Increased Naval Presence And Air Force Fly-overs As Carentania Enforces Blockade

When Carentania announced it would prevent arms shipments from reaching the Jurzan for the duration of its own investigations, it was not speaking idle words it seems. Several units of the Carentanian Revolutionary Navy have been reported operating within the Eastern Bay, the only naval approach to the Jurzan, and they are supported by several aerial units stationed in the region. Overall, reports from southern Carentania state increased combat readiness of the Carentanian military and the drafting of reservists serving in units close to the border.

What exactly Carentania is set to achieve remains unclear, aside from a continued display of power towards its southern neighbour, who abandoned the socialist bloc after its own socialist government tripped over a failed attempt to outlaw opposition - a coup d'etat which Carentania ironically helped wrestling down. Repeated diplomatic spats and a strongly anti-communist and anti-Carentanian government policy have turned relations sour ever since and speculations are plenty, that the Workers' Republic is considering the option of forceful regime change. Insiders within the Carentanian Commissariate for Defence state that the military feels encouraged by Europe's inaction towards the situation in Raigestan and the fact, that Danmark and the Mezhist Union are tied down in warfare against Miroslavl. However, it seems that Commissar Sitar, who was elected on a promise of cooperative relations on eye-level with the Jurzan, is blocking any clear move towards warfare at this point.

The Jurzani government meanwhile is likely to profit from the crisis, as it turns up the rhetorics of independence and sovereignity - specifically directed against its northern neighbour - which swept it to power in the first place. However, even if Europe's Great Powers should come to the Jurzans aid, analysts expect that its own strategic outlook is dire, should war with Carentania beco

Carentanian War-Plans Leaked

The government of Carentania had to deal with the consequences of a major leak today, as secret operational plans from the highest ranks of the Commissariate for Defense were released to the public by an unknown insider. The twelve pages of machine-written text goes into great detail to outline the battleplans of the communists, their assesment of foreign strength and what threats they feel their country faces. A very frightening detail: Carentania considers the possibility of a global war to be possible within the course of the next weeks.

According to the paper, however, Carentania does not seek to initiate such warfare. It rather expects the Jurzan to become staging ground for a ground attack by a coalition of powers led primarily by "Danmark, Engellex and Potenza" in close cooperation with a naval campaign against assets of the Revolutionary Armed Forces in the Long Sea. More curiously, the Workers' Republic openly admits within the secret strategy documents that the recent arms-blockade on the Jurzan is not tied directly to the public reasoning that these weapons may have been intended for Mezhist terrorists. While the Commissariate for Defense deems it "possible" that this may very well be the fact, the recent measure is mostly a way to keep a close eye on the exact scope and nature of shipments to its southern neighbour and to reasurre the domestic public. Mezhist terrorism is deemed a "minor military threat" at the current point.

In case of war, Carentanian expectations for war against the Jurzan "given the current level of reactionary military presence in the region," as the paper reads, are to be victorious on the ground within a single week. Carentanian generals in the report cite superior size, equipment and training of socialist soldiers, complete air superiority, the possibility of enforcing a total blockade on Jurzani ports, the indefensible terrain of the country and the massive disparity in terms of industrial base. War in the Long Sea, however, is predicted to be "inconclusive for years," as Carentania expects a prolonged campaign against hostile ground forces in Solaren and intense naval battles in the Long Sea itself. According to Carentanian evaluations, the "overwhelming disparity in terms of fleet strength" would be offset by the strength of Carentanian aerial assets on both sides of the Long Sea, the sudden loss of Jurzan as petrol supplier to Carentanian enemies, the short supply lines of socialist troops and the presence of mainland assets in the operational theater.

The report furthermore indicates a Carentanian invasion of Jurzan, even in case that warfare is initiated in the Long Sea, rather than on the Jurzani border.

Carentania swiftly declared the leaked documents to be "completely falsified" and a "malicious forgery". Whether or not this is true can not be verified with certainty.

Fennian military calls up reservists

The Fennian Union Army has commenced a limited call-up of military reservists according to sources at the Fennian War Office. The call-up for an indefinite period of time will concern several thousand reservists from the Fennian Navy and Marine Corps and the Fennian Air Force in units based in mainland Fennia and New Fennia.

