Well, it is worth noting that one of the first explorers to find it were from Yujin according to our current RP lore, and that would've been even further east. :/

July Naming Convention

As was discussed, this month a new naming convention will be held. The first convention yielded 49 replies, and the second one yielded 50. Not everyone liked the Thaumantic, or the Occidentia Continent - but it got people talking in both cases.

The next three days will be used for nominations, then three days of suggestions for the convention choice, then three days of voting. All in all nine days for people to have their say.

I'm nominating the general sea area south of the South Yujin Sea, which seems to be shared by Yujin, Anhalt, Munhwa, Siyang, Eastern States, Kanem-Bornu, Cantignia, and potentially more players.

Minor note: is it OK if I call the big sea next to me the Potenzan Sea? :p I've been calling that in a few posts. Doesn't really affect anyone except, well, Lorraine, I think.

Sure, that works. However, I'd like a name for the divide between Sarmatia and my little slice of radical freedom. Is it alright if I name it? Seeing as Zalonarus and I are the only people on the divide.

Individual nations/players can name anything anything at their own leisure, for example Monterrey calling Occidentia: Zulia-Santander. These conventions are for the purpose of labeling the map and informing the community on a majority decision on place names.

I would nominate to see Gallia-Germania changed, as I was going to add continental names to the map but could not bring myself to add that unoriginal term.

Also, perhaps the sea around Zadar-Istria which borders Talemantrous, Altai, Carentania, Vangala, Khalistan and Polasciana.

Alright, the South Yujin Sea received four nominations and the Sindh Sea received two and a half. South Yujin Sea seems to have won.

Naming Convention :: South Yujin Sea

Third Naming Convention
"The South Yujin Sea +"

In an effort to improve our map, the game, and the relationship between players and the aforementioned: we have decided to begin holding naming conventions for bodies of water, land mass, and perhaps even some natural wonders to behold.

The third convention is held for "The South Yujin Sea". Toyou is finally a hotbed for activity, with the addition of several new nations, and a renewed Yujin Republic, and this sea region could play a part in future RP for several months to come.

In this thread you can discuss your alternatives for renaming this sea, with which a poll will be assembled on late Monday or Tuesday to decide.

To be clear, this is the body of water that stretches from where the "South Yujin Sea" is labeled on the current map, southward, until we hit the coast of Cantignia?

Yeah, same question: are we replacing the name South Yujin Sea, or we keeping the S. Yujin Sea and adding in a 'super name' for the greater water body?

Well, my original idea has something to do with treasure or fortune. The sea is the gateway to the East, unlocking the colonies of the Eastern States and Cantignia, as well as the wealthy and exotic nations of Touzen and Yujin. Through this sea I imagine many spices, silks, and ceramics were traded. As such, my ideas are...

Mare Fortuna
Jade Sea
Mare Opes
Pelagian Gulf
