Bomb Rocks New Cidia
AP New Cidia

A bomb blew up this morning outside of the citadel of New Cidia, injuring 2 Cidonian soldiers and killing 12 civilians, injuring 20 more, some heavily injured.

The capital of New Cidia permits only the most loyal citizens and high profile politicians and military men entrance, was rocked by a bomb earlier this morning. At one of the security outposts controlling entry to the capital a Vehicle Born Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED) exploded in front of the checkpoint.

The driver of the vehicle failed to comply slowing down his vehicle before approaching the checkpoint was shot at but was able to blow up the car before dying. The nearby, more peaceful tribes of the south, denied any participation in the terrorist attack. On the other hand, various northern tribes have declared that they executed the attack.

AP has no confirmation as various tribes in the north such as the Abrafo, Lema, Iskinder, Adom, Mensah and many others want to claim this attack as their own. In a response nearby tribes were pillaged by Cidonian civilians and civilian military eventually let the Cidonians attack the nearby tribe of the Badu, a normally peaceful tribe.

One of the tribesmen of the Badu called the "actions of the northern tribes irresponsible" and "hurtful" for the entire tribal ethnicity within Cidonia, already a minority.

Mormon churches closing across Vangala
AP International

Churches associated with the Oceanic Saints Movement, a controversial Christian sect based in Cantigny, are closing across the People's Republic of Vangala after facing increasing harassment from the authorities, which some allege is due to Vangala's worsening relationship with the Cantignian government. Reports gathered from across Vangala claim several churches have been raided during religious ceremonies by police officers, with some of the attending allegedly beaten and arrested. Church leaders also say requests to renew their license have been either rejected or deliberately ignored.

The Oceanic Saints Movement was previously banned by the Cults and Superstitious Beliefs Commission, a body set up in the early days of the People's Republic to combat religious thought. However, following the economic and political liberalisation of the 1990's, the Oceanic Saints Movement was recognised as a legitimate religion, although not as a branch of Christianity, and allowed to operate in Vangala. However, religious buildings are required to register with the local authorities and need a license renewal annually and the People's Republic of Vangala also imposes limitations on missionary activity.

The Vangalan Communist Party maintains freedom of religion is guaranteed by Vangala and enshrined in the constitution, and a spokesperson for the Party section in Chingrikhali, an important port city, with a notable Mormon community, blamed the dwindling Cannie population, with recent economic sanctions imposed by the People's Republic forcing many Cannie businessmen to return home. The majority of Cantignians in Vangala are either tourists and businessmen, and focused mostly in the coastal cities.

Mormon leaders fear their cause will be ignored by the international community. Mormons are based almost entirely in Cantignia and surrounding islands in Oceania. Many mainstream Christian denominations do not recognise the Oceanic Saints Movement as Christian. Most Mormons complain other Vangalan Christians, who are predominantly Lutheran as a result of Franconian rule, are unsympathetic, even though both communities face persecution from the authorities.

The Church of Oceanic Saints
South Touyou Mission
Vangala Stake

Around all of Europe the debate on unconventional and other-than-old-world based religions has become intense. That is especially so in Communist Vangala. Most Vangalans have interacted on some level with the various organized interpretations of The Lord Jesus Christ, and His sacrifice to humanity; given the racial and religious climate in Vangala however, the exposure of Mormon Beliefs (Peace, Community Service, and Brotherhood) have gone largely shrouded by the violent Solaris-Sect, and the increasingly irrelevant Catholic and Protestant Movements.

The issue for The Church of Oceanic Saints in responding to this case of racial and religious persecution, is of course, the obligation to speak to our Vangalan equals as children of God, worthy of our kindness and forgiveness. The mistreatment of our missionaries is cause for concern especially where race, culture, or religion are involved, though the phenomenon is not exclusive to Mormons, or a first for this Church. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the missionaries involved with the South Touyou Mission and Vangalan Stake. We pray that they will be comforted as they face adversity and loss due solely to their race and religion, and pray especially for all those who would seek to make us suffer.

