Results showed a resounding view against the International House, with 76% of voters voting against joining the organization. The results while not binding, certainly give Her Majesty's Government the support against the opposition in the debate against joining. This will likely put Østveg in the same camp as her allies, the Sylvanians who have yet to send anyone to Ivernia for the organization either. Her Majesty's Queen Inger Lise was present in Kristiania to announce the results of the votes and when asked, stated that the impact of the vote did not startle any negative feelings in her. "I'm Austwegian, and Ivernia used to be home. I can return there any time, with or without an organization. I don't need excuses for anything." Chancellor Bakken has kept mum on a great deal of many foreign policy issues as of recent and Austwegian policy has found itself closer and closer to isolationism over the past six months. The creation of which places Nordmarka in a unique position that seemingly embraces its Occidental geography as it attempts to relate to its neighbors. The Vestemøte, is expected to displace the International House in the Occident. Prime Minister Nieuwenburg stated, "The International House is something of a plague to the Occident in my opinion. The Vestemøte leaves the Occident with the ability to deal with the potential problems that arise in the Occident. Why should anyone as far away as Yujin have a bearing on what happens in the west?" With Nieuwenburg's statement in mind, the purpose of this body would appear to be a means to put Nordmarka on the map. Nordmarka being a territory of Østveg, does not have a real political agenda to push. Instead here, Nordmarka can make itself a staging point for all Occidental discussion. It may hope that due to the trust that may exist in many of the Occidental governments in Østveg, some of that good will may spill over to Nordmarka, although how Occidentals view Nordmarka is yet to be seen. Much of the Kingdom's first thoughts of the world have been shaped by the Government of Chancellor Solveig Bakken and her calm and steady demeanor that she's presented to the public. This was quite contrary to the first impression she gave to Austwegians after her victory in which it appeared a promiscuous and bubbly girl had won. Her temperament quickly changed in her first months and much of how she's done her work has been through the voice of her Foreign Minister Kristin Ragnhild Haavi. The current coalition between the Liberal Høyre (Liberal Right Party), Monarchist Center Party (Monarkistiske Senterpartiet) and the Konservativpartiet (Conservative Party), will be put to the test by the opposition Republikanske partiet (Republican Party) which nearly reached a majority without the coalition, and held the largest percentage of votes for a single party alone. A key question for Østveg moving forward is if the results of the most recent Austwegian referendum on the International House, highlights who should be expected to win. In that referendum, the opinion of the Government held up and with that opinion, is it possible for the nation to so soon afterwards elect a party which they just so publicly disagreed with? The Republican Party will have to work hard to counteract that, especially since their strength in the previous election was the Republican movement in Fey, a backing that may not be so large with Fey now seeing economic growth since the past election cycle, even if that growth may be due to Sylvanian economic support. While it is entirely expected that another individual shall take power in Sylvania, the question at hand remains if such an individual can be as effective as President Rygaard was. Rygaard was as effective as he was due to his ability to navigate Sylvania's tricky political waters. A nation oft inclined to remain isolated, the trend appears to have returned since Rygaard's death. Observant in this has been Sylvania's neighbors, and perhaps even as far as Vithrais, as rumors have struck that they intend to join the newly created Western Moot in Nordmarka. The question the rises is if Østveg must take a lead role in preventing what has been gained by President Rygaard, from falling to pieces. Is it that the Vithraisians seek to gain influence in the Occident via the Nordmarker attempt at regional peaceful cohesion? If so, it may prove disastrous to the Tripartite Members, and Austwegian influence. A major question for this upcoming election is what the various parties feel about the massive void left by the death of President Rygaard, and how it may just result in future policy abroad and at home. The Commonwealth of Camden stands together with their northern friends from the Kingdom of Ostveg. The creation of the Western Moot may be the most important diplomatic event in the western hemisphere of this year. We are gladly supporting its creation as it is our firm belief that the International House in Alderburgh is too far away from the realities and mentalities in Occidentia and it will be hard for our nations to manage to communicate in it. On the other side, the creation of the Moot is the best chance of our generation to create a long lasting diplomatic forum in which the western nations can conduct their diplomacy, so that the world may continue to live in peace and prosperity.

