Order of Talos recipients announced
The Directorate of Science and Technology has announced the names of the scientists selected to receive the prestigious Order of Talos. Each year the most prominent scientists, engineers and academics who have contributed to the advancement of the nation are selected to receive it.

Kostya Fedorov: Senior engineer at No. 17 State Metal Institute, for his breakthrough work in rigorously characterizing the combustion and flow characteristics of iron, boron and silicon particles in an air stream. His work was singled out for its immense practical value in creating more efficient iron burners and insights derived from it are already being incorporated into a new generation of clean iron burners slated for installation at the decommissioned Sokal oil-fired plant. It has been decided the No. 17 Institute will be renamed to the Fedorov Institute for Metallurgy in his honour.

Marianna Voitenko: Researcher at the Iriy Ecological Institute. Her thesis research studying the behavioural responses of different pollinator species and humans to a range of flower forms has provided material evidence of aesthetic truth in living organisms. Her research was singled out for novelty, rigour and contribution to the First Marshals principles. On account of her talents and age, she has been further nominated for the Mara Prize for young academics.

The Leader of the People orders mobilization
The Grand Marshal Diomid Leonidovych Mazepa decreed today in an address to the people that he ordered, effective within twenty-four hours, the general mobilization of the Rus People's Armies on land, sea, air and above. As as well known in all of Hradreych by now, with great malive, an alliance of international powers has fanned the flames of ethnic chauvinism in our neighbouring state, Bajorország, bringing about a hateful civil war. And now, without the slightest shame, these same vultures now purport they will "solve" the crisis they created by dismembering and occupying Bajorország's territory - bringing their military bases within sight of our sacred lands.

The Grand Marshal, our strong protector, has shouted back at them: No!

NO to the annexation of Bajorország
NO to Germanic chauvinism
NO to Federation bases in our hinterland
NO to Remion's craven schemes

The Grand Marshal speaks with the voice of the Rus. No to this madness! Bajorország is not our land, but the fires they have lit now lap at our borders. By what right do they threaten us? The bones of our enemies will fertilize the black earth.

The Rus are a great-hearted people, and the Leader is a great-hearted man. Nobody with eyes to see or ears to hear denies there has been great tumult in Bajorország. The Leader has reached out to his fellows in the world and asked them to work with him in the European Federation to bring an amicable resolution to the crisis and alleviate the people's suffering, but they remain blinded by greed.

If a sharp blow to the head is what it will take to lift the scales from their eyes, then so be it say us!

Iriy White Wolves stage mock denunciation of San Jose
There was great revelry at the General Nazar Sports Palace in Iriy, as the local White Wolves patriotic sporting association, gathered for an impromptu ceremony to "curse" San Jose after the tiny island nation has the temerity to disregard the Leader's stern warnings. The young men decided the best recourse would be to invoke the Navka, spirits of dead girls which are a staple of schoolgirl's horror stories, to curse San Jose and drag the welches down to hell.

For their ceremony, the White Wolves gathered together everything associated with San Jose they could find: Flags, coconuts, a large amount of plastic tropical foliage, straw hats and other beach paraphernalia and other knickknacks, and the lot of it was burnt in a pyre on the football pitch. A great deal of rum was also assembled but a wise young man suggested it would be better dealt with personally.

City police stopped by to check on the proceedings after the flames reached high enough to be visible from nearby homes, but after seeing firsthand the young men's patriotic enthusiasm declined to interfere with the revelry.

Random Eiffellandian: "Die spinnen, die Russen."
Another random Eiffellandian: "Ils sont fous, les Russes."

OOC 1: Die spinnen, die Russen / Ils sont fous, les Russes = They're crazy, the Russians

OOC 2: I am linguisticly struggling a bit with the word Rus. What would it become in German and French? I decided to go with how the Germans and the French refer to Russians: Der Russe - Die Russen / Le Russe - les Russes.

Peace through stength?
The bold declaration of the Leader, which laid bare the vulture schemes in Bajororszag, has forced the leaders of the world to the negotiating table. Recognizing this the Leader has decreed that today, the seventh day since his declaration, the movement of Rus forces towards the western border will not commence.

With stern words rather than stern blows the Leader halted the advance of foreign powers intto Bajororszag. And now the Leader has directed our diplomats to carry the struggle onwards, to prevent foreign powers from encroaching on our sacred borders. But always mindful of the duplicity of foreign states, the Leader has declined to rescind the mobilization order, instructing all our forces to remain at heightened alert.

Should the schemers in Remion or Eiffelland mistake our magnamity for gentleness, the Rus stand ready to remind them.