Connection to the growing international tensions in the Long Sea has been suggested by Fennian emigrés and press correspondents in the Union. However, Fennia's War Minister, Admiral Mikael Aminoff was quick to dismiss such a connection in his reference to the need of maintaining an efficient neutrality patrol along the Fennian territorial waters. Fennian military forces have been active in maritime patrol and protection of Fennian shipping during the August Catastrophe and the subsequent re-flaring of international tension of the Mezhist-Miroslav War and the Carentanian naval blockade of the Long Sea, which has been dismissed as an illegal act of piracy by Fennia's de facto leader Stateholder Joakim Häyhä.

At the same time, the Fennian Navy announced that its last remaining battleship UA Turisas was to be brought out of reserve for temporary recommissioning as part of its Northern Thaumantic Fleet. Recommissioning of the Turisas - kept in reserve with regular maintenance - was also attributed to the needs of maintenance of a neutrality patrol.

Sources in Kalevala have indicated that the Fennian government is in preparation of coordinated diplomatic measures against the Carentanian government and is investigating military options in resolving the crisis in concert with several other governments. Additionally, the Foreign Office is said to be assembling support for a multi-national trade embargo targeting Carentania.

In Saturday's edition of Kenttäharmaa, an influential weekly magazine maintained by the League of Fennian Veterans and Servicemen, the Navy's Deputy Chief of Staff Vice Admiral Lauri Rönkkö called for the declaration of the North Thaumantic Ocean a restricted zone from Carentanian shipping enforced by the Fennian Navy and "friendly governments". The Fennian Information Office subsequently commented that Vice Admiral Rönkkö was commenting as a private associate of the League and not in his capacity as Deputy Chief of Staff.

Last night it was heard by AP that 3 Ivernish airships from the Ivernish Air Corps have left Ivernish airspace and are seen to be heading south. A source from the Department of Defence confirmed the movement. "Yes three airships, fitted with radar and radio have been mobilised, heading for the Long Sea. They have strict orders to stay out of national aerospace borders to avoid tension. This is strictly a recon mission, the airships are without weaponry." The source said the locations of the airships would not be made public knowledge. Ivernia has a long history of using airships for reconnaissance missions due to their extremely long range and ability to stay in the air for days or even weeks if necessary. "The airships usually run low on food long before they run out of helium."

Malminmaa or Vesterålen - The small corner of Fennia is a point of transnational controversy

The decades-old dispute over the possession of one region of land in the Northeast of the Fennian Union and to the Southeast of the Kingdom of Agderike - called Malminmaa by the Fennians and Vesterålen by the Agder - again came into light this week in form of transnational controversy related to that particular tract of land. It was Agderike's King Haakon V who restored the issue to the surface in the Agder legistlature, with his refutal of a proposal of railroad cooperation between the two neighboring states, saying that such could not happen until a return of the disputed territory to the Kingdom.

The Fennian government, of course, was quick to dismiss any such possibility including summons made by Fennian Foreign Minister Kauko Vannas for the Agder ambassador in Kalevala. The re-emergence of the territorial dispute comes at a time when the two states have been increasingly close with each other, with their governments having taken common stances especially due to their common opposition of Europe's communist governments. The ongoing Long Sea crisis saw the two states joining in forces in an anti-Carentanian diplomatic campaign, in itself a historical occasion given the tumultous relations between the countries.

The borderlands of Agderike and Fennia have long been a source of conflict, ever since the intermittent border raids made by Norse and the Fenns before the foundation of both Kingdoms. They again became that with the advent of religious conflict between Christians, while in the 19th century Fennian nationalists staked a claim of then-Vesterålen calling it their ancestral land of Malminmaa, a part of "Greater Fennia". When Agderike intervened in the Fennian Unification Wars in 1873, the subsequent Agder-Fennian War saw a peace settlement transferring the territory to the nascent Fennian Union. Since then, Agderike has claimed the area as Vesterålen.

