Notícias sobre Aurea e o Mundo :-: Desde de 1808 :-: Autorizado Por Sua Graça o Imperador
Ano Azul :-: Dia 27 de Novembro de 1954 :-: Versão Nº 2362
Diamantina :-: Deforestation in the Macarozia forest, one of the largest forest in Occidente, dropped 8% over the past 4 months, falling to the second-lowest level in 1950s, Aurea’s Environment Ministro said on Sunday.
Eduardo Farias told participants at The Imperial 1954 Conference that 1,070 square miles of forest were destroyed.
The figures were down during the same period a year earlier, in the wake of the adoption of a controversial bill revising the Forest Imperial Law. The measure, which passed in 1952 after more than a decade-long effort by Aurea agricultural lobby, mostly eased restrictions for landowners with smaller properties, allowing them to clear land closer to riverbanks.
Many environmental groups had been warning of a second consecutive spike in the annual deforestation numbers, as the forest continues to be razed to make way for grasslands for cattle grazing, soy plantations and logging. Eduardo farias insisted the numbers were accurate.
Rio de Ouro :-: Rio de Ouro has opened its first free beach following a mayor decision. Since 1890, all the Aurean beachs were particular.
Liberdade beach, an hour’s drive from the city centre, will now welcome those who can not pay for an day in the beach, marking a historic point in Aurea's History.
Paula Nogueira, Baroness of Porto Hélio and one of the advisors of the Mayor, described as a “courageous decision by the mayor.”
Speaking to O Imperial she said: “It will help Rio do Ouro become a cultural and tourist reference point, especially with the city about to celebrate its 200th anniversary in some days.”
