Modern MBT utilizing locally made systems.

Type-070 "Trisun"

The Trisun, named after the weapon of the Goddess Durga, is an aging model first introduced to the SDF in the seventies as a hand-me-down upgrade of a tank developed in the 1940's by Cassiopeia. The Kali has proven it's worth, however, in several engagements with Communist T-62 tanks, and is more than effective enough to cause damage. However, the tank is aging; and the SDF plans to develop a new tank.

1.1.3 APC's and IFV's
Type-86 "Suraya"

The Suraya, named after a solar diety, is the principle urban combat vehicle for the SDF, providing for a viable infantry fighting vehicle more than capable of dealing damage to enemy infantry. Fit with two tower housed machine guns, and two pintle mounted machine guns on the rear, and capable of carrying 10 infantry, this vehicle has withstood the test of time and remains the vehicle of choice for SDF Urban Combat Operations.

Type-08 "Parvati"

The Parvati is a recent design off a hull questionably obtained from the Levantine States. The transport lacks a real turret, but retains the Merkava's legendary survivability; the infantry within this transport are likely to endure many more battles than the one they're in.

1.2 Firearms
1.2.1 Assault Rifles
Type-89 "Varunastra"

The Type-89 Varunastra is a relatively unremarkable design, similar to many other assault rifles of it's type. It is known as the "Buddy" by it's users, it is almost universally fitted with imported reflex sights to allow quick target acquisition. It serves as the principle combat rifle of the SDF despite the Cobra's improved attributes due to the Cobra's increased cost.
Specifications
Weight: 3.5 kg (7.7 lb)
Length: 916 mm (36.1 in), (670 mm (26.4 in) with Howa Type 89-F)
Barrel length: 420 mm (16.5 in)
Cartridge: 5.56x45mm
Action: Gas-operated
Rate of fire: 750 RPM
Muzzle velocity: 920 m/s
Effective range: 500 m
Feed system: 20/30-Round Magazines
Sight: Reflex sight

Type-04 "Cobra"

The Cobra was developed as a weapon for particularly close quarters combat, as well as mechanized infantry units which were deployed from the compact compartments of IFV's. The bullpup design has taken time for the SDF soldiers to become accustomed to, while the built-in MARS sight of the gun has increased cost. However, the SDF views these costs as necessary, as the SDF doctrine places high value on soldier life. Also commonly used variants include the marksman variety, and a compact version used for commando's.
Specifications
Weight: 3.27 kg (7.21 lb)
Length: 720 mm (28.3 in)
Barrel length: 460 mm (18.1 in)