I am instructed to declare, in the name of the parliament of the Commonwealth of Camden and of the Folk of Camden, that the bill proposing the Camdenite ascension in the Western Moot has been voted and approved by the deputies and signed by the Lady Protector, the Honorable Deanna Bowman. From this day on, Camden officially declares itself a part of the construction of peace in Occidentia. The Honorable Ryan McCormick has been appointed by the Prime Minister, The Honorable Bradley Ross to represent Camden and its folk in the Moot, provided that the Kingdom of Ostveg will approve of our participation in this forum.

The results put a clear dent into the Republican Party's goal to take the Folkting, and remove the Monarchy. The leadership consenting, that for their party to win elections, it will likely have to drop the goal of Republican country, conceding that, "The Kingdom has not been so bad for us, but we still hold true to our beliefs that no single person should be born into their position." The Republicans lost seats, while their coalition partners the Social Democrats, and People's Party's saw growth comparatively. Yet it is important to note as a whole they lost seats, due to the massive losses of the Republicans. KRISTIANIA — The Nordic Games began with great fanfare as the Austwegian people gathered in Kristiania to watch a special performance by the Kristiania Symphony Orchestra accompanied by fireworks and dancers. The athletes gathered in the open air stadium according to their towns or regions, wearing festive regional costume. The Nordic Games which has been sponsored by Queen Inger Lise has been put on as the championships of winter sports. She lit a candle to represent the beginning of the games, and the candle has been placed in the courtyard of the Royal Palace. There, the flame shall not be extinguished until the closing ceremonies, as royal guards work by changing candles every six hours, but maintaining the same flame. The candle sits in a specially made house at the front of the courtyard for public viewing. The sports to take place are largely snow related in general. With an ice hockey tournament and various ski competitions featured. Both man and woman take part in the Games, with the Queen herself to take part in a down hill country ski race. While she is not expected to win, she has stated whole-heartily, "The purpose of these games is to bring us all together to enjoy the games that we love... I think both as a people, but yes, a country as well. May the world have much to observe here." KRISTIANIA — The Bakken Government began its winter exercises for the Royal Austwegian Navy in the Gothic Sea this morning. The exercises featured a crisis scenario and is rumored to be reminiscent of the scrambling that might occur in the event of another crisis in which the Government may find foreign intervention in the event of another succession crisis. While this sort of crisis is unlikely, the Navy was not clear on the exact ramification of their exercise. All countries neighboring the Gothic Sea were notified of the exercise in order to avoid collision or mis-purposed aggression. Østveg as of recent has begun to see itself as something outside of the previous tripartite accords, as rumors from insiders in Kristiania have suggested that the Bakken Government no longer believes it can assure protection from these allies. As such, solo military operations as these may become more common place. A subject which is rumored to have fractured the Tripartite Accord, attracting disrepute from both Sylvania and Østveg. The death of President Rygaard in Sylvania dealt a massive blow to Sylvanian policy as its leadership seems to have recommitted to pre-Rygaard policies, which avoided international conflict and affairs as much as possible. This change in power dynamics as Ivernia appears to be in civil unrest and possible civil war, has left Østveg as the last major power of the Tripartite Accord and struggling to comprehend its place in a more unbalanced world. The Bakken Government is nearing its Constitution Day celebration announcements on the 26th, commemorating the Austwegian Constitution that was formed in 1953. These announcements may hold the key to future policy and give Europe a more general idea of what to expect from the famed Nordic Kingdom. More than ever, it appears that a likely challenger may have been lined up to contend with the only Chancellor modern Østveg has known. Key events including a railroad scandal in which payouts to key party officials have sunk poll ratings for her and her party, as well as the formal establishment of a monarchist opposition party has lit the way for a well contended race. Previous elections found Bakkens party facing off against Republican parties which hoped to abolish the monarchy. However, the wounds were too fresh from the Nordic Civil Conflict of three years ago and these parties only found support in territories and rural regions which found themselves near the epicenter of the Republican movement. Fast forward to today, and it would seem as thought a Center-left party which is also monarchist, may take the lead. It's unknown who they will recommend as Chancellor though, as private talks within the opposition have yet to provide any real details. Officially, they are expected to announce on November 1st. With this being a Sunday, they would not be expected to have the paperwork submitted and announced until November 2nd. Even still, Chancellor Bakken does not appear to be sweating it. She holds a weak 44% approval rating, but her oppositions choice, should it prove poor may still see her profit and win reelection. Austwegians go to the polls on December 1st.
