National Elections Announced!
At midnight in Little Spasciria (or the Spascirian Republic), the Premier, VichyCha Aldewaiss, announced the invocation of Article 5 of the Briutine Accords, to pave the way for national elections to be held.
The Premier revealed the invocation from the National Palace. He announced by radio, “I have invoked article 5 of the Briutine Independence Agreement. With immediate effect, the government of the day will authorise the formation of an Electoral Commission whose functions are to schedule, coordinate, and undertake the necessary tasks for a National Election to be held within 48 hours, to elect 2o custodians to a legislative body, which shall submit their confidence for a candidate of their choice, to take up the Premiership. God be with all Spascirians, and Peace be!”
The Print has requested various social leaders for their comments on the matter.
Firstly, we’ll hearing from the incumbent vice-premier, Cynthia Cardhouse.
In her words: “We must be brave to uphold our rights as a dignified people. We must not be afraid nor frightened to do what is right for ourselves and our families. I urge all Spascirians to go out and vote, today is not for rest nor party, today is history. Whether history shall be in our favour, that is up to you to decide. God be with all!
Secondly, we’ll be hearing from a grassroots leader of the ruling party.
In his words: Everyone is happy for VichyCha, and for themselves. We have fulfilled fate, a task given unto us by God. There is nothing to complain about. Spascirians have to vote for the SNF, so that this success can continue! Otherwise, I fear the return of Angliarisian conquest. God be with all! And Peace be!
Thirdly, we’ll be hearing from a Spascirian man who just arrived from Carpathia.
In his words: Carpathia is a hell-hole! It… it is horrible. I want all Spascirians to know, that your vote counts. Vote for the SNF, for VichyCha and for ourselves. We must kick away Angliarique! Never shall we return!
Finally, we’ll be hearing from a religious leader of the Protestant faith.
In the words of his holiness: The might of God will triumph above all else. It is his wish for the SNF to win! For Spascirians it must! Those who doubt the SNF, doubt God. We must set ourselves free of heretics and those decadent followers of unnatural behaviours. God be with all, and Peace be!

Polling Opens With Three-Cornered Fight
An estimated 600,000 eligible voters are heading to their polling stations today. Most political analysts working overtime for ‘The Print’ believe that the incumbent premier will stay on, with a supermajority in the Republic’s unicameral legislature, the Smol. The legislative body represents 20 constituencies in the Spascirian Republic, with 20 seats.
As of the declaration of approved nominees by the Electoral Commission, there are 3 political parties vying for control of the Smol:
A major contender and the ruling-party, the Spascirian Nationalist Front, overthrew the Angliarique oppressors and liberated the Spascirian people through the Briutine Accords, and is seen as the ‘Saviour’ of the Spascirian people by most in the Republic. The events of fighting for liberation and recognition by their Angliarique counterparts, have given enormous credibility to the party as a leader of the people.
A minor contender and splinter group of the SNF, the Spascirian Independence Party, is comprised of a few hundred detractors from the SNF, who withdrew their support for the party, when it was revealed that the SNF had signed agreements with the Angliarique Office of Economic Affairs for the handover of the Spascirian Labour Council. The agreement and subsequent handover, are speculated by the detractors to be a deal with the devil, and thus betrayal to Spascirian dignity. They are campaigning for absolute independence, and have called for the Premier to resign over his dealings with the Office of Economic Affairs.
A controversial contender in this race, the Return Party, is campaigning publicly for a return to Angliarique suzerainty. And Spascirian cultural assimilation into Angliarisian society. Many Spascirians especially from the SNF, have called on the government to probe the Return Party for sedition, some others have even gone to the extent of inciting violence against members of the party.
Members of the Smol, are known as, the Custodians. After the National Elections, the Custodians will voice their confidence for one among themselves, to become the Premier. The Premier will then go on to form his cabinet, of which the members are known as Deputies.

SNF Grabs Smol, No Supermajority
The Electoral Commission has concluded the Spascirian Republic’s first National Election. With voter turnout standing at 70% or an estimated 420,000 ballots cast. The Chairman of the Commission announced:
“By the Eternal Grace of God Almighty… The Smol is given its first breath. On the thirty-first day of January in the year two thousand and twenty four, the Spascirian Nationalist Front is accorded thirteen seats, the Spascirian Independence Party is accorded six seats, the Return Party is accorded one seat. The elected custodians have ten days to elect a Premier among themselves. God be with all, and Peace be!”
The incumbent Premier, VichyCha Aldewaiss, celebrated the SNF’s victory with other party figures at the National Palace.
The Premier later announced, “I am resigning the Premiership, for the orderly promulgation of a constitutional clause which sets in motion the election for a Premier among Custodians of the Smol. The first session of the Smol will begin tomorrow, where elected candidates will be sworn in officially as Custodians, and where the first business shall be to elect the Premier."
