The Hanseatic states under the leadership of their President Gunther has now shown that they have had no desires towards peaceful discussions about ending the conflict and have acted against the best interests of stability, dialogue, and peace. The Hanseatic States thinks it has the authority to decide the coalition that it itself had not been invited to partake in, as it was the state that had started the belligerency against its neighboring state of Caledonia. It now believes it can rewrite history to fit its agenda, claiming to be the victim when it was the first to strike in taking the channel islands, it was the first to foreign nation to spill Caledonian blood on those same very islands. Justifying its actions because it will not recognize the regime of Marr.
The world is about to set a dangerous precedent if it continues to allow and follow thru with remaining silent about the bloodshed that is occurring upon the Gaelic Isle. It will rewrite the decades if not centuries of precedent over the infallibility of a nations territorial integrity, that one only now needs to refuse recognition of a regime and launch a campaign with military forces and claim its not at war, that it has done no wrong.
In Gunthers own words
"paramilitary unit and military branch will be seen as terrorists. Caledonians fighting alongside such a terror regime will be given no quarter in combat.", that goes in itself against decades of law that state uniformed soldiers are combatants that are to be protected, taken care of and given quarter.
This coalition that was to be led by the Cantignians has the chance to still save itself, to show that it is best of humanity. It is why the Republic had answered the call to join the coalition, as we had already set ourselves on the mission of bringing an end to the conflict. If the other members of the coalition show that they choose instead to continue to allow the Hanseatic States, and include the Kingdom of Justosia into its folds as the Hanseatic States seems to think it is the leader of the coalition, then it will not display the greatest of humanity, it will just show that the path of violence is the answer henceforth from this point forward into the future. The only rejection to nations joining the coalition the republic has had is that of those states that are currently at war with each other, had another nation suggested the inclusion of Caledonia it would have seen the same rejection by the Republic that we had given the others.
The Republic of Azilia will not have the stain on its hands for such wreckless disregard for life or for peace. The Republic may have recognized the greenshirt regime, that does not make ourselves the villains it makes us the realists. The Caudillo does not support the Caledonian incursion as retaliation against the Hanseatic States either, but he does recognize the Caledonians right to defend their territorial borders irrespective of the regime just as it recognizes the right of the Hanseatics to resecure their border. Recognition of another state and the regime in control of the country is protocol for maintaining relations both politically and economically, it is not enough to label allies, our only allies are those in the Catholic Defense League. Our regime has used these relations to secure safe transit for foreign diplomats that were still stuck in the country, and would use these relations to attempt and see the release of the Groen hospital ship.
It is with this message that the Caudillo and the government of the Republic of Azilia issues one final call for peace. We request that the Caledonian military forces be withdrawn to the Caledonian border and that Marr remains committed to peace talks and negotiations on the future of Caledonia and the Gaelic Isle. That the Kingdom of Justosia immediately cease and desists military operations across the legally recognized international borders between Caledonia and Justosia. That the Hanseatic States withdraw their military forces from the channel islands that lawfully belong to the Caledonian people.
It is up to us, the international community, to apply the required amount of pressure to force all involved parties to the negotiation table. One of the three has stated a willingness, which could very well find itself retracted and greater atrocities be committed as they find themselves in more dire and desperate times, while one has ignored and the other has stated outright it will not negotiate nor will it recognize custom and law over combatants. If Caledonia was to withdraw its willingness to enter into negotiations the republic would be as critical of the Marr regime as it is of the others.
We do not ask that others join into the coalition and risk military lives, diplomatic and economic measures are pressure in their own ways. Nor do we turn away nations that are actively seeking to bring about a peaceful resolution that does not involve even more suffering for millions of people than they have already had to suffer. Conflict and bloodshed were the only avenues chosen right from the start, is this the example we wish for the world to recognize in the 21st century? Innocents have died, innocents will continue to die daily. It is not just one government that must answer, it is three.
Ask yourself, can you live knowing that you remained silent while this war raged on? If Marr was infact the one that carried out the chemical attack upon his own people, what will stop him from doing it upon those whom are attacking him? The lives of the innocent are at stake with the silence. If the world joins together and demands that all parties sit down in Josepania, agree to a ceasefire and withdraw to their own borders and negotiate. Economic pressure with the diplomatic pressure will not just apply pressure from the outside, but the inside as shelves become empty, businesses begin to close, but the body bags or attacks keep coming, the people will demand their governments to answer the call.
