• Scepter Gabriel Abeloth, our supreme leader left a meeting early this morning with the Guardian Council and spoke on economic concerns some were harboring at the rampant liberalization of the state industries. The Scepter had dismissed previous complaints from individual councilors proclaiming, "These are the last gaps of corruption longing to maintain its stranglehold on our shared economic well being. I have no patience for such selfishness." He pointed out that three more prominent critics of the Scepters efforts to lessen the states control over many of economic industries were from the families who had the most power over said industries. "The twelve families of our nation, that from each a councilor is drawn should put aside their egos for the welfare of those unborn to privilege and rank such as ourselves."
  
  That the Scepter spoke at the Council meeting was a sign to some that the fears were spreading to other members of the council. Gabriel needed to quell a potential revolt amongst the twelve member council or risk seeing a coalition rise, that put aside the bitter feuds that plague the factions. This coalition could in theory muster the 7 votes to overrule the Scepter and weaken his power. At this moment none of the councilors, including the most prominent opponents of Gabriel's continuing efforts to deregulate the economy from the state (i.e. family control) have spoken to the media on the matter.

• Several fishing villages in the Northeast, a stronghold of the Markios family, are back at work today after suspected sabotage sunk the fishing fleets from the villages over two week period. Authorities believe it was deliberately undertaken to humiliate the Markios family, which had been weakened after opposing the Scepter's reelection last year. Other families have been trying to cash in on the momentary weakness and have pushed into the territory of the once dominant Northeastern family.
  
  Members of the National Police Force were dispatched last month to put down a riot incited by opposing families in port city of Torrence, long thought the untouchable fortress of a family that has wielded major influence over the previous three scepters (two of which hailed from the family itself.)
  
  The Abeloth family, from which Scepter Gabriel hails, and a longtime rival has denied any involvement in the these matters.
  
  
  [*] General Valden Karr, who has been tasked with the military modernization over the past several years was given Blue Star for his efforts so far. The Blue Star is one of the civilian awards bestowed on individuals by the Scepter who have shown extraordinarily character.
  
  Under his supervision, the armed forces have seen much better days than in the past. Individual brigades, fighter squadrons and even battleships in the olden days were often at the whim of the prime families and serve as their own personal armies.
  
  The General has been commended by many, including Scepter Gabriel for breaking down the importance of family allegiance in the military, and replacing those feelings with loyalty towards Drakun in its place. He has also been lauded for the new found emphasis placed on the navy and air force. For years those two branches stagnated, but new life has been breathed into those departments with some estimates saying that funding has doubled for the two branches at the expense of the military.
  
  The elders of the Karr family are known to be immensely proud of General Valden.

The Speech will be given outside the Hæstur Palace, residence of Gabriel

Scepter Gabriel is set to give what is being billed as a major foreign policy address. International outlets are being sought for broadcasting, and transcripts of the speech are being printed up for international distribution. The speech will be given in front of the newly constructed Hæstur Palace, built in the center of the capital and now serves as the residence of the reigning Scepter. The palace, meant to both inspire and awe the world was designed to emulate Drakunian culture's and no doubt its effect on the international community.

Details of the speech are being kept under wraps but, several overarching themes have been confirmed by sources close to Gabriel. Drakunism, The Scepter's developing ideology is expected to be outlined in detail and become the backbone of the nation's foreign policy. One source summarized the speech for The Daily, "It will be a strong, forceful speech announcing Drakun's emergence on the international stage in a new way. The Scepter fully intends to shake the ground with the conviction of his words and instigate the worship of the Drakunian Imperium, which is long overdue. "

The Scepter has long held the view that the Imperium must engage in world affairs, in order to exert its inherent supremacy and make the globe more secure and deserving of future Drakunian generations. The liberalization of the economy, the first ever appointment of a Executor of Foreign Affairs and new found emphasis on the armed forces are part of a three pronged strategy to have the Imperium fill the vacuum of a leading, moral power to serve as, "The North Star, of which all other nations will aspire too and follow without heed to past false-beliefs." That effort, which has been labeled "The Accession Effort" has been ongoing for the past six years, and has rolled over into Scepter Gabriel's second term.

Undoubtedly the world is waiting for Gabriel to deliver his remarks.

Foreign Executor Bruce Olivark Spoke to The Press This Afternoon

As the final preparations are being made for the Scepter’s speech tomorrow morning, Foreign Executor Bruce Olivark gave an overview of the international attention, and participation of the event. He listed numerous organizations that will be carrying the speech live, and dozens more online & print papers were flown in to cover the story. He also noted that he made it explicitly clear to neighboring nations in Northern Europe that if no dignitary was present during the speech it would, Be a harbinger of strained relations, and dramatic consequences for the ungrateful state in question.”

When pressed on what those consequences would be Executor Olivark demurred saying only that, “No intelligent battlefield commander would forgive me for revealing stratagems on live television.” As of this point it is unknown which nations may have decided to forgo a presence here in the impressive capital of our beloved land. The Executor pointedly refused to say which nations had representatives in the city already citing security concerns. Although one high level source later on noted it was to give time for ignorant nations to reconsider their decisions.

