Voivode Adamu Zaxaria Maric calls back the historical parties as the tensions between the Legion and the authorities reaches new heights
AP Trier

Voivode Adamu Zaxaria Maric has called back to Kruseva all the historical parties that went in exile after the victory of the integralists in the revolution. The first to accept the invitation was the Revolutionary Communist League, the party that led the fight against the royalists and then against the integralists in the 2nd decade of the century. They were followed by the Social Liberal Union and by the National Liberal Party. The first ones will be arriving in Kruseva from Fennia, while the other two from Eiffelland. The return of the parties from exiles hails the end of the extreme right regime from Kruseva.

The call of the voivode comes at a time in which the tensions between the secular authorities and the Slavic Christian Church have reached new heights, the threats of civil war looming over the country. Since the first day it was formed, the Holy Legion of Saint Sventovit started to terrorize the Carian, Eiffellander, Catholic, Saxon, Solar and Carian-rite Christians all over the country. In just a couple of days there were a series of reports declaring that there were also attacks of the legionaries targeting the state police and the Department of National Security.

As the foreign image of the regime has been totally compromised because of the actions of the Volkhv and the church, linked with the leak that presented a plan of the fascists to take over Caria, the Voivode gave a speech today declaring the disbandment of the National Republic and the return of the historical parties from exile to form a national salvation government to end the nationalist dictatorship in Kruseva.

As he was speaking, the Department of National Security and the State Police were organizing a crackdown against the legionaries and against the leaders of the Church and of the National Integralist Union. They will be condemned for terrorism, for creating a criminal organization and for the destruction of the Krusevan society. Finishing his speech, the Voivode declared that he will willingly surrender to the authorities and that he resigns from his position.

Ivernia still in stalemate with Milesia
AP Alderburgh

Following a great deal of media silence coming from the High Kingdom of Ivernia, and scant information from national papers within the Gaelic nation, AP Wire can report that as of February 3rd, Ivernish Military forces have still remained at the Milesian Border. Declared by the Ivernish Government as a ''stalemate'', the leading party Claíomh Solais is currently ''in talks'' with the separatist movement in Milesia - based in Vedrarfjord - the ''Columbanus Movement''.

The Columbanus Movement was declared as ''separatist extremists'' by Claíomh Solais, which has been announced as ''dangerous extremists'' by Columbanus.

The Columbanus Movement, in what little air time it would give to AP Wire has stated that the talks with Claíomh Solais are ''a farce, a show for the public'' and the true intention of the stalemate was ''siege tactics on the entire Milesian state''.

Polls are showing that public support for Claíomh Solais is increasing Ivernia wide, whereas support for Columbanus has increased within Milesia since the 'stalemate' began.

Claíomh Solais has announced that due to the ongoing crisis, the Elections date set the previous Party-Majority DC has been delayed.

Also we thank the Trierer office of Associated Press for sending us the documents, as well as the anonymous officer of the Kruševan DNS. We are investigating the link between the Kruševan general Latas and the Carian general Pelasgiotis as well. We offer our assistance to the Carian Government in the case of a destabilisation of the country.

We are also monitoring the situation in Kruševa. Of course we greet a move by the Kruševan Government towards a more democratic form of government. However, we advice the Vojvode to watch out for the development of a vacuum of power. The transition to a new form of government must take place in a controlled manner.

Aurarine Troops Deploy to Cyclopeian Border
AP Solis

As the nation prepares for the 1955 Spring Legislative Session, President Santana has stunned the nation by ordering the deployment of two divisions to the Aurarine-Cyclopeian Border. Without question, this is the largest deployment Auraria has every made on the border and in our opinion sends a powerful message – or even a threat. President Santana, the 47 year old inaugurated on January 15 of this year, declared that the decision was made after countless internal negotiations as to the response to the attack on the Amarysian League.

