Chancellor discusses blockade
Chancellor Carmelas told reporters this afternoon that the blockade was in no way intended to “increase or promote Frescanian power in the region. We are interested in maintaining the war in just Belmont and Coronado, any third party that enters the conflict is warned to not pass the strait or bring only casualties to their fellow citizens.”
The Chancellor also confirmed that Frescania and Breotonia had worked on an agreement that will allow neutral states to keep going through the strait, but any nation that Frescania had reason to know they would expand the conflict, would be free to be dealt with without Lunden interference. “We don't want war, but we will do anything within our power and responsibility as power in the region to maintain the conflict in those nations.”
When asked about the fact Frescania had not blockaded Belmont's western ports, the Chancellor told reporters that “it is unlikely that nations that want to help Belmont are in the north and west, but we are monitoring that region. If we have reasons to believe that armaments are being transported through that sector, we will send a fleet and blockade it.”
The country's navy has been joined by their Suionian counterpart. Both Suionia and Frescania have come to their aides through the mutual alliance they signed last year. Many experts believe this to be one of the testing moments of the alliance, with some even saying it could lead to an increase in members.
