| Sikandari Communist Party Office of the General Secretary |
April 19, 1953
To,
The General Secretary,
Worker's & Peasant's Party,
Vangala.
Dear Sir,
I wish to offer my profound gratitude for the Vangalan government taking note of the oppression being faced my Marxists in our country and the words of solidarity expressed by Minister Qamaruzzaman provide much needed boost to the morale of my party and its workers.
I do, however, wish to offer an apology, on behalf of the Party, for the curt statement issued publicly in response to the statement issued by the Vangalan External Affairs ministry, as the Party cannot afford to have any public displays of friendship present between the People's Republic and ourselves given the atmosphere here in Sikandara. It is my hope that my ideological brothers can understand our limitations and constraints.
While the situation presently is tense, I am sure that eventually these 150 loyal party members will be released, since the current government is simply using this affair as a means to distract the populace from its economic performance. We, your Marxist brothers on this side of the border, are used to such oppression. Whenever the government seeks to distract the people, it finds our Party the easiest scapegoat.
But a day shall come soon enough where the Marxist Revolution shall topple this corrupt imperial system that so plagues our land.
Sincerely,
Humayun Akhund
General Secretary SCP
The Sikandari Communists have an office based in a third-party country where all letters arrive, and it is from there that letters are hand delivered to the party headquarters in Shahdara. Countries should expect a delay of a week in communications, so please back-date your letters, so as to allow me to type them with today's date.