Bomb plot foiled in New Cidia
AP New Cidia

It was quickly planned and as such easily discovered: the plan of 4 members of the Lema tribe was to increase public awareness to the genocide being committed in the north of Cidonia was disorganised, ill-planned and a total disaster.

The 4 men escaped through the front lines of Operation Tense Sunrise by pretending to be dead in a village raid two days ago and snuck farther south disguised as farmers. On their way they met up with other members of the Lema tribe who gave them materials to build a bomb and small firearms. The idea was to kill General Bonifaas Zvonimir, leading head of Operation Tense Sunrise at the greeting ceremony for the observers from Kyiv, Zoomany and Talemantros.

Once they were at the New Cidian entrance controls their fake identities were quickly noticed. Once the 4 men noticed that things were not going as planned they tried to escape and shot at the entrance guards. The guards shot back and killed the driver immediately and the car backed into a wall. The second Leman shot himself and the other two surrendered.

As a police comissar came up with further military personell and the third Leman was shot on the spot as he begged for his life whilst the other was taken away for interrogation.

Almost half a million refugees -- 826 killed, 1807 captured

Meanwhile the borders to the north to Matanza and Hajr swell ever larger to a total of estimated 450,000 people in refugee camps at the borders. "Fevers are rampant, people are hungering and thirsty. The first people are already dying" complains a tribal woman of a tribe she wishes not to mention. Hajr and Matanza have denied entry to their countries and attempts of people to escape lead to a quick death by the hands of Hajr or Matanza border patrols.

Officially only 3 Cidonian soldiers have given their lives in this "operation" according to rumours a helicopter in the north had been shot down by tribesmen killling both the pilot and co-pilot. No information has been released from the military information service. So far 25 Cidonian soldiers have been injured, unofficially these numbers are at about 230.

Official numbers of the dead in Operation Tense Sunrise has meanwhile risen to 826 and 1807 captured. Survivors that have managed to escape by faking death have informed AP that the amount is at least 5 times as high concerning the dead, because no tribesmen or women are captured. Not even the children.

Concerns raised over Jurzani-Vangalan deal
AP International

Human rights, arms control and civil liberties advocacy groups have raised concern over the planned 'Oil for Guns' deal between the Second Jurzani Republic and the People's Republic of Vangala, announced after Vangalan External Affairs Minister Ajoy Qamaruzzaman and National Defence Minister Nurul Banerjee visited the Jurzan as part of a tour of RDTO member-states. The planned agreement involves the Jurzan providing cheap oil to Vangala in return for military equipment and support. Vangalan state-owned companies will also increase investment in the Jurzani economy. The full details of the deal have not been disclosed, and the Vangalan Ministry of External Affairs maintains it is an alliance security issue and refuses to release further information.

The new agreement builds on earlier negotiations between the Jurzan and Vangala after the end of Georgian minority rule, when the People's Republic offered humanitarian supplies for internal refugees and to train the new security forces for subsidised oil. Currently, hundreds of advisers from the Vangalan People's Armed Forces and People's Reserve Police are stationed in the Jurzan, with the number expected to increase as part of the deal. Officers from People's Military Intelligence are also rumoured to be supporting Jurzani intelligence services.

Many fear the arms sales will also start an arms race in Himyar, with tensions still running high in region after the Talemantine invasion of Altai and the controversial secession of Zamosk. Talks between Carentania and Vangala to remove restrictions on high-tech military exports have already caused a storm in Toyou, with Yujin condemning the decision and describing its timing as culturally insensitive. The Jurzan has a history of conflict with Talemantros, as does its key ally Carentania, and security analysts believe the recent arms purchases are to deter a potential Talemantine invasion.

The deal and visit also coincided with a major shift in Jurzani politics, with the Adrari Socialist Party assuming more powers and responsibilities. Critics have noticed the similarities with the single-party system in Vangala, where the Vangalan Communist Party is the supreme political force. Historically the Jurzan has been closer to Carentania than Vangala, although the recent changes may suggest a move towards Kilkila.

Danes let it all hang out as 'nudist resorts' launched
AP Danmark

Renowned for their love of freedom and self-expression, a private consortium has allowed Danes to live their dreams in ways previously unimaginable as they launched the first of six planned 'nudist resorts' in the Danish kingdom.