“Any action taken against the Workers shall be seen as a provocation against the CUEA and the workers of every country. The true criminal act of our generation would be allowing such injustices to continue.”

The President’s vague statement and show of force contradicts strongly with his predecessor’s commitments to winding down the military prowess of Auraria – a move that had a mixed reception in the People’s Assembly.

Your excellency,

The communique that was released by the Office of the First Consul from Bourogne sadly shows that by now, the realities of the war and revolution in Cyclopeia are far from the eyes and ears of the Burgundians. It is clear that the Aurarian people's state is doing everything to defend the borders of their state especially knowing that since early autumn, Cyclopeia has been the grounds of one of the world's bloodiest revolutions and civil wars. Currently, the war in Cyclopeia was started by the fascist Junta which back stabbed its allies from the triarchy and attacked them. It is clear that by this time, all civilized nations of the world should at least condemn this attack, if not even join the defenses of free Cyclopeia. The Junta should be the one condemned, not the Aurarians.

People's Minister of External Affairs,

While we thank the Aurarian President as well as the entirety of the workers and farmers of the Aurarine nation for their care about the freedom of the workers of the Amarysian League, the border next to which Aurarine forces have been deployed is under the control of the Amarysian League, just like all of the northern border line. If the Aurarines would agree we welcome them to join us on the war front of the Titanian mountains to take the fight to the northern lines of the Junta. We also thank the Burgundians for their interest in peace across the region though we are certain the Aurarines had only the good of the workers and peasants of Cyclopeia in mind.

Sirs,

While the Wendowie understand, appreciate, and embrace the sentiment that all disputes must be settled first with diplomacy, and that violence must only be a last resort, we must remind the Office of the First Consul of Bourgogne that this present dispute began due to an unlawful, unprovoked and surprise strike by the Junta against the Amarysian League. Through their actions, the Junta has demonstrated that they do not care for nor respect law and diplomacy, and so the response by the United Communes of Auraria is justified, as are the responses of the Amarysian League, the Democratic People's Republic of Kruseva, and the response of the Wendowie themselves. We hope that the Government of Bourgogne can appreciate that, at least.

Sincerely,

Bourgogne's message is to not give up hope of finding a way to peacefully end the situation. We do not dispute the fact that military force is sometimes needed and even justified. We only argue that even in the midst of the use of force, it should not be forgotten that peace can come from ways other than that of the bayonet

Legistlative Deadlock and Compromise in the Rzeczpospolita Ludowa Wendziema
AP Nowogród

The unity of leftists that the Rzeczpospolita Ludowa Wendziema had hoped to express earlier in the Cyclopeian Civil War has, clearly, failed with the recent actions taken by the legislature of the Wendowie. Despite the efforts of Nadzorca Franciszek Komorowski and his legislative associate Krzysztof Kowaleski to drum up support for official military intervention on the side of the Amarysian League against the Cyclopeian Junta, the Rzeczpospolita Congress has encountered fierce resistance from liberal republicans and social democrats, as well as other non-communists and non-post-statists who have filibustered and voted down legislative decrees authorizing intervention. Officially, they argue against "sending Wendowie troops abroad when they are needed at home, to safeguard the freedoms recently won against the Dansk tyrants" as one leading liberal delegate argues. However, anonymous interviews have shown that they are indeed willing to intervene in Cyclopeia, but only if the lion's share of the intervention goes to the Duchy of Oenotria, which also finds itself in conflict with the Junta of Nauplio, but is decidedly not leftist.

Although many moderate delegates maintain their denial of such backroom politics, it is clear that the deadlock will not be broken anytime soon, a frustrating scenario for the more revolutionary leftists as they find more and more opposition to their policies that leaves the productivity of Wendowie government at a standstill, combined with fierce renewed resistance by Dansk Remnants of the previous Reich regime in the west. Frustration is growing amongst the Wendowie populace at the lack of activity by the Wendowie government, and there are growing signs of discontent amongst Dansk and Vas minorities in the Rzeczpospolita Ludowa, which complain about the "distinct lack of representation and enduring hypocrisy of the Wendowie dominated government", which has been acknowledged by revolutionary elements in the legislature. One delegate stated "this is a betrayal of our ideals, not extending to the Dansk and Vas workers the same rights and dignities that the Wendowie possess. To be just like the Reich Remnants is to cast aside everything we fought for, and put us back on the road to tyranny, a road I for one refuse to travel down again."