Scepter Gabriel Photographed Moments Before "Game Changing" Speech

To a capacity crowd numbering close to a hundred thousand Drakunian, Scepter Gabriel Abeloth delivered a rousing speech that outlined The Imperium's foreign policy goals and motives, while calling on every Drankunian to forge a destiny of their own choosing. Many are calling it a game changing event in European history, one that will forever alter both the near and long-term future. As one anonymous official put it, "No one is going to make a decision, without incorporating the Imperium in their calculus." Below is selected excerpts from the speech:


“Drakun! Our accession is at hand.”

“We are, united as one living nation, are on the precipice of grabbing the reigns of destiny and steering our own path; free of celestial meddling. The world beyond our seas knows this; it is a secret that they burden with tragic acknowledgment. There is nothing they can do except scheme, knives in hand, their way to a place besides our throne. For proof look only behind you!”

“They sit, representatives of Europe in absolute awe, in fear of what is before their very eyes. They do not sit at my feet, nor at yours. They are behind us, as they always will be so long as we seize this moment, hold it and forge the lines of our future today.”

“My words today serve not just as a call to arms in the name of national unity. They serve too, as the guiding principles that will be at the heart of every decision we make moving forward. As the preeminent cultural, military and economic force in Europe today our words carry tremendous weight. Yet, we also carry an enormous responsibility, which without your support I could not dare carry alone.”

“ Like the northern star above us, which for centuries has been the beacon of guidance to the human race we too, must be the beacon for the people of Europe. Throughout its entire history, Europe and its denizens have been unable, or perhaps unwilling to emulate our successes. Instead, they embrace the fires of war, anarchy and in the process breed constant inferiority.”

“ And as Europe rolled around in the sludge of its errors, Drakun has stayed above; preferring to seek enlightenment and the betterment of our nation. My brethren, to put it bluntly we have been selfish. It had not dawned on the previous leadership that the root cause of Europe’s stunning inability to do anything right or civilized is because they have no leader themselves. They have no father, and when there is no father the son becomes degenerate and incapable of success.”

“This is why, starting today we shall export our supremacy. We will foster the development of Europe into a proud child. This is not our destiny brother and sisters. Our destiny was to forever shine as an example of what Europe could be. Nevertheless, as I said we make our own destiny here in the Imperium. We bow to no God, no man and no state. Drakun is the king of all nations, and I am its Scepter. And no matter the cost we will succeed in this endeavor; we will forcefully construct a New World Order.”

“We will institute trade with other nations; teach them the ways of an economic juggernaut. We will form alliances, and relations. We will crush those who embrace ignorance. We will export our paradise to the world below. It is our solemn duty, it is our chosen destiny.”

Scepter Gabriel ripped the European Defense Force (EDF) and other supporters of Coronado today in an interview with the Daily. The EDF, among others has come to the defense, or have expressed support for the cesspit of anarchy that is Coronado. He called their interference in the conflict, “One of the most irresponsible things I’ve seen in my time” and warned their actions, along with others could instigate a global conflict that would make the great warlords of the past blush. “They have become the perpetrators of chaos and idiocy in all honesty, and such consistent brinkmanship cannot and will not be tolerated.”

Gabriel called on the many supporters of Belmont, among them Greater Samartia to stage a worldwide display of support for Belmont’s effort to purge Coronado of its potential to aid the EDF in the, “Exportation of mindless war and instigation.”

He intends to launch a multi-pronged campaign to drum up awareness and support for Belmont.The Imperium will stage a military parade in the capital, Hæstur, outside the Crystal Palace in an expression of solidarity with the Belmontian campaign. All television stations have agreed to cover the war nightly, and the Scepter’s office has set up a website for Drakunians to learn about the root causes of the conflict, and how they can help. Bumper stickers such as, “FED Up With EDF” and “Support Belmont” are expected to go quickly. Proceeds will be donated to a charity for Belmontian war orphans.

When pressed on the possibility that the Imperium might enter the conflict, the Scepter responded cryptically, “No player would reveal their cards before the round is over.” Noting a player has to be in the game, with the game being South Gallian war Gabriel shrugged, “Take it as you will. Belmont has my support, and those of many other powerful European leaders. The EDF and others should take note and act accordingly.”

The Scepter Spoke Out Against The Prince Regent's Words Today in a Press Conference


Once more a war of words has erupted between the Scepter and the country of Franken after the nation’s Prince Regent denied that national sovereignty was an important factor in international decision making. “I’m more horrified than anything else. We have the leading state of a multi-national alliance; pardon the language, shitting on national sovereignty. Such a view is the foundation of an imperialistic foreign policy, which lines up with what the EDF has been doing in the South Gallian war.”

The EDF has recently been ripped apart by the Imperium for its feeble moral outrage over Belmont’s easily justifiable assault on Coronado. Now, with the perhaps unintentional revelation of how Franken’s leaders view the concept of sovereignty, Gabriel warned that it might force his hand. “Knowing that international law would not prevent Franken from attacking Belmont… the Imperium may have to deploy its own soldiers and naval forces to contain the conflict.” Such a police action would be the first of its kind in generations. The possibility of cooperation with Breotonia and Frescenia were not ruled out in such a scenario by military commanders.

As for Caretania’s attempt to support Coronado, a fellow communist Gabriel chuckled, “They are a non-factor in the conflict. Belmont’s leadership is more than capable of holding their own against such military insects.”

The Scepter ended his press conference by calling on Franken and all members of the EDF to sign a pledge swearing that they would refrain from military involvement in the ongoing war, “Knowing that that they have wiped away all credibility on the issue. They must prove to Europe that the imperialistic musings of their Prince are limited to just musings.”