The weather, usually cold and temperate, had tended to put a distinct dampener on those who have wished to express their love of nudity a la plein air though now their desires seem to have been fulfilled as Gromskab ApS opened their flagship nudist resort near Frederikshavn in a bizarre marriage of personal liberty and capitalism.

The resort is a huge 80,000 m² pleasure dome of the flesh complete with all the modern conveniences you would expect, from an artificial beach, shopping centre, restaurants, beaches and tidal sea, all under a beautifully temperature-controlled dome, allowing people of all shapes and sizes, physiques and appendages, and all ages to stroll around cloth-less in an air of extreme liberty.

For many Danes, who have tended to express their exhibitionist tendencies by flocking to warmer climates, the new venture is right up their street. In the resorts, people of all ages strut their stuff from young and old to thin and fat - all of whom can walk about and experience 'nude life', either as day trippers or as long-term stayers, all for a suitable fee.

Helena Grakskob, a 49 year old divorcee from Yngby exclaimed her enthusiasm: "I'm middle aged, overweight and divorced. I had been married for 25 years until my husband cheated on me and ran away with a 22 year old blonde - and then my whole world fell apart. I felt directionless and ugly. I hid myself away and ate potato chips all day and watched daytime chat shows. Then I suddenly thought to myself "You can't go on like this, Margaret, you need to get yourself a man" - so I came here. I feel really free as I walk along the warm beach in the camp flaunting my stuff and I feel great as all the men look at me in the flesh and see me for what I really am. I get some looks, I can tell you!"

Whilst many have applauded this new development in 'nudo-recreation', some have had their concerns. Religious groups have complained that young people may be preyed on by those with paedophilic tendencies and that young people may not be able to control themselves when they see and meet people they experience carnal attraction to.

Bishop Likkelstad of the Bishopric of Yngby said : "I have to condemn this sinful venture. It really is capitalism of the worst and corruptible kind. I have visited the camp and I am appalled at the displays of immodesty as people walk about without a care in the world. I mean, I have even seen young men and women, and even young men and other young men, engaging in sexual activity or even self-pleasure in front of other people whilst everyone else looked on or didn't care. This resort corrupts everyone and drags our morals down to the lowest common denominator. These people have lost the message communicated to us in Holy Scripture".

However, many have applauded the new developments citing them as providing an ideal atmosphere to break down barriers and teach people the reality of life. Only time will tell if the venture proves successful.

Vangalan Ministers meet police trainers in Capraria
AP International

Vangalan External Affairs Minister Ajoy Qamaruzzaman and National Defence Minister Nurul Banerjee have arrived Capraria to visit Vangalan police advisers currently training the new Solaren police force. Touching down in a Carentanian air base, security was tight with fears Solaris insurgents may target the ministerial delegation and the media was not informed of their arrival until their successful landing. The visit is part of a wider tour of Revolutionary Defence Treaty Organisation member-states, with the ministers having already passed through Carentania and the Jurzan.

Vangalan police trainers were invited by the Solaren National Congress to aid in the formation of a new police force for post-war Solaren, despite the opposition of Carentania, the SNC's main backer, who use an alternative policing system domestically. Vangalan police officers are involved in the selection of recruits and tasked with leading the training programme as well as accompanying Solaren trainees on patrol. Vangalan peacekeepers are to soon be deployed to mainland Solaren to assist Carentanian pacification efforts, and potentially support offensive operations against Pope Urban's remaining forces.

The Ministers spoke to the head of the training mission, an officer from the People's Reserve Police, a paramilitary force that has been accused of committing human rights abuses in Vangala. The officer's name and rank were not disclosed for security reasons. They also observed training exercises and attended a parade by the new recruits. The achievements of Vangalan aid workers and volunteers were also praised in a press conference, where journalists also questioned the status of bilateral relations between Carentania and Vangala, after a heated debate over Jurzani political changes. Both Ministers stressed Vangala's committment to the Revolutionary Defence Treaty Organisation and friendship with Carentania, and insisted Vangala will contribute to military operations in Solaren. However, they criticised Carentania's rhetoric and warned against reviving old ideological conflicts.

