place in the five City States previously controlled by the Naupliot Junta. Eight of the twelve members of the Executive Assembly have supported the move, while all have called for calamity. The Apolloneian Civil Guard made extensive use of violence and non-leathal equipment to supress the protests. This lead the Navy garisson in the port to call for calamity on the Astynomia's part, saying that otherwise it might need to replace it temporarily due to its biased treatment of the Anti-Monarchist protesters. When the former failed to comply the Navy garisson went forward with its threat and disarmed the Astynomia's riot units. The Archon has been temporarily been detained by the Navy's Military Police while elections for a new, democratic government have been proclaimed.

Naupliot Junta's electoral results!
After a day of voting and vote counting the results of the electiosn in teh areas controlled by the Provisional Naupliot Junta have finally been released. In the City States of Nauplio and Naupactus the Carian Union of the Centre (Καρική Ένωση Κέντρου - Kariki Enosi Kentrou), the ideological successor of the National Unity Front, won by a landslide. In Elios Island, Pyrgos and Navarino the Workers' Party of Caria (Εργατικό Κόμμα Καρίας - Ergatiko Komma Karias), a Prometheanist Party that emerged from the Sounian Revolution, focused on a Social Democracy-Centre Left position, secured a massive victory with great public support. The elections were observed by observers from across Caria who declared that the procedures complied with all international standards and were completely legal. In any case the Junta has kept its promsie and has handed control over to the individual elected governemnts of each individual city state while the Army has returned to its bases. The City States have also replaced the despotic and Junta representatives in the Executive Assembly with new, elected ones.

Electoral victory for Social Democrats in Apolloneia!
In Apolloneia, following the Archon's abdication and the elections a clear electoral victory for the Social Democrats of the Prometheanist 'Ergatiko Komma Karias' has taken place. The EKK won by a landslide with 46% of the popular vote, while the Market Liberals and Centrists are strong minorities in the parliament. The Centrists of the 'Kariki Enosi Kentrou' have negotiated a coalition government with the Social Democrats, while the Liberals of the 'Proonteftiko Komma' serve as the Prime Opposition. Together the Coalition Government has 68% of the popular vote. Voter turnout was above 85%, a new record for the previously oligarchic City State!

'Blue Revolution' protests spread to Nikaia!
Pro-democracy protests have spread to Nikaia in what many Carians have nicknamed the 'Blue Revolution', from the blue flags the protesters wave. The Democratic protesters from all sides have chosen to stand outside the Megaro peacefully, some in silent protest and others chanting songs. Since Nikaia, a traditionally militarist City State, has no civil police, with the Military Police takig over its duties instead, MP in riot gear are currently standing between the protesters and the Megaro. The MP's Officers however are very well disciplined, something they are famed for all across Caria, so there have been no incidents of violence up to this point from either side. Right now the protest remains a peaceful, if not silent, one and the MP wants to keep it that way.