It is unclear how the deadlock will be broken, or if it can be broken, but for now, volunteers from both the revolutionaries and the moderates are the only forces the Rzeczpospolita Ludowa will be sending to Cyclopeia, and to two separate factions at that. How this will play out in the days to come remains to be seen.

Peace returns to Cyclopeia!
AP Nauplio

Yesterday forces loyal to the Alkimonid Crown captured Nauplio, the last stronghold of the Junta and the capital of all of Cyclopeia, ending the Civil War that had plagued the country for months, following a revolution. The Naupliots and low ranking officers and soldiers rose up against the Junta and arrested or executed its members. The Socialists and Monarchists were both racing to capture the capital first. Originally most anticipated the Socialists to take the city since they were closer. However the Monarchists marched day and night for two days straight and managed to get to the city first and convince its garrisson to sign the papers surrendering it to them. The Socialists entered the city a few hours later and headed to the Guard HQ asking for the city's surrender. The Commander of the Nauplio's Guard is quoted as saying "I had one Nauplio to surrender and I already did." (Είχα ένα Ναύπλιο να παραδώσω, και το παρέδωσα. - Icha ena Nafplio na paradoso, kæ to paredosa.). The troops of both sides celebrated though it is widely believed the Socialists were not extremely happy with the Ducal Army's capture of Nauplio, as it once again legitimizes the formerly deposed Alkimonid dynasty. In any case Naupliots and all Cyclopeians are happy for their country of many Polis, City States, to finally be free from the Junta. Its future will be determined in an important summit in Nauplio. There leaders of the Amarysian League and Duchy will meet, whle ambassadors from @ , @ , @ , Wendziema ( @ ) and @ have been invited.

The Vas People's Republic congratulates the Cyclopeian people for their victory against fascism. We hope that peace can finally come now on the shores of the long sea and that this summit in Nauplio can bring all of us on the path of prosperity and solidarity.

The People's Republic will be represented by its ambassador to Sounio, Csizmaida Miklos and we will do everything is humanly possible to help the Cyclopeian people get over the fascist aggression that may have created deep wounds i the unity of the people, maybe even worse than the revolution itself. The Popular Front wishes to award the Medal of Revolution to Cleisthenes Zorbas and to Endrefi Janos for their participation on the events that have ended with the emancipation of the Cyclopeian people from feudalism and fascism.

We congratulate you all for this great victory!

Report:Religious Rights in Auraria
AP Solis

(Solis, Auraria) When the nation’s 1911 Constitution was implemented, the Aurarine State officially declared itself an atheist nation and banned all public displays of religious affiliation. Arguments can be made as to whether or not the nation was the first to make such a move, but according to a new report: it certainly enforces it harshly.

Auraria has several non-discrimination laws in place and numerous cover religious liberties. The current law in the nation is that no public displays of religious affiliation can be allowed, the only exception being churches themselves. People are allowed, in theory, to practice religion to their fullest extent in private areas. Churches are subjected to the same property taxes and legal responsibilities that other establishments are entitled and responsible to. Despite the non-discrimination laws being in place, they are more often than not completely ignored by authorities on all levels.

From 1950 to 1954, the time period of the study, nearly 75% of all cases of religious hate crimes went under-investigated or completely ignored by Aurarine police forces across the nation. There is a particular stigma against inner city churches.

“It is hard being openly religious in Valderrubio,” says one citizen “Just last week my car had its windows smashed in. If ever there was a test of faith, it would be in Auraria.”