External Affairs Minister Ajoy Qamaruzzaman and National Defence Minister Nurul Banerjee are to continue their tour by visiting Havenshire next, followed by Coronado, Kryobaijan and Denisova. Minister Qamaruzzaman is to also fly to Karakhstan before returning to Vangala to discuss regional security and improved trade relations.

Famine and Instability in Solaren
AP International

The conflict in Solaren is exacting a heavy toll not only on the Solaren military, which has yet to see a major victory, but perhaps moreso upon the people of Solaren themselves. With every site of even moderate to minimal strategic value having been destroyed by the Carentania-EDF forces, including every major port, Solaren has become a land of struggles where everyday needs are met through murder, theft, and looting. The war, which began in August and escalated through the harvest season, has destroyed Solaren's stockpiles of food and shattered the ability of farmers to distribute what goods they did make to factories and distribution centers, leaving many major city centers in a humanitarian crisis. Combine this with the fact that the destruction of every major Solaren port has eliminated Solaren's ability to offset these losses through imports, and the utter collapse of the currency has broken even the black market, and you have the recipe for disaster.

This disaster has cropped up presently in the form of a famine which is ravaging the North and the East, with estimates suggesting that more than a hundred thousand civilians are malnourished and starving, and some experts providing figures that estimate as many as twenty thousand civilians have already died to this food crisis. Other figures suggest that as many as five million citizens have been internally displaced due to conflict and food, water, and power shortages. In many regions local security forces have entirely disbanded, and looting and brigandry is common. Reports from Carentanian-occupied regions suggest that as many as 20% of internally displaced migrants and refugees have been robbed during their exodus, and Eiffellandian-occupied regions are believed to be as high as 40%. Murder and rape rates have also risen astronomically, though accurate figures themselves can not be gathered due to a lack of official sources.

In many parts of the country there is a complete lack of basic humanitarian services, such as access to clinics and medicines, which has already negatively impacted the birth rate and tripled the nations infant mortality rate, according to local physicians who have contacted Blue Cross for aid, though it is unlikely that the military forces of Eiffelland and Carentania will permit civilian access to conflict areas during wartime. Blue Cross officials further estimate that as many as 38% of the countries best educated and most valuable teachers and doctors have fled the country for Eiffelland, Wiese, and Franken; leaving the nations still-functioning hospitals and schools understaffed and operating at low capacity. The Blue Cross believes that immediate steps need to be taken towards improving the nations access to international markets through the reconstruction of major ports and re-opening of trade, as well as stating that disaster prevention and humanitarian aid funding is required to support the Solaren National Council in acquiring the appropriate goods and establishing itself with some sense of credibility in occupied zones.

The Grand Duchy is growing concerned regarding the declining conditions with neighboring Solaren. After discussions with the prime minister, we are willing to attempt to work with Carentanian-EDF forces in a strictly humanitarian effort through the Ministries of Law Enforcement, Health, and Agriculture to give relief and assistance for the Solaris population. We recognize the error of previous governments to completely avoid any responsibility with the Solaris conflict, and now feel compelled to reverse this tragic mistake.

CHILDREN IN THE WATUSTAN MILITARY
AP INTERNATIONAL

Since the 80's, military service has been mandatory for all males for at least two years. For most, this is the only way to get by without labor in the mines. The age of conscription is only fifteen, though there are no regulations whatsoever on checking an individual's age. The Watu, of course, seem to be exempt whereas the Mbele are used for both the public military and the private one - the militia, one which the president and officials deny. The conditions for soldiers, no matter what age, are poor. There are rumors that the generals condone, encourage and force the use of illegal narcotics such as cocaine to stimulate ferocity in their soldiers. The only people that can make a difference are the Watu, and they turn a blind eye to the actions. In addition to forced conscription, forced labor is also enforced on young Mbele children. Again, officials of Watustan deny such allegations as propaganda from lone Mbele extremists.

