The Swieczieman Imperium that we overthrew almost three decades ago was not the Golden Swieczieman Imperium forged by our forefathers, which by the will of the Almighty rose grandiosely from the ashes of the Tiburan Empire's Sarmatian holdings like a Phoenix. It was a failing and corrupt despotic regime whose proponents had long lost sight and forgotten of the ideals for which the true, original Golden Swieczieman Imperium of old stood for. But our people were given graciousness by the Almighty, and we persevered.

Only when the Fallen Imperium resorted to outright tyranny and oppression of its own people, the destruction of our human freedoms, did we act. For it was by this heinous crime against our people, against the Almighty, that the Cezar lost his divine mandate, his imperium, in the classical Tiburan sense of the word. Our Veterans and Steel Heroes understood this fact, and with the aid of the faithful Church, encouraged the people to rise up, to fight for their god-given rights and freedoms, which the Fallen Imperium had attempted to take away.

And as it were with the will of the Almighty for us to succeed in this revolution and establish our own governance, to steer ourselves back to the path envisaged by the progenitors of the original, Golden Swieczieman Imperium. As they had risen out from under the shadow of barbarism that threatened them after the fall of Tibur, so too that we rose out from under the shadow of corruption that had plagued the fall of Giecz. Today, one generation later, we stand at the threshold to a new era, where the true successor to the Golden Swieczieman Imperium has now begun to reach a head in its maturity.

We can never thank our Veterans and Steel Heroes enough for the sacrifices they have done for the sake of the Swieczieman people. Like parents, they have watched over and guided us for a whole generation since the Revolution. Many of the faces I see standing before me today, are young. To you, the Glorious Steel Revolution is perhaps remembered as nothing more than a dream from your distant childhoods. Perhaps, even further, the Steel Revolution, to you, is a tale of history from your parents, or even from books. Many of the other faces I see are more mature, and wiser with experience. You have lived through the horrors of the Fallen Imperium, of the tragedy that sparked the Steel Revolution. You witnessed and worked through our new beginning. The Revolution may be a distant memory, but it is a memory that can never be forgotten.

I am neither, and I am both. The Almighty has blessed me with a perspective... to see it as a child, and to remember it as an adult. And for that, I implore you, the citizens of this Great Swieczieman Union, to hear my plea. Help me usher in this new era, take my hand and let me aid you in stepping through this threshold. Our elders, who have seen much of both times and are rife with experience, lend us your knowledge and wisdom! Our youth, a generation raised entirely in the light of our Great Union, lend us your strength and your eagerness! Together, we shall bring forth prosperity and glory to the Swieczieman People, a light that will shine as a beacon unto the world!"

FRS: So, Miss Stukowa, first off, and I'm sure our listeners are also anxious to know... how are you holding up?

LS: [clears throat] Liljana is fine. Papa was moved into intensive care this morning. The doctors had said to expect it any day now, and... well, it was expected. I'm sad, but certainly not shocked. The way he talked and moved, it was the same as any other day before his diagnosis... but if you saw him, he was clearly unwell.

FRS: Yes, the Premier certainly has that quality of strength about him.

LS: He is a true Swieczieman, with a God-given tenacity that stands... at a different level. The doctors gave him three months.

FRS: And it's already been fourteen.

LS: Yes. That kind of determination is a trait that I greatly admire... that I follow.

FRS: Would you consider your father an ideal role model?

LS: Absolutely. He's authoritative, but not authoritarian. The four of us, whenever we were about to do something, ah, potentially dangerous, he'd warn us, but let us learn the lesson for ourselves. He raised us as a very well-balanced family. And... [sniff] I... I love him so much.

FRS: Assuming Fencing was an included event, how would the present situation affect the possibility of your leading your team to the Exposition?

LS: [five seconds dead air] I would go.

FRS: You would?

