The death of Pope Marcus Clemens II fills us with sadness. He was the spiritual leader of many people, and of many people in Eiffelland. All flags on Government buildings and Government properties will fly half-mast until the mourning period has ended.
If possible, King Albrecht IV, Queen Mafalda, Chancellor Graf von Seydewitz and his wife will attend the funeral on behalf of the Kingdom of Eiffelland. The Primate of Eiffelland, Archbisshop Strelecki, as well as Archbisshop Von Aschenbach, will attend the funeral as representatives of the Eiffellandian members of the Dominican Catholic Church.

Her Majesty Queen Diana and the Royal Family of Belmont have asked me to convey their deep sense of grief at the situation. Her Majesty Queen Diana, HRH Prince Nicolas of Montaigne and his wife, HRH Princess Élise, will attend the funeral of His Holiness. Her Excellency Madame Premier Martinique has also asked me to convey her condolences.

By Royal Decree, a mourning period of three days has been called across Belmont and all flags, except the Royal Standard, are to be flown at half mast.

We wish to express our most sincere condolences on the death of pope Marcus Clemens II. The small Dominican Catholic community of Ratomkira stated that it will join its international brothers of the faith in the mourning of their religious leader.

The Republic of Tyskreich wishes to send it's condolences and is deeply saddened by the death of the Pope.

As the nation with the largest population of Catholic Dominican Church followers in the world, President Charlott Kulig, a Catholic follower herself will travel to the Papal States to place a bouquet of flowers at the obelisk in center square as a representative of her people.

Condolences,

Thousends gathered on midday at St.-Pierre Basilica to pay their final respecs to Marcus Clemens II. Volunteers gave people in the long queues water and a medical emergency post was built on the main square in front of the church. The basilica will remain open during the night.

In the folowing days several services will be held in the basilca, in Latin, French, German and several other languages for all pilgrims who cannot attend the funeral.

The funeral itself will be attended by high guest from around Europe, amongst them Royals from Eifelland, Wiese and Belmont. The abbots of the Papal States are granted a number of places, which they have to distribute among the population of their pagus.

The Secretary has thanked in name of the people of the Papal States and the whole Catholic Church for the expressed condolences. Catholics in Europe, from Tyskreich to the small community in Ratomira have joined in a worldwide mourning. The Secretary has thanked ass well 'the fellow christian brothers' who have send their respects. t is not gone unnoticed that the Oltremarens remain silent.

The rumours about the succession start to take off. One name that occured was Mgr Tauran, but the some think a Cornavian could be the next pope, or at least a Catholic from a non-franconian or German country. On the other hand, it has been a long time since an abbot of the Papal States was elected pope, as it was usual for a long time in history.

Today 6.000 people have visited St.-Pierre Basilica to see the pope. The church was opened 2 hours earlier and closed at 22.45 hr. The following days many more are expected. Souvenir-sellers were banned from the main square, as it was found inappropriate.

The high guests who will attend the funeral of Marcus Clemens II start to arrive in Dominici. The exclusive hotels are cleared to grant them privacy and an accommodation up to their standards. All other hotels and guest-houses around the capital are full, says the board of tourism. Special trains on Monday will bring many more to Dominici.

Mourning services in Hajr were diisturbed by the police in Hajr, and some people remain still arrested. The Secretary urges the Hajr government to stop the harassement of Catholics. "It is shocking that Hajr keeps following the path of suppresion, whilst on the other hand it says it grants the freedom of religion". Some think these actions can have consequences in the Papal States politics towards Jurzan, a close ally of Hajr. The Papal States followed Belmont in their pro-Jurzan actions, so far that the Papal States representative to the CoN left the meeting as ultimate action of protest. Now Hajr is taking actions against Catholics, Dominici can fear the same would happen in a Hajr-influenced Jurzan.

Today a member of the Congregation fo Clergy said only Cardinals appointed by the Holy See will have voting rights in the conclave. He clearly meant Vangalan clergyman, appointed by the state but not confirmed by the pope, will be banned. The congregation itself, however, as not issued an official statement about this matter.

We reiterate the fact that the arrests and actions of our police forces had nothing whatsoever to do with religion. This was a matter of public order solely. We urge the Church to instruct its followers and its employees to, in the future, apply for the proper permissions before holding similar demonstrations, so that we may better guarantee their safety and that of the populace in general.

We also deny that the free Jurzan is "Hajr-influenced." The noble Uroduah of the Jurzan rebelled against a racist and oppressive regime on their own accord, achieving freedom for the first time in centuries. Hajr is but a friend, and we reject these baseless accusations of in any way holding sway over our brother-nation.

The People's Republic of Vangala continues to resent and reject the persistent interference of the Dominican Catholic Church in national affairs. We denounce the latest statement as an effort to undermine the authority of the Communist Party, promote disunity and disloyalty to the Motherland and further its own reactionary agenda, which is contrary to the interests and beliefs of the Vangalan people.

On Behalf of the Sinhai Union

We wish to send our sincerest sympathies to the Holy See, and hope the Dominican Patriarch finds his peace in the hereafter. The Dominican Catholic community within Sinhai has been permitted work leave to mourn his death, should their duties not be required foremost by the state. All citizens may travel to the Papal States of their own accord to hold vigil and await the results of the Papal Conclave; all travelers must travel of their own accord and with knowledge of the risks.

Security measures will be heightened during this time to ensure no harm comes to these people freely expressing their religious convictions.

Sincerely,
Arun Iyengar

The Landamann Grauholzer and his administration and the Staatstag all express their sincerest grief at the news of the passing of His Holiness the Pope, Marcus Clemens II. The state flag at the Wendmarker legation to Dominici shall be flown at half-mast in sign of respect to the passing of an honourable servant of God.

Whilst the majority of the Free State's population belongs to the Reformed Church, Catholicism has historically played an important role in Wendmark. This is why the Wendmarker delegation at the funeral of His Holiness shall be represented not only by the bishops and archbishops of the Dominican Catholic Church in Wendmark, but also by the Landamann Grauholzer and the First Lady. The President of the Staatstag, Evelyne Wyss-Buder, shall lead a delegation of Wendmark's members of parliament to the funeral.

I was struck with great grief and sadness upon receiving word of the passing of His Holiness Marcus Clemens II. The Holy Father has served Our Lord Jesus Christ long and well and has been a becon of hope and comfort in a world that is in short supply of both, he will be missed by me personally as well as by all those he has helped spiritually throughout his life. Though it is my duty to attend the funeral it is also my honour to pay my last respects to His Holiness.