One incident that caught particular attention is in 1953 when a public book burning saw several churches ransacked across Solis and hundreds of religious texts were burnt. Authorities did little to stop the mobs. Chairman Rivero, the predecessor of current Chairman Aurelio Santana, called on legislative action to increase protections towards religious peoples and demanding increased police action. The Legislature did respond and reimbursed churches financially as well as some weak protections to prevent such an event from occurring again. For individuals, the situation is worse.

“I find it easier to keep my mouth shut and live my life in peace,” says one citizen.
“Our faith is the business of no one else, yet they come after us as though we’re a societal disease,” says another.

Chairman Santana, who assumed the office in January, has been no vocal advocate for religious equality in Auraria. He’s gone on record numerous times attacking the religious lifestyle.

“If Auraria was to allow increased religious discourse into our national conversation, I cannot fathom the repercussions. Women would be killed in the streets, sold off to other men bytheir fathers, forced to remain silent in all of our societal discussions. Men would have their genitals mutilated on their birth in a custom that honors aman who tortured his own child,” Santana spoke “Such customs will never be allowed to thrive in Auraria’s society. In our nation, our faith and strength rests in science and progress.”

The report details discrimination across the board, notably in the workplace and schools. Businesses have fired employees with religious ties and some have flat out refused service. Even hospital emergency rooms have turned away religious people. Most schools do not teach religion and if they do, it is lumped together in a typical mythology class.

A growing movement is called for equality among the religious. They demand that regardless of their religious identities, they deserve the same blessings and protections that any human gets in Auraria.

“Auraria prides itself on being a free place, but this is not freedom! Auraria must welcome all those who seek refuge from capitalism, religious or not,” says Spokesman Roberto Trujillo.

Despite the efforts, the complaints are falling on deaf ears. The report labels Auraria as one of the worst nations in regards to religious freedom on the planet. It would appear that the Government and policy makers have no interest in reversing that trend, or protecting the people who fall under such identities.

All quiet on the Celtic Front
AP Dún Midhe

This is AP News,

You're watching an Associated Press televised broadcast, next up is ''One minute in your world - All quiet on the Celtic front''

**Cue to scenes of soldiers standing and waiting in a wide grassland, forests wrap the horizon. A Scorpion tank rests in the background.**

The ongoing stalemate inside of the High Kingdom of Ivernia between Nemedia and Milesia has caused the Ivernish nation to become withdrawn from the world, with no clear end in sight between the two Provinces. Military action still seems unlikely however both sides are drawing up reserves and garrisons near their shared border.

AP Dún Midhe goes into the frozen conflict zone to give you accounts from the Celtic people themselves.

**Cue to a reporter in front of a small farm, a middle age man in old clothing standing in front of the reporters microphone.**

''Shure it's terrible, shure it's terribl' all together'' says a Milesian farmer living near Dún Baile, 15km south from the Nemedian Border. ''I never liked the look of dose Columbasnus lads shure down in Vedrarfjord. I can' get crops up to Formoria with the Nemedian border closed did they ever think of tha'? No! All a' Vedrarfjord and Milesia is loosing money fast.''

**Cue to Vedrarfjord, a reporter next to a woman outside of a large ornate building by the docks. Down the street a lot of garbage, loose planks of wood and metal railings are strewn around the street - possibly a former barricade.**

''I support the Columbanus Movement, well I mean obviously.'' A civil worker from Vedrarfjord said for our journalists, ''Claíomh Solais are just trouble, their banning unions and strikes and everything. They're too corporatist. They're going to ruin businesses down here. I mean I'm a union member an they do a bunch of great stuff for us here.''

**Cue to old overhead shot of Columbanus Square, the center of Vedrafjord. The square is bustling with people and looks lively. Slowly graduate into today's shot of the same square. Tents, barricades and burn marks. The people look tired and restless.**

The Columbanus Movement has declared itself as a 'fully autonomus' part of the High Kingdom of Ivernia with ''no oversight'' from Dún Midhe - a small step away from complete separation.