LS: Yes. We talked last night. It... it was different from other times, even though we did it often, and... well... [ulp] You know that feeling when it's like... you want to say so much, but don't have enough time, so you just unload everything in your head? It wasn't like that. We had a sort of mutual understanding. He was saying goodbye. And... and well... I've already... said all there was to say to him. The bottom line, is that we love each other. He said... he... he said I should grab whatever opportunities would come by. That... that he'd be watching over me. "Collige, virgo, rosas". He didn't tell me directly... but... I knew he was talking about that. The... Fencing Event, I mean. I mean, yes. It's sad. It's very sad. He won't be with us for much longer. And only the Almighty knows the pain we - the family - feels. But I have no regrets. He lived not just a full life... he lived a full life with us in the picture. He was always there for us. There... there's really nothing left to say. I know he's going to a better place.... where he will watch over us... That's why... I would go.

FRS: I see. Is there anything else you'd like to tell our listeners?

LS: Please... please don't cry. Papa wouldn't want you to cry. He's fought... fought the good fight... and is finishing the race. It's the same for all of us. One day, we will be reunited with the Almighty.

It has been announced to be an open affair. During this period until the end of his state funeral, the flags of the Mezhist Union, the Upper Swieczieman Federative Mezhist Republic, and its constituent Republics, will all be raised to half mast in a federation-wide commemoration.=

"He was a man of family, and a man of the state. A man of the people, and a man of the individual. But most importantly, he was a man of integrity, a man of faith, and a man of God. Office of the General Executive of International Affairs​

The passing of the titan Walentyn Stukow is felt in Lower Swiecziema as well, and the mood is one of shocked grief. We had known for some time that the Premier's days were numbered, that the Almighty was calling one of his best creations home, but, perhaps, all Swiecziemans refused to acknowledge this inevitability, hoping against hope that the Premier would overcome death itself, as he overcame the Fallen Imperium at Eternal Premier Dawid Grudzinski's side. But we have been brought back to reality, and it is a time for mourning of the passing of such a great man, rivaled only by our Eternal Premier.

The Lower Swieczieman Confederative Mezhist Republic sends its deepest condolences to our brothers and sisters in Upper Swiecziema, and will join them in mourning as we lower our flag and the flags of our constituent republics to half-mast, to show solidarity in this time of hardship. We shall also attend the State Funeral, headed by the Hegemon Jozef Grudzinski himself, to give our final honors. Finally, through all this grief, we must focus on the positive, the silver lining in these many dark clouds, and congratulate Benedykt Stukow on his ascension to the Premiership of the Upper Swieczieman Federative Mezhist Republic, long may he lead at the side of our Hegemon.

=Hundreds of thousands of Citizens, along with honoured guests, gathered at Bogumierz Palace today, to say their final farewells to a great man, a great leader, and a great hero, Premier Walenty Stukow.=

[The viewer is treated to a grandiose commemorative parade as citizens on the sidelines weep and do other associatively mournful things]

=It was a day of good weather, with the rain clouds that punctuated the past week clearing away in first a ray of light, until finally, the sun first showed its full glory in seven days. Nevertheless, last weeks rain clouds did not deter the Citizen, tens of thousands of whom lined up for hours to see the Premier in his most serene state during the viewing and Funeral Mass last Wednesday.=

[Cut to footage of citizens at the wake, lined up on the inside of St. Michael's Cathedral in Giecz, while outside the structure itself crowded many, many more.]

=This clear day was no doubt a sign from the Almighty that it was indeed the right time to hold this momentous funeral. Unlike much of the past week, there were very few clouds in the sky, but just enough for a comfortable walk. The funeral march from St. Michael's Basilica to Bogumierz Palace took a grand total of nine hours, as hundreds of thousands joined the mourning, and the Federal Bureau of Transportation was required to rerouted much of the growing automotive traffic in Giecz to circumvent the route.=

=Premier Benedykt Stukow declared a special non-working holiday, and so every citizen was free to join the funeral march. Indeed, there was not much traffic to speak of, as most of the would-be drivers were already part of the crowd. Countless citizens drove in or took the trains from as far as Wyrzysk the past week in order to be part of the commemoration.=

[Cut to footage of busy train stations and highways]

=The procession and last rights went by without a hitch, with Patriarch Honok XII personally overseeing the ritual.=

[Cut to footage of a highly decorated coffin on an elaborate funeral car accompanied by all the bells and whistles of a major procession, as it goes through the streets (crowd following closely behind) and through onto the palace grounds, finally settling in a courtyard, where hundreds of soldiers await to present honours.]

