As is undoubtedly known to all, an egregious crime was committed against Pelasgian player Dimitrius Kalyvis with new evidence emerging that has fundamentally changed the case before him. In response, the Pelasgian Empire has engaged in a disinformation campaign, even here, of suggesting that two rogue employees of a private airline somehow constitute the combined power of the Nanukan Courts, Law Enforcement, and Government to engage in a bizarre and convoluted conspiracy for no other reason that pettiness over losing a hockey match.

We appreciate the Pelasgian Ice Hockey Federation's ask to not play in Nanuka - it is sensible under the circumstances. We further agree with the 2025 World Cup's decision to grant it, as again - it is sensible.

What is not sensible is to ban the Nanukan Team for playing due to baseless accusations of a bizarre and convoluted conspiracy from a country whose government has referred to Nanuka as degenerate and corrupt.

The Pelasgian Ice Hockey Federation wishes to file an official complaint against the Republic of Nanuka. Given the unlawful detainment of a player of the Pelasgian National Team and the planting of drugs in his baggage by the Nanukan Authorities, we feel that the Nanukan Team should be penalised for the conduct of their country, which tried to avenge a loss in this league through illegal and unethical means.

We thus official request that the Nanukan Team be eliminated from this league, or that they at least lose points as a penalty, to disincentivise such conduct from the Nanukan authorities in the future. We also request that no future games take place in Nanuka. Our team will not be participating in any games in Nanuka due to safety concerns.​

Global Ice Hockey Federation

While the events surrounding the arrest of Dimitrius Kalyvis are regrettable, we have not seen any evidence that members of the Nanukan national team were responsible for the planting of evidence in Mr. Kalyvis' baggage. Therefore we will not seek to penalize the Nanukan national team at this time. The GIHF strongly condemns any attempts to affect the outcome of this tournament and hopes that we will see Mr. Kalyvis back on the ice for the next phase of this tournament.