Kalevala continues to consider the area an integral portion of Fennian territory. While retaining a significant Norse community, the area's ethnic makeup has undergone changes since the Agder-Fennian War in form of Fennian immigration and Norse emigration to Agderike, other Fennian cities and the Fennian colonies in Himyar. Especially under the pre-1937 parliamentary governments there were some brief periods of reconciliation attempt ranging from motions of plebiscite to autonomy, but since the ascendancy of General Joakim Häyhä to power Fennia has maintained a policy of considering Malminmaa an integral portion of the Union. The area's capital of Malminlinna is also Northeastern Fennia's most important harbor.

The Häyhist government in Fennia has been keen on maintaining Malminmaa in the Union. Fennian schoolbooks typically portray the 1873-1875 war as a liberation of an ancestral Fennian land from foreign oppression and the war itself as an attempt by Agderike to subjugate the Fennian people and prevent their national unification. Commentary advocating the return of the territory to Agderike or even using the name Vesterålen is typically censored. For instance, the 16th of October editions of Politiken and other Agder newspapers reporting on Haakon V's statements were reportedly immediately banned by the Fennian Information Office. Historically, those in Malminmaa advocating the territory's return to Agderike have been arrested and prosecuted by the Fennian secret police.

When the National Unity Front assumed power in 1937, against protests of the Agder government they immediately initiated a campaign to strenghten Malminmaa's Fennian status with measures such as banning of several Norse nationalist organizations and the arrest and deportation of their leaders into the Protected Territories. As part of the Häyhist armament programs in the 1940s, the existing border posts on the border with Agderike were reinforced through the installment of systems of bunkers, barbed wire, landmines as well as dragon's teeth anti-tank structures.

Recently, Agder-Fennian relations have seen improvement particularly due to common anti-communist stances shared by the governments in the two countries. However, the territorial dispute of Malminmaa-Vesterålen continues to shadow the relations of the two countries, likely for the years to come.

Protests in El Mirador Causes Higher Police Presence

A crowd of protesters arrived on the doorsteps of The Congressional Council Assembly (Congreso asamblea conciliar) today in the heart of our nation's capital to protest the passing and implementation of El Presidente's brainchild, the Immigration and Refugee Law. Though the protests were loud and peaceful, the government called for a higher police presence in El Mirador for security purposes and with the goal of keeping these peaceful protests peaceful.

Though the majority of Tikali citizens do support President Felipe Alvarado and the United Tikali Coalition's decisions on implementing this law rapidly in the face of outside conflict, a large number of Native-Tikali protesters formed the major demographic of those participating in today's demonstrations claiming that this new law is, "Another tactic created by the not-so-benevolant dictator to further destroy what is left of the Native-Tikali culture." said Atlahua Tanok, the Head of the Indigenous People's Society of The Tikali Islands (La sociedad de los pueblos indígenas de las islas Tikale). The Indigenous People's Society have called for this law to be repealed but argue that their lack of representation within Congress as well as the fact that there is only one party governing The Tikali Islands are the two obstacles stopping them dead in their tracks.

Immigration Minister Carlos Batista, in the midst of today's demonstrations, tried to reassure protesters that their rights as individual Native-Tikalis will not be affected by the Immigration and Refugee Law. He also responded to the corruption claims that the Indigenous People's Society have set forward towards President Alvarado. "The United Tikali Coalition, Congress and The President have given the Tikali Islands everything that it currently has economically and socially. The Islands are in no place, however, to begin government reformation. If the indigenous people feel that they are not being well-represented within thier districts, then they must elect a new district minister in January." Batista stated to the Tikali Island's state-run media.

Given the nature of this protest, the Indigenous People's Society say that they will be there to protest the arrival of new immigrants once they do arrive from abraod where the government has promised that "Any sort of violent act or act insighting hate will not be tolerated and will be punished."