Growing Resistance to Reinstatement of Duchies
AP San Salvo

Following the decision by the Potenzan Chamber of Nobles to reinstate the historical duchies of the nation, there has been a growing resistance in various parts of the country. The source of resistance is especially strong around the cities of Turin and Cremona, which has traditionally held a more liberal viewpoint in regards to government. Many parliamentary ministers who belong to left-leaning or liberal political parties come from these regions, and many have lodged complaints against this move by the Grand Duke. Students within the University of Turin and the University of Cremona have stated they will organize protests in the hopes of turning over the Chamber's decision. Many more are asking their representatives to object and oppose this in all facets of government decision-making. Many are worried that this will bring Potenza back to the Middle Ages, where it was divided among the various duchies who fought against one another and vied for power, while many more are worried this will counteract the democratic reform Potenza has enjoyed for the past 200 years.

The negative opinion is not universal, but in some areas of the country it is definitely stronger than others. An independent study by the University of Turin's Political Science branch showed the near polar opinions within the Grand Duchy regarding the movie: within the Duchy of Treviso, a substantial 80% of respondents said they supported the movie; within the Duchy of Cremona, 52% said they supported the movie; within the Duchy of Turin, barely 45% answered in support; 78% of those within the Duchy of Venosa answered in support; and 67% in the Duchy of San Salvo answered in support.

Potenza's Prime Minister Gaetano Merlino, who leads the Chamber of Ministers, Potenza's elected body representing the people, has continued to give his support for the move. He has offered the formation of a Ministry of Royal Affairs in order to appease any apprehensions some may have. This gesture was initially said as a joke, but now Merlino seems to be seriously considering it. This ministry would keep a close tie to the Potenzan nobility and ensure the people have a voice in the affairs of the Chamber of Nobles as well as the Chamber of Ministers. Bother Merlino and Grand Duke Eldizio I have repeatedly said that the reinstatement of the duchies will not harm the voice the people have, nor will it take away any power that the Chamber of Ministers possess. Supporters of the reinstatement have compared it to the formation of an "upper house," like those seen in other parliamentary governments.

Spam Reaches All Time High
AP Port Watu

The growing industry of spam in Watustan is a growing business. An office in downtown Port Watu, outfitted with many Door 97 computers, are used to both email and solicit individuals overseas for multiple products. We sat down with the owner of the company, Geysdrop Polokwane. "Companies hire us to spread the message of their product to anyone we can," he explained, "We buy emails from various sites. If the person doesn't like it, they can unsubscribe." However, there are many blogs against these practices. A post by an anonymous source said, "These guys are idiots. Half of the words aren't even spelled right." Regarldess, there seems to be no sign of stopping.

Yujin, Sky Lantern Festival Sends Wishes for New Year
AP International

Hundreds of thousands of fire lanterns were sent into the skies over Yujin last night with wishes for fortune, luck, among other more curious wishes. Fireworks erupted around the country, sparkling over rooftops in a celebration heralding the end of the Yujin Spring Festival celebration in a dazzling display which is observed by over one billion people around the world. From Cantignia to Engellex and Eiffelland to Suionia, soft white lanterns were sent aloft by an oil-fueled candle bearing red characters that are seen as a sign of good luck by participants, both Yujiner and foreigner who are fascinated by the spectacle of thousands of white lights floating through the sky.

More amusingly, the number of UFO sightings reported in countries which are not accustomed to the sight of strange, floating and glowing objects in the sky increased dramatically, in such nations such as Zarmaj and Kyiv. The Yujin national government also participated in the festivities, with members of the Republican Congress and the President of the Republic sending aloft their own lanterns. Photographs of the President's own lantern showed that he had wished for 'victory for the nation', while sightings of other Congressional lanterns bore nationalistic slogans or national luck. Outside the Presidential Palace, parade units marched underneath a sky full of sparklers and fireworks.

The Spring Festival is the traditional beginning of the Yujin New Year, and the Lantern Festival marks the end of the celebration. Fire lanterns, essentially large paper bags carried like hot air balloon into the sky, are traditionally written on with calligraphy and sent skywards so that 'Heaven may receive the wishes'. This year, however, has shown an increase in the number of nationalistic slogans and wishes; more than likely coinciding with the recent spat between the Republic of Yujin and the RDTO, which has caused as escalation in tensions along the disputed Meghalayan border zone.