Dún Midhe has continuously condemned their actions. Since Nuada Airgetlám has been declared Taoiseach-in-acting due to his parties majority, has declared the Columbanus Movement as ''treasonous socialists'' and ''a danger to Ivernia the nation, not just the state of the High Kingdom.''

While Airgetlám has promised ''military answers to the socialists questions'' the military continues to wait at the border.

**Cue shot of Tara Castle, overlooking Dún Midhe city.**

Rumours from Tara Castle say the High King of Ivernia, also the Commander in Chief, refuses to agree to any armed action to the problem.

Brutal crackdown on Communist Party continues
AP Shahdara

Following the banning of the Communist Party of Sikandara earlier this year, the Sikandari government has launched a brutal crackdown against the organisation and its membership. Yesterday, on the directions of the provincial authorities of Osmaniyeh Province, the party's headquarters in that impoverished province (which was regarded as the stronghold for the party) were raided by police officials and the intelligence services - in a raid which saw the deaths of 13 staff members of the party and the arrest of another 60 from the headquarters. Earlier today, the police spokesman for the city of Osmaniyeh announced that the city police had arrested 678 members of the party, following an investigation of the party's lists, retrieved from the headquarters raid the day before.

The city of Osmaniye, a metropolis to the Sikandari north-east, was long considered a stronghold of the Marxist party and the crackdown has spread a wave of panic and fear among its inhabitants. It has been noted that cases of enforced disappearances have increased six-fold and a partial curfew was placed on certain areas of the city known for their particularly strong communist communities. At present, while total numbers remain unclear, it is said that the government has arrested 2,875 members of the Communist Party (in total following the ban of the party). Human rights activists have sought to bring attention to the fact that many of those who have been released have shown signs of torture.

This follows after last week's Supreme Court decision to sentence three senior leaders of the party to death for treason and a further seven were sentenced to life imprisonment, for a lesser charge of inciting violence against the State. The current crackdown against the Communist Party is complicated by the fact that currently the Sikandari Parliament has 5 members of the party sitting as members and the law does not allow sitting MPs to be arrested in any form or manner. Following the banning of the party, the Speaker of the Parliament barred the 5 Communist MPs from attending the sessions and issued an order to place them under house arrest (a power which the speaker has to reprimand and punish offending MPs). It is believed that Chancellor Suleymani's call for an early election on May 20th was prompted by a desire to remove the Communist MPs from the Parliament.

Media Blackout in Wendziema Continues Into Seventh Day
AP Trier

On April 1st, the Rzeczpospolita Ludowa Wendziema went silent. All radio stations, television stations, and newspaper publishers went dark, and reporters at the Associated Press headquarters in Nowogrod were strongly advised to leave, at gunpoint. With reports of the European Press Agency being advised to do the same, in the same manner, we had no choice but to leave, with an aura of dread over us. Combined with reports in foreign capitals of all diplomatic missions being withdrawn, and the foreign volunteers in the Amarysian League in Cyclopeia being ordered to return to their homeland as soon as they could manage, paints a dark picture over the revolutionary nation.

Seven days later, Wendziema remains silent, but there are rumors leaking out of the silent land, and the rumors are disturbing.

One of the rumors is that revolutionary hero Franciszek Komorowski resigned from the Rzeczpospolita, accompanied by many leftist radicals, and declared a new revolution to overthrow it and the moderates that now headed it. Such a move, if true, presents a decisive blow to the internal legitimacy of the Rzeczpospolita, but other rumors seem to indicate that the Rzeczpospolita is still alive, if altered. A more disturbing rumor is that the moderates in the Rzeczpospolita have entered into negotiations with the Dansk Remnant, in order to counter Franciszek's new revolution, which would represent a complete turnaround in Rzeczpospolita perceptions towards the fascist, monarchist and nationalist guerilla fighters. Such a turnaround can only be driven by desperate circumstances.