Reformed Church "Blacklisted"

The Reformed Church of Potenza lodged an official complaint to both the Prime Minister's and Grand Duke's office, shortly after they were told that they would be banned from partaking in the Solaris relief efforts. This comes shortly after the Archdiocese of San Salvo, by permission of Grand Duke Guido III, was given control over the humanitarian aide going into northern Solaren from the Grand Duchy. The Archdiocese has permitted not only their own humanitarian bodies, but also the humanitarian bodies of secular organizations in Potenza. However, the Reformed Church was told they would not be permitted to enter Solaren, and all current permissions given by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were revoked. In the meantime, the Reformed Church said it would find other ways to assist the Solaris people.

Duke Prospero di Cornaro, Duke of Treviso and the largest patron of the Reformed Church in Potenza, has likewise lodged his own complaint to the Grand Duke. Some Potenzan-based analysts are worried that this closer tie to the Tiburan Catholic Church by the Grand Duke will cause tension between the mostly Protestant north and the rest of the country, which is majority Tiburan Catholic.

Boat carrying Radilan refugees sinks off Sucrecian coast

The Sucrecian Navy has begun an urgent search-and-rescue mission in the Pirates' Corridor after a boat carrying refugees from the Radilan Republic capsized. The number of refugees on board is unknown, but reports from organisations associated with the refugees indicate a few hundred may have been travelling in the vessel.

Thousands of people are estimated every year to attempt to cross the channel between Sucrecia and Radilo in an illegal and unsafe manner. Most are black Radilans seeking to escape the systematic discrimination they face at home under the segregationist regime of the Radilan National Party. Others are traders defying the Sucrecian embargo on Radilo, trying to evade Sucrecian naval patrols.

The Sucrecian Navy will also try and salvage the wreckage of the boat in order to ascertain the reason for its capsizing. The Sucrecian government and human rights groups have accused the Radilan military of firing at refugee craft, and evidence released by the Sucrecian armed forces shows boats damaged with bullet holes. The Radilan government has denied responsibility for the attacks and instead blamed smuggles and pirates operating in the area.

A motion passed almost unanimously by the Grand Assembly of the Free Republic of Sucrecia reaffirmed the country's committment to helping Radilian refugees, who are entitled to citizenship and state aid under the Sucrecian constitution as Negroes, and pledged to increase funding for organisations helping with the transfer of refugees and opposing racial segregation in Radilo.

The Sucrecian Ministry of External Affairs also released a press statement urging refugees trying to enter Sucrecia do so in a safe manner.

Rocket test goes wrong in the Potenzskpond

The government has launched an inquiry following news that one of its long-range rockets veered off-course into the southern Potenzskpond, the inland sea dividing the Grand Duchy of Potenza and the Kingdom of Lorraine following testing of a new rocket off the coast of Danmark.

The rocket, still in experimental phase and dubbed Brandstang II (Firerod II), was one of a series of tests conducted off the coast of Pommerania, Danmark's west coast along the Kattegat. A series of nine rockets were tested most of which were directed along the narrow strait to the south and designed to hit and explode off the coast of Caieta, within international waters. However, one rocket malfunctioned and headed towards and over Lorraine and eventually exploded in the inland sea off Potenza shores, some 720 miles. Reports are that the rocket travelled over the capital of Metz.

The Foreign Ministry immediately announced an apology to Lorraine for the violation of its airspace and towards Potenza for the case of undue alarm. "Due to error, this prototype veered off the course expected and became errant. We send our unmistakable apologies for alarm and unintended violation of sovereign airspace", came the official announcement from Danmark's foreign ministry.

Observers and analysts, however, point to the success of the tests overall as the weapon has proven its potential beyond expectations. "Clearly, Brandstang II is a potent weapon with immense capabilities and with a wide radius. On land, it is has a capability of reaching well into Germania with the ability of reaching as far afield as such places as Franken and Solaren. But this is still in the testing phase and I would expect more from this new missile", opined the editor of Militær Tidsskrift.

Danish ministers of state declare their on-going dedication to sub-alpine spheres

The Great Danish government in the so-named Old Quarter, the nucleus of Danmark's governmental ministries and power-projection, reaffirmed their commitment to the defence of sub-alpine Germania declaring an unequivocal determination to prevent other states seeking trespass in what they designate as their 'duty'.