Resources within Boliatur have said that the Boliaturian nation has erupted into a violent civil war. First, clashes with protesters began, and then rural steppe villages began rebellion. Boliatur has denied these claims of rebellion.

Vangala suspends troop deployments to Solaren
AP International

The People's Republic of Vangala has suspended the deployment of peackeepers to Solaren indefinitely, with a spokesperson from the Ministry of National Defence citing national security concerns as the reason, following Yujiner military exercises in the Meghalayan Mountains, which have been condemned by Vangala. Sources within the People's Republic suggest the Vangalan People's Armed Forces were prepared to provide a several thousand strong taskforce, including units from the elite People's Naval Infantry, to support Carentanian pacification efforts. The Ministry of National Defence also denied any increase in troop levels along the border with Yujin, and maintained Vangala remains committed to peace in the region.

Officials from the Ministry of External Affairs have been keen to stress the announcement is unrelated to an ongoing dispute between Carentania and the Jurzan and Vangala over proposed amendments to the Jurzani constitution. In a later press statement, a spokesperson claimed Vangala was considering the possibility of deploying members of the People's Reserve Police, a paramilitary internal security force, to Solaren, a shift from their current role of training the new Solaren police service. However, many analysts remain sceptical, and say the decision was motivated by continued Carentanian objections to the Jurzani constitutional changes and open ideological attacks on Vanguardism, not Yujiner threats.

Carentania may now have to seek new partners in the Revolutionary Defence Treaty Organisation for peackeeping operations. Reports from inside Solaren suggest most of the conventional warfare is over, with remaining Solaren military forces focusing around the capital Torrence. Insurgent groups, formed from broken military units and supporters in the civilian population, have emerged, targeting supply lines and increasingly, bases and patrols, requiring manpower needed for offensive operations. The only other RDTO member-state likely to contribute is Havenshire, although no agreement has been announced yet.

'Prince Charming' awaits accession to throne
AP Danmark

Crown Prince Sweyn, the Danes' next king

Danmark is buzzing with excitement and anticipation as it busily makes preparations for the impending coronation of its next monarch, the 28 year old Crown Prince Sweyn, following the announcement that his father, King Hans Gustav III, is due to step aside in favour of his son due to ill health.

It's not the first time a Danish king has abdicated - it's been done twice before when King Jorgen IV abdicated in 1771 due to a parliamentary conflict with the autocratic monarch, and Queen Dagmar did similar in 1845 again due to ill health (she suffered from Parkinson's Disease) - but it is still a rarity in Danish monarchical history. The current king, a doyen of traditional monarchy, is highly regarded in many quarters, but has suffered progressively worsening health and has been visibly drained in recent years. Reactions to the king's decision to abdicate were mixed - many have expressed sadness at the decision, some have been less concerned -especially some ethnic Germans who resented the king's refusal to speak German which he only belatedly reversed. However most see the succession of the Crown Prince as the beginning of a new era in the relationship between the Danes and their monarchy and are thoroughly anticipating his coronation.

Crown Prince Sweyn, as close to a genuine 'Prince Charming' as there could be and an eligible batchelor, is widely seen as a sauve, debonair and highly intelligent figure and is widely popular, especially amongst the young in society, being more approachable and with less of the reserve of his father. To many, his accession will herald a new era in the monarchy as the relationship between people and crown has shifted in recent times with the new king seen as a torch-bearer. He is already popular among ethnic minority Germans - he speaks German fluently - and has gone down a treat. "He is the first king that we can say that we genuinely respect", so said the leader of the Sachsen Partei, Henrik von Seyderich "his willingness to speak our mother tongue has endeared him to us and he is a true national symbol".

Even so, given the modern era's interest in all things personal, the Crown Prince's private life has come under a degree of scrutiny despite the best efforts of the royal palace to protect his privacy. The Danish popular press has carried several articles suggesting it's heir to the throne is gay, though there has been no confirmation of this, and despite efforts to link him to notable females by the palace. Margaritte Kammersen, a prominent social commentator, says she believes the stories about the Crown Prince: "To me it's obvious he is gay. I feel sorry for him as he is under pressure to conform to regal standards and there is an old guard at the Court that is desperate to quash any hint of the Crown Prince's sexuality, but I feel it will all end in tears for them. I sincerely feel the prince has the guts to make his own way in the world regardless of crusty old farts at the palace. He's a genuinely nice man and it's his private life. We all wish him to be happy whether he finds love with another man or not".

