NORDIC STATES MEET IN NYSTRÅ;
ÉIREANN LOOKS FURTHER AFIELD FOR TRADE

As the 1st Nordic Council convenes in Nystrå, Skånskige Statsunionen, in what is seen in government circles as an attempt to unify the Nordic states diplomatically and economically, it has become obvious that Éireann may have to look beyond Scandinanvia to the Frankish and Germanic nations, as well as those nations across the westen sea, for trading partners. It may as be that the Montelimarians have already seen this and have made a move by sending a new Trade Commissioner to Átha Cliath. Minister of Trade, Sean O'Halloran has indicated that he will schedule a meeting with the Commissioner at the earliest date. O'Halloran also intends to make contact with other Frankish governments as well as Franken, Wiese and others.

As Guiana is one of those nations "across the western sea", the ITC is very interested in meeting with the Eireann Trade Minister to discuss a partnership in trade.

Commissioner Bonet will meet with Minister O'Halloran at a time and place of the Minister's chosing. If it is permissable, this Ministry wishes the subject of the oil discovery in the Dhún na nGall Bay to be discused.

Blue Flag Union

Board Members of Central Europe's purest Free Market interest group, marked by the blue flag of Živ-Capitalism, invite Éireann businessmen and women to streamline trading between our two nations. There is no reason why our Union cannot begin importing goods from Éireann, or drawing up plans to put financial empowerment in to the hands of individuals in your great nation, the Free Market way.

TROUBLE BREWING OVER BATAVIË CRISIS

As the Security Council at the Council of Nations debate over the strategy to be used in the civil war ravaged Batavië, major Oikwan and Austurlander naval assets are steaming toward the region. Though both Oikawa and Austurland both have announced the deployment is purely humanitarian, their responses to each other indicate otherwise, as Austurland sent a carrier group in response to Oikawa's, then Oikawa announces a second carrier group being dispatch in response to Austurland's and neither has even been sanction by the Security Council. Such actions has made His Majesty concerned that the trouble in the former IRB nation will bring conflict between the leading nations of the LFS and AGE.

In response to the tension, His Majesty has forbidden Oikawan and Austurland naval units permission to operate in Éireann waters and has ordered naval and air units to maintain a heightened scense of vigilance especially in waters bordering those of Batavië.

INCREASED GOVERNMENT ACTIVITY IN SOUTH ÉIREANN

As the Batavië Crisis continues, activity military and other government agencies have been making themselves quite evident in Port Láirge, Vedrafjord. The harbour at Port Láirge, a major commercial port as well as the site of Southern Naval Command, has been a beehive of activity as docks have been cleared in the commercial sector with an increase of military personnel being seen. Though the government has made "no commit' statements, the increase of military presence at the port, with additional naval vessels at the naval base as well as aircraft, and reports coming in from Cé na Cille Móire on the island of Na Sailtí of activity at the air base there, has made it obvious that some sort of operation is underway and that is likely to do with the situation across the Straits of Owen in northern Batavië.

BATAVIË CRISIS TAKES UNFORSEEN PATH

While the Security Council delays implementing the provisions of the Batavia Resolution, and EDF troops sit idle at Éireann bases and ports waiting to deploy as peacekeepers, and ships and planes continue to arrives carrying relief supplies for those in need across the straits, the situation in the Batavië has taken an unexpected turn. Though it is not known whether it is for the better or worse, it would seem that the political leadership of the embattled country has, like rats, have abandoned the sinking ship of state, and have deserted and left people to their fate.

Now with the military in complete control, and though they have announced they will hold elections soon so that the people will decide their future, it is unclear what will happen in the meantime to those holding out in Spa with no civilian government holding the military's reins

It can hardly be said that Carentania is destabilizing the region, when it was Talemantros who tries to interfere in our internal and defense policies with the open threat of war, nevermind the continue occupation of Carentanian soil by Talemantine imperialists.

:arrow:Peacekeepers may soon deploy to Batavië
With war narrowly diverted between Batavië and Shcherbatskaya due to a missile attack on Spa from the later country, things seem to have gotten back on course as a resolution in the the Security Council to deploy peacekeepers from Montelimar has been introduced with a corresponding increase in activity at bases in Southern Éireann.

The Lorraine ambassador to the CoN called into question the honesty of the Oltrmare government's claim they were pardoning one thousand Catholic prisoners and deporting them when the Oltremarians refused to reveal the deportee's destination. :arrow:Mining Company Looks For Foreign Investments
Donegal Mining & Petroleum, Éireann's largest provider of oil, natural gas and coal, has made a corporate decission to bid for a share in the Imperial Coal Company, Talemantros' largest and only coal company. Due to the posting of record profits from increased domestic oil, gas and coal usage, DM&P will use the capital to expand beyond Éireann's to obtain, in this case, a foreign source of coal and to expand into a wider international market. Though it is unknown haow large a share of ICC Donegal is looking to purchase, President and CEO, James Murphy looks to make DM&P a major share holder in the company.

POLLS OPEN FOR NORTHERN COUNCIL ELECTION

Átha Cliath - Here in the capital as well as from all over Éireann, Celts began casting their votes this morning for who will represent them in the Northern Council. Celts from all parts of society did their civic duty to cast their vote, even His Majesty, was seen exiting his district polling place flashing the "I Voted" as he left. Though there was a short time, due to a disagreement between Foreign Minister Angus Ó Donell and an uncompromising head of one of the other delegations, that it was in doubt that there would even be a Northern Council, the treaty was signed and the people of Éireann, reflected in the turn out so far, seem to be determined to see it succeed.

  • Windhoek Center Of Controversy In CoN
~ Warre makes claim that communist Batavië illegally occupied the island once known as Cluainiolair and that the island be returned to the Cluainiolairaigh, the former inhabitants of the island. Though there is sympathy for the Cluainiolairaigh amoung the Na hÉireann, the Ard Ríocht has recognized the Windhoek as a province of Republic of Batavië.
  • Comments By Batavië PM Causes Uproar In Oireachtas*
~ "Perhaps these people should close their bibles and go back to school where they can learn about their country instead of fairy tales of wizards who created cults of personality and claimed to walk on water."
When these word spoken by Batavië's Prime Minister Alfons Diepenbrock were made known during todays meeting of the Dáil†, it received nearly universal condemnation by the those present. "Such a statement made by a national leader, especially one that is the head of government of a ally of Éireann, needs to be addressed and policies reguarding Batavië reaccessed." said TD‡ Einrí Ó Rourke of An Clár.

The High Kingdom of Warre finds itself deeply troubled by Eireann's response to the current situation with Batavie, and asks Eireann (& Seán Pádraig Ó Néill, Ard Ri na Éireann) to remember for a moment the torment it suffered at the Batavo-Engellexic Union in the time of the Hyborean War; and then consider if it believes that the People of the Eagle's Plains were almost genocided by the Da Graff Regime, or that Batavie would claim that the territory was terra nullus and thus theirs. My Liege has expressed a sizable amount of disbelief at the fact that our right and god-fearing cousins the H'Éireannaigh would simply shrug away such a sin as that of Batavie's former regime in favor of a strengthened peace and prosperity amongst the Northern Council states, and more so with the current repression of free will and freeman's rights which the so called 'Republic' of Batavie commits in it's atheistic fundamentalism.