An increased focus in recent years, trans-alpine Germania has been viewed as the notable back-yard to the integrity of the Danes and with increased fire-power and armament expansion, is not one that they will appear to let go loosely, according to observers of the internal machinations of Old Christiansborg.

"Danmark remains and so shall remain, based on analysis, the preeminent power in this part of the world", the 'Old Mother' declared, Danmark's Assistant Foreign Minister, Fru Munk, speaking to reporters from Ivernia, where she is attending a multi-national conference over the Upper Thaumantic.

"Not for a jot will my government renage on its commitments to that part of the world. Indeed, we are best placed to guarantee this, the stability of Cisalpine Germania. It makes complete sense".

With rocket tests in the Kattegat (separating Danmark from it's neighbour of Lorraine) and towards, but not including the territorial waters of Caieta, together with continued naval expansion in the so-called 'Phase III' of aerial expansion, the Danish kingdom is already the foremost state when judged on naval and airforce numbers and has shown a determination in what it judges as its role in protecting southern Germania by effecting a military umbrella over the region.

Referring to the talks between it's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Henrik Westerveld and the Wieser Heinrich Babelfisch, to ensue in Augsburg, Fru Munk was positive.

"We shall see the finality of the talks in due course but as we can all see, there is a New Relationship which sees Danmark in a position of power and effectuality that it has not seen for some hundreds of years but is fully rooted in historical terms. In that sense, this New Relationship shall be defining in the new era in Germania and I do not believe that will change. But I expect that to be fully enshrined into any and all new arrangements that take in Germania. We are both partners for peace and, I believe, this is seen in both countries. There is a will on both sides here, which is also refreshing".

Rumors of Economic Reprisal

There are rumors within the Ministry of Economy and Finance that measures may be taken to revoke or diminish trade deals with the Imperial State of Sikandara. These rumors came after the Imperial State rejected a move by Potenza to seek a deal in the construction of the Faisal Dam on the Sirhindi River. This was rejected, and the Kingdom of Danmark was given the deal. Those close to Potenzan Prime Minister Gaetano Merlino said he seemed "very bitter", and was looking for "something to get back at them." Another rumor, from an official in the ministry who wished to remain anonymous, said that Grand Duke Guido III himself approved of the prime minister's intentions. More details came out recently in the Sikandari publication Khabarnama-e-Sikandari, which claimed that Potenza was "unhappy" with wheat imports from the Imperial State and was seeking trade elsewhere.

Vincenzo Visco, Potenzan Minister of Economy and Finance, said that the Grand Duchy was reviewing the wheat imports from Sikandara, but denied there were any connections between the Faisal Dam affair and this review.

Danish communists arrested after royal treason

A furore has broken out in the Danish capital following a press release by the Danish communistic Ny Venstre (New Left) party calling for the forced overthrow of the monarchy, declaration of a Danish republic but, above all, describing King Frederik III as a 'a whorish homosexual playmaster'.

The statement came following many months of quiet from Ny Venstre, still licking post-election defeat wounds and factional infighting within the party. But the days of quiet have been broken in a spectacular fashion with the remarks. Hours after the announcement became public, 21 members of the party were arrested on grounds of Treason of State and incitement in a raid on the party headquarters in the suburbs of Christiansborg. Reports are that at least three party members suffered serious head wounds from blows to the head from police truncheons, with one incurring a broken nose and teeth following reportedly fierce resistance and attempts at barricading sections of the headquarters to the police.

Eighteen men and three women, among them the leader of the party Helga von Stromsgaard, are currently held in police station cells dotted around the city awaiting a court appearance tomorrow on charges. However, the news has renewed calls from the right with some even going as far as to demand a ban on the party and seizure of its assets.

The government has not declared its move in relation to Ny Venstre at this stage but was rigourous in its condemnation. Mr Schneider-Krogsgaard, the Danish prime minister, called the left-party's statement "an insidious and intolerable slander against the king and the vilest piece of writing from a political party in history".