Coronations are usually august state affairs full of Danish state pomp and colourful grandeur from the spectacular and glittering Danish state crown (estimated to be worth in the region of $500 million), grandiose horse-drawn golden carriages, resplendent uniforms and suitably majestic state trumpet fanfares. Air-wave and media coverage is already mounting with thousands of column inches and minutes spent dissecting the minutiae of the life of the Crown Prince and the Danish royals, with even a pop song having been written about him. The coronation is expected to be attended by the departing monarch and Queen Birgitte as well as most of the crowned heads of Europe and other heads of state who will no doubt seek to reaffirm old links between each other as well as to the Danish royal family. Not much is known about what the prospective king will do once he accedes to the throne, but hints are that he will likely want to visit different parts of his Danish realm and conduct numerous state visits to other countries as a good-will gesture.

Justicialist Youth efforts to define 'Interior Colonialist Imperialist Roader - enemies of the people', undermines democratization says Dissident Expert in voice of protest for Liberal party
AP, Mayapan

Cakchiquelians of European descent have been urged by the Justicialist Provisional Military Government of the Imperium that "expatriation is suggested and will continue to be non-compensated" in response to outcry by the largely former Christian rebel provinces of what in the latter half of the twentieth century was functionally known to outside observers as the "Free Democratic Mayan Liberal Republic" whose descendants immigrant planters decry systemic expropriation this comment by the Consulate of Communications was in response to continued Christian protest against the expropriated formerly Protestant owned Pizza Ranch chain. Land redistribution of "macro-culture" holdings seek to develop. The largely Chimu and European Liberal Christian Social Party has become the fifteenth party to qualify in time for elections under the current Justicialist constitution for next year.

The two major insurgencies continued to abide by a chill truce with the Imperial regime as of the month only according to dissident Niels Gundmann "the fiat accompli of democratization outside military control". Regardless of the truce, both military resistance groups maintain pocketed positions within Cakchiquelian society due to "the authority of new democratically minded civic servants providing social recourse and instruements of re-enter into the Cakchiquelian political-economy". To make matters of Justicialist acceptance of democracy more liberal than social correlates with the positioning of these two sources of historic twentieth century dissent to the Monarchy, Liberalism and Marxism. The two systems have become absorbed in the rhetorical consciousness of systems of power, but dissidents are loth to admit they are functioning in "human ways". The influence of capital in politics Touzen based academics have shown their worry in lectures given at Mayapan Imperial University "have not been given their proper liberal freedom". Oddly enough, both the banned Communist Party of Cakchiquel and the Justicialist Mayan National Congress continue to view Liberal Capitalism with a sense of skepticism, preferring a moderated protected market of continued Mayan technological industrial extensive growth at all costs against international Liberal free trade.

Eli Racehintohardt the spokesman for the Green Party of Cakchiquel seeks a new definition of "free trade" outside of the Danziger/Nokanawan consensus
"Free trade is inherently fair trade. We have no warrant to increase haphazard economic exploitation abroad at home. The Green Party and the Mayan people in general are committed to ecological sustainability along with the entire European planet. We hope to perpetuate a non-GMO world in Cakchiquel and in Europe in general"

Today the people of the territory of Zamosca went to the polls to decide the faith of their region. The referendum was promised by the self-declared independent state after a number of nations throughout the world criticized the way the region got its independence.

The government of Zamosca released the results hours ago, in which the voter went 56% for independence, 41% for autonomy, and 3% for reincorporation with Altai. The government also claims that the disenfranchisement of voters was minimal.

However, the Organization for Security and Democratic Cooperation (OSDC), a Suionian non-profit organization, has released a report in which it calls into doubt the Zamoscan statement. In its report, it states that some of their observers were not allowed to do their job, ballots were stuffed, and other violations were observed. Lastly, it also states that violence was used to restrict the people's right to choose.