=The Premier was given a 27 gun salute in accordance with an act issued by the Federal Council. A special once-only event, the use of 27 rounds has been reserved only for the late Premier, and is indeed higher than the 24 rounds once used in commemoration of Cezars.=

[Cut to a battery of nine guns firing thrice.]

=General Broni* Idzi Karaczun served as the military host, while eight Generalowie Dywizji** served as pallbearers, carrying the late Premier's coffin.=

[Cut to footage showing the coffin being carried by said eight generals.]

=Premier Benedykt gave a eulogy in tears as his father was given the greatest possible honours that could be availed in the Union, and finally laid to rest, interred in a special mausoleum.=

[Cut to a snippet of Benedykt's speech.]

"... there will never be another man like him to lead this Federation. We will forever mourn his passing and commemorate his great deeds..."

=The Premier's family and close friends were allowed a final viewing, with the glass removed to allow last kisses to our departed hero.=

[Cut to footage of the Premier's family and close friends approaching the coffin for the final viewing. The crowd keeps to a respectable distance away from all the surrounding soldiers.]

=Premier Benedykt further made an announcement.=

"... which is why I motion to our esteemed Federal Council that the title of "Premier of the Upper Swieczieman Federative Mezhist Republic" be reserved only for my late father. I further motion that I be granted the title "Nadzorca", Overseer of the Upper Swieczieman Federative Mezhist Republic..."

=Citizens were not surprised at this turn of events, and there were no violent reactions to the motion. However, we were nevertheless met with an actual surprise in Patriarch Honok XII, who near the end of the ceremony announced:=

"... I hereby decree that His Excellency shall be granted the venerable title and station of "Premier Apostle", to be honoured and venerated as one of our great Saints, along with Saint Michael, Saint Weronika, and Saint Bogumierz... I motion that the Federal Council make this an official station, in accordance with the implementation of "Nadzorca" as the new title for the Federation's head of state..."

=Premier Stukow was interred at 7:29 PM, Swieczieman Central Time, in a specially built mausoleum. His memory will last forever.=

=The Federal Council has begun discussion of Premier Benedykt's and Patriarch Honok's proposals, and will make a vote once all discourse is completed. This week has been declared a national week of mourning for the passing of Premier Walenty Stukow. Flags will continue to remain at half mast until its conclusion.=

It is with a heavy heart that the people and government of the Confederative Mezhist Republic of Lower Swiecziema has expresses its final farewells to a giant amongst men, a titan, indeed a man much deserving of the title Premier Apostle, equaled only by the Eternal Premier, Dawid Grudzinski. Nadzorca, for we heartily endorse his proposal, Stukow's speech moved many a Lower Swieczieman to tears, and Hegemon Grudzinski wishes to convey, both in private and public, his deepest condolences to Nadzorca Stukow for his profound loss, and admiration of his own humility and perspective in such a trying time. He would also wish to make it known, that in the brightest of days, and the darkest of nights, that he and all of Lower Swiecziema will never abandon our brothers and sisters in Upper Swiecziema, we will always be there to help them up should they fall, console them in grief, and stand by their side when besieged by enemies. For we are brothers in blood, in ideology, and in faith.

The Realm sends its deepest condolences and stands in ready support of the Upper Swiecziema, a nation left reeling in sorrow most deep. Premier Stukow was a friend dear and true to all the Great Danish, a man who stood for the values which we hold most close to our heart through times most prosperous and the most lean. Where others shuddered, recoiled, and were buffeted in the storms of adversity, Premier Stukow remained steadfast, solid as granite, imbued with the age-old concepts of decency, integrity, honour and truth, such totems oft forgotten in the contemporary age. A brother if not of blood, one certainly of conviction.

As Sarmatia mourns the passing of this man of true nobility, it gives us great comfort to see the country in safe hands, in those of his son who we are sure will be exemplary in his conduct and will strive and succeed in emulating the example set by his most esteemed father.

The Dannebrog will flutter at half-mast across the Imperium in outward recognition of the solidarity and respect we have for the Premier and as a supreme token of esteem, the Realm shall bequeath the posthumous honour of the Cinnoberrødtronerorden, the Order of the Vermilion Throne.