It is not clear what impact the arrests and the fallout from the statement will have on the the party and upon other left parties but hints are that a new stage of infighting has started with several key members of Ny Venstre distancing themselves and calling for the party leader to resign her position. Fears grow of a hardline attitude to communist parties and the left here in Danmark which some have cautioned against. "There have to be peaceful outlets for the people to express their opinion even if those opinions can be somewhat difficult to stomach", said one social democrat Folkhuset (parliament) member. But one nationalist parliamentary member was clear: "This lot should be hung from the rafters. It is a pity we no longer have the death penalty".

The Royal Court has refused any comment on both the incidents and the accusations of the monarch's homosexuality.

Danmarks institutions and government have repeatedly worked to establish itself a name as Europes capital of reactionary and imperialist thought, and it seems that the same repressive and violent stance it takes on people abroad, may it be in the Danish colonies, in Raigestan or in Agderike, the Monarchy is also keen to apply to its own people.

Danish Crown Jewels meet unexpected splendour with dual-crown coronation due

The royal jewels have been given a polish and careful touch ahead of the crowning of the Danish king here in Christiansborg on the long-awaited coronation following King Frederik's succession on the death of his father, King Henrik XIII, and that of Agderike after the death of Haakon V there.

The Imperial Crown of State, the Crown of St. Ansgaard, has been given a make-over in preparation with it's star-piece, the Glimmering Light of the Moon, a shimmering and huge pearl from Gladsheim, the star piece.

The crown, estimated to cost a nominal RS 427 million (shillings), but essentially priceless, is the prize crown and one of several that decorate the Danish crown jewels, an immense set of regal, symbolic and imperial splendour.

Great preparations have taken place here in Christiansborg with street-cleaners scouring the concrete and stoned-paving for dirt and the hanging out of vermilion and white flags, but with some flags displaying Agerric red and rampant lions recumbent with axes upon them, alongside flowing pennants and bunting in preparation of the coronation.

But, the big question is asked here on the streets, will the king be crowned king of the Kingdom of Agderike? The expectation is so. Even though it might not happen in Kristiania, the royal and official capital of Agderike, it will take place here in the imperialistic centre of Danmark, Christiansborg, with an Investiture to take place in Kristiania when time and circumstances suit.

During the night, swathes of Christiansborg have been cut off in dress rehearsals for the coronation with residents reporting the clatter of horse hooves on the streets, the rattle of grand carriages, and the blasting out of royal fanfares.

For this country, Agderike, and the world, this is expected to be a significantly magnificent and momentous occaision that is about to take place.

Potenza Expands Occupational Force

The Potenzan government revealed today that it had begun transporting the First Brigade of the Folgore (Airborne) Division earlier this month. This had been planned before in response to mounting fear of aggression from Carentanian forces against Potenzan and Eiffellandese in Solaren, but had been postponed when a council among the various leaders was agreed upon. Throughout the past few weeks, the Folgore had been deployed a few squads at a time into the local airport in northern Solaren in an effort to prevent too much notice. When the news was leaked, the Potenzan Defense Ministry confirmed it, saying that the Folgore's First Brigade had been sent to assist the Scipio's Own Division in the creation of defensive preparations, should the Carentanians attack. There was no word yet on whether or not the rest of the Folgore would be deployed into northern Solaren.

Sources inside the Potenzan government say that ministers, and possibly Prime Minister Gaetano Merlino, are growing less and less confident that a cooperative effort with Carentania would be feasible into the next year.

Explosions in the peninsula

The city of Rovograd was shaken last night by a series of explosions made by three bomb cars, one in front of the Police Headquarters, one in front of the town hall and another in front of the Saint Paul Cathedral. The explosions took place around midnight. Police and Firefighters were present in a few minutes after the deflagrations. There were tree casualties, all at the police headquarters, the town hall and the cathedral being empty during the night.

The bombings came as a response after the killing of terrorist Abdul Kader last week during a raid of the Salvation Army in a neighborhood of the capital city where it was believed that the terrorists have a conspiratorial house. A few minutes after the bombings, declarations were found at the main press trust headquarters in which the People's Liberation Front declared this "a move against the imperialist oppressors (town hall), their dogs, tho support them,the Salvationists and against the leaders and the shadow rulers of them all, the oligarchic Orthodox Christian Priesthood."

