Condensed Naming Convention Threads (Outdated)

The idea behind renaming or naming water and land masses is to: A. Create wiki articles or improve existing ones with etymology and history. B. Give all players the opportunity to interact with how features on the map are named.

The discussion started there. If this is a critical issue to you, then elect to hold another convention for this sea next time around. My goal is to have 1 week of nominations for each convention, around a week of debate time, and a week of polls to decide.

Keeping things like the map fresh and active is a good thing, not too radical, and sustainable for even players that log in only once a week.

Perhaps in the next convention, this one had Thaumantic decided by initial majority, then tie broke by the mapmaker on the second vote.

Naming Convention Nominations

As was discussed, this month a new naming convention will be held. Thaumantic Ocean had a narrow majority, though a few people were still unhappy. I also understand that Coro wants to rename the Boreas Continent. Davy and Wasatch might want to do that as well.

The next three days will be used for nominations, then three days of suggestions for the convention choice, then three days of voting. All in all nine days for people to have their say.