Alvaro Marquez, a Frescanian staff from the OSDC, told AP that while on the ground:

“I was harassed at all the polls I went to. The first one told me that I did not have the right credentials, in the second poll the guards asked me for a bribe, and in the third, the pro-independent individuals waiting in line threatened me if I even try entering the poll center. I am glad that I'm out and back in Suionia.

I believed that Zamosca was ready, but after this experience and those of my co-workers, I personally fear that the region is not ready to govern itself if the tools that will govern Zamosca will be fear and lies”.

Mr. Marquez is not the first observer to discussed their experience after the OSDC report went public. AP tried contacting members of the Zamosca government, but they were unable or declined our calls.

It is unknown how the referendum results will play out in the international stage. So far, only Potenza and Danmark have recognized the independence of Zamosca after the referendum. Other nations, such as Carentania, Frescania, and Suionia, have yet to make any remarks.

Rights Group Protests Detention of Yujiner in Karakhstan
AP, Almatii

A civil rights group in Karakhstan has lodged formal complaints against the government for the detainment of a Yujiner man last week. The man was attempting to cross the border from Yujin at the Jurong-Korday Checkpoint when his lorry was flagged down for a random inspection. Immigration and Checkpoints Authority officers used sniffer dogs which led to the discovery of cannabis hidden within a shipment of grocery store items. The driver, Wen Yew, was detained and his vehicle taken for further examination as well. Since the event last week Mr Wen has been held in an Immigration and Checkpoints Authority compound in the outskirts of Almatii. Rights groups claim that Wen has not yet been granted a visit with Yujiner consular officials and has not yet met with a barrister.

Wen Yew did appear in public briefly yesterday for an appearance before a Cantonal Court in Almatii. The prosecutor's barrister said that the government would be seeking harsh terms for his offence. Historically drug smugglers caught in Karakhstan have been sentenced to corporal punishment. The last such sentencing occurred two years ago with a similar situation in which a Karakhstani citizen was caught attempting to smuggle cannabis and opium into Yujin. Rights groups, fearing a repeat trial, fear that Wen Yew will face a similar fate. They have asked the government to grant him immediate access to legal counsel and his consulate's personnel. The main opposition party in parliament, For a Just Karakhstan, brought up the issue in Question Period today in parliament asking Senior Minister Miirko Natanbayev to step in. SM Natanbayev said that this was a matter for the Canton of Almatii and Immigration and Checkpoints Authority. Other MPs within the SM's People's Action Party could be heard jeering at the opposition for defending a smuggler of 'mind-warping' drugs.

The Government of Yujin has so far remained outside of the issue and their embassy in Almatii did not return telephone calls.

State of Turin Post-Protest Crisis
AP San Salvo

Following the dispersion of protests a few days ago, the major Potenzan city of Turin has become eerily calm. Carabinieri, many of them armed with submachine guns, patrol the streets, especially around the city square and around major governmental buildings. City leaders have been given personal guards, and special police vehicles have been made ready to go at a moment's notice. Prime Minister Gaetano Merlino said that much of this is because the nation is still in the midst of Operation Reconquista - the prime minister's push to reduce crime in the Grand Duchy - but many Turinese say that they had never seen the police situation step up so drastically. Older Potenzans who survived the Turin Insurrection say that even after that crisis, the city didn't see such a heavy, military-like presence. Although protests are not banned throughout the nation, and protests against the reinstatement of the duchies are still continuing in Cremona and San Salvo, in the area of Turin they have ceased altogether. Those who say they would like to protest say they are also afraid that the Carabinieri will mistake it for further violent dissent.

Mayor Piero Fassino asked that the people remain calm, and promised recompense for damaged businesses. This leads into the next major aspect of the post-crisis state of the city: the place of the Grimaldi royal house. Duke Silvestro has donated generously to the business owners who suffered damage when the protests turned ugly, giving his funds to his brother Niccolo, the newly appointed Count of Turin. Niccolo has been seen talking with Mayor Fassino and other city leaders, coordinating efforts to keep the city at peace. Critics of Fassino say that Niccolo has him in his pocket, and the Grimaldi count is the new leader of Turin.