The insurgency in Zamosk started in May, with the first main move being the Front's "June Offensive" where they bombed the office building of the Talemantine base and a police station in Rovograd, the main building of the airport in Asau though the car bomb was too far away from the airport and all that it managed to do was to shatter the windows of the building and also the bombing of the 3 Christian Churches in the city. The insurgency continued with raids from the Salvation Army, now armed and funded by the Talemantine soldiers occupying the peninsula and sporadic bombings from the Liberation Front. In the last three declarations, the Front has also declared that something major, even bigger than the June Offensive is being prepared. The Salvation Army is on high alert.

Republican Demands in Agder

ULRIKEN — The Republican Congress held among prominent Republican supporters from each part of Agderike came to a close when they issued a document for the public to see, to coincide with the dispatch they just gave the Folkting at Kristiania. Support for Republicanism has risen over the past week, as infighting between monarchists while the relative poverty of the people continues has slowly drawn outrage.

The Children of Revolution of 1875 understanding the desire of the people of former Kingdom of Agderike to determine for themselves a fair and just society, and resolving to provide guidance to the national dialogue state;

Having constituted a special Congress to address the issues of the day and era,
Having received news of the confirmation of a Queen of the Østwegians and Nordmann,
Having further received information of the advance of the Army to join the cause of the Monarchist Hammerfest Parliament in lieu of the King of the Danes: King Frederik III,

Considers that the present situation in Skandia is one which is likely to impair the general welfare and friendly relations among nations for the People that constitute the residents of the geographic regions known as Agder and Fey;

Takes note of the declaration by the King of the Danes that he has succeeded to the throne of the Crown of Agder and Fey;

Recommends to the Folkting, as the mandatory Power that is established in Kristiania, and to all other communities within Agderike, with regard to the future Government for the Nords, of the Plan of Future Government set out below;

Requests that

the Folkting declare the foundations of a new Nation of the Østwegians to be exemplified by the formation of a National Constitution to be written, formed, and tasked by the people of Agder and Fey;

the Folkting consider the formation of the Republic of Østveg, with Her Royal Majesty and her future extended family to serve as Head of State until such confidence can be placed as at a loss in their abilities to serve the nation;

the Folkting recognizing the loss of political leadership and will-power in the opposition of Danish forces, the Royal Council in Kristiania and the Parliament of Hammerfest, immediately set forth the election of a President of the Østwegians to lead the nation in policy and war;

the Folkting declare the Crown of Agder and Fey and the subsequent Kingdom of Agderike as null and voided;

the Queen of the Østwegians, cede her executive powers to the President of the Østwegians.

Sikandara elections proceed without trouble

Early this morning, on New Year's Day, polls opened across Sikandara for the citizenry to exercise its democratic right, with Election Commission and Supreme Court appointed organisations monitoring the proceedings. The general election, which was held three years earlier due to serious political disagreements in the Sikandari legislature which could have led to a constitutional crisis.

Despite serious conflicts raging in its immediate neighbourhood and a tense political atmosphere domestically, the day has gone by without any violence or untoward events – much to the relief of the populace, state and security administration. The presence of independently appointed monitors is a measure being enforced by the authority of the Sikandari Emperor, to prevent tampering of the ballots and to ensure transparency throughout the proceedings of the election.

Though the results are not expected to be announced for a week, national political analysts have predicted a resounding victory for the IeD – or Enlightened Reformists, in English – and the religious IFI – or Muslim Reformists – at the expense of the conservative, feudal oriented Imperial Party and the Labour Party, both have seen their popularity drop due to their perceived irresponsibility during the Parliamentary Crisis which led to the general elections.

REPORT: Attacks in Akbariyeh, several killed and injured

A serious situation is unfolding in the Sikandari city of Akbariyeh, where unidentified gunmen have opened fire on several civilian gathering points, such as the city's main railway station and the sprawling market district. While details at this point are scarce, Sikandari radio has reported that thirty people have been injured and three casualties have been reported. Local journalists have informed our offices that the city's police has engaged with the gunmen and heavy gun battles are unfolding through various parts of the city. The Sikandari government has refused to respond to queries and phone calls have gone unanswered.