The most disturbing rumor as of now, however, is that the Dansk Remnants are being led by someone new, who has given them a new lease on life and is taking advantage of the chaotic situation in Wendziema. If this rumor is true, it is unlikely that the true moderates, liberals, socialists and democrats, will last long in a tug of war between extreme leftists led by Komorowksi, and extreme rightists led by this new force of personality, known currently as the "Lordprotektor".

Despite the media exile, we at the Associate Press will keep Europe updated on the continuing crisis in Wendziema.

It was clear even from the beginning that the so called People's Republic, or the Rczeczpospolita Ludowa was a mere farce in the way they presented themselves as a people's government, a real state commanded by the people. It is clear that when such utopian ideas are experimented, usually disaster follows. Wendziema shows this clearly now, as we see how the whole ideals of the revolution that took place a year ago are waning and its power hungry leaders have started to kill eachother just to continue their criminal tradition of destruction.

Neither left nor right wingers care in Wendziema of the people. If they would have cared, they would have resolved their disputes in a democratic way, with referendums and non violence. But this shows that moderates, communists, fascists, and all the other splinter groups are so power hungry that they will do everything to get to power, even to destroy their own people and country.

We clearly condemn what is happening in Wendziema and thus we urge any Madai citizen to avoid the zone until peace will return to the Central Germanian lands.

Cyclopeia stands united!
AP Nauplio

The National Assembly of Cyclopeia confirmed through an official statement that a compromise has been reached between the Socialist and Monarchist factions of the country. A proposal by the Duke of Oenotria, based on ideas of the Eiffellander ambassador, was accepted by the President of the Amarysian League leading to an outbreak of applause in the chambers of the assembly. Reportedly the Security came in because they were scared that there was an uproar, as the noise of the 500 and more delegeates could be heard from the outer rooms of the fairly large building. The proposal submitted will make Cyclopeia a Confederation of sorts, focused on direct democracy and granting great autonomy to all its entities. A remarkable feature is the preference of a Council of Delegates to govern the nation's central government instead of a single Head of State. More details are to be added when the draft of the new Constitution is finalized. In all celebrations across the nation and in its diaspora however a single message was clear: "Cyclopeia stands united!".

We applaud the consensus that has been reached in Cyclopeia. We speak out the hope that this consensus will remain, and that Cyclopeia will finally become a place of peace. We will continue to give our support to the people of Cyclopeia, and we will continue to stand for the safety of Cyclopeia against any threat from outside.

The news from the Collectivist Union is more disturbing. We are extremely surprised that suddenly the lights went out there, especially given the fact that things were going steadily. We condemn who-ever is responsible for igniting the next episode of violence in the Collectisist Union. Like stated by the Government of Media, it should have been possible to make compromises about how to govern the country. We will prepare ourselves for the next stream of refugees from the Collectivist Union. Refugee camps will be set up in advance. We will not intervene in the Collectivist Union, but we will send troops to the North to prevent the conflict from spreading into Eiffelland. The troops in question will be from the 2nd Army, which is a conscript army. This means that these troops cannot be used in an offensive war given the Constitution of Eiffelland and the current division of seats in the Staatstag and the Staatsrat. We will only prepare for the case that we have to defend ourselves.

Sikandara calls for international alliance to counter global threats
AP Shahdara

The Government of Sikandara has made a statement in which it has urged stable countries such as Eiffelland, Wiefel, Bourgogne, Media, Nichtstein, and others, to unite in a bloc to counter radical elements that are developing the world. The spokesman from the Foreign Office said that the Government would actively canvas support amongst these nations to ensure that the common strategic interests of the countries were safeguarded as a collective. The recent stand by the Sikandari government seems to be connected with the worsening situation in Ivernia and the Collectivist Union.
