Congress has late start on Budget

November has entered its last day, and only now has the Congress begun work on the 2010 budget. The Government is concerned with lower taxes as much as physically possible without cutting defense spending or social welfare. President Sanford has expressed concern over whether or not the budget will be ready by 2010, but the Congress has assured the President it will be.

President Sanford calls Anglia “Belligerent”

The Kingdom of Anglia and the Kingdom of Belmont have had historically bad relations. In fact, those bad relations are part of the reason the Confederate States is an independent nation. Belmont Officials have confirmed that the Kingdom of Anglia has been supporting terrorism within Belmont. The Department of State has put the Kingdom of Anglia on their list of terror sponsoring nations. The President said that “Belmont has been a long time ally of the Confederate States and we are more than willing to stand by our ally.”

Terrorists are operating within the Confederate States

The Department of Defense has released a statement that there are terrorists operating within the Confederate States. The goal of many of these terrorists is to reinstate the old way of governance and destroy everything the Government has worked for. Many of the meetings these terrorists are having have been stopped by the Government and the terrorists have been executed.
President Sanford said he intends to keep these terrorists at bay and will do whatever it takes to avoid a national catastrophe.

Homosexuals continue to spread AIDS/HIV

Health Officials have confirmed that Homosexual sexual relations are continuing the spread of the disease AIDS/HIV. The President has been working profusely to stop the spread of the disease, and has even passed many laws to make sure the disease was contained. The President’s laws are helping the situation. The President has asked the Department of Health and Human Services to look for new ways to combat the situation.

Defense Department ends plot by Communists to kill President Sanford

Today, the Department of Defense has successfully captured traitors of the President, who intended to end his life. The Department of Defense hasn’t confirmed where the traitors came from, but have scheduled them for execution on December 15, 2009. The Department of Defense will step up it’s plans to keep these communists at bay.

President agrees to meet Premier Millerand of Belmont.

President Sanford has agreed to meet with Belmont's Premier. Belmont is one of the Confederate States' oldest allies. Our two countries are experiencing problems with rebels and have decided to work together to end these threats to our countries.

December 3, 2009 – Headlines

Congress reports that a new provision will provide tax cuts.

The Congress of the Confederate States stated they will rework the welfare policy of the country. The Congress will exempt certain people from welfare. Firstly, criminals will no longer receive a cent from welfare, even after their punishment is served. Anyone who is suspect of crimes against the state will no longer see a cent from welfare. Homosexuals’ medical coverage will be significantly cut because of their lifestyle’s proneness to disease. Congress said more cuts are to come. Congress estimates an ability to save over C$10.7 Billion. Congress is looking into the possibility of giving a tax return of C$150 to every worker in the country in 2010.

President Sanford plans to address the nation.

Tomorrow night, President Sanford plans to give a speech on the situation of the country. He plans to talk about the country’s standing in the world, trade with foreign lands, the communist rebels, and the nation’s ability to defend itself. The President wants to reassure the nation that everything that can be done is being done in order to maintain the order and safety of the Confederate States.

President assigns Blue Ops the task of counterterrorism.

The Blue Ops was created by President Featherston in order to maintain peace in the Confederate States. For the safety and protection of our people, much of the Blue Ops’ activities have been kept classified. Traitors to the President have said awful things about Blue Ops Operations. Today, President Sanford gave Blue Ops the responsibility of hunting down and eradicating the communist threat within our own borders. Blue Ops leaders are said to be working on the matter now, and have promised the President and the people that the Communists will be defeated.

December 7, 2009 – Headlines

Speaker Jackson Polk gives birth to the “Free Republicans' Party”

Members of Congress, known as the Polk Coalition, have approved a bill to ban the party restriction law. The Polk Coalition then immediately organized into the “Free Republican Party” or FRP. The FRP’s political positions are as followed, as stated by Speaker Polk.

“Our founding fathers established a constitution that employed capitalism and democracy. Those two things have been slowly destroyed over the last seventy-two years. Our political position can be summed up in three words: Capitalism, Democracy, and Freedom. Our recent large job loss was due to this country’s economic policies, it’s time to reconstruct capitalism. If you were not a part of the Freedom Party, you were not allowed to run for office, this is not democracy, and our party intends to solve that. And now, we come to our biggest issue, freedom. A lot of the racial disputes in our country have been solved in other countries. It seems as though we are the only country to continue to have a race war. Race relations have attempted to be solved by Presidents since Featherston. Our party will solve these issues.”

An hour after the party’s announcement, President Sanford remains quiet but others members of the Freedom Party are calling for Congress’ dismissal. President Sanford will make a statement on the matter tomorrow.

Over 3 million people have converted to the FRP, including a little over half of Congress. No president has ever had to deal with a situation like this and it’ll be interesting to see how President Sanford reacts.

December 8, 2009 – Headlines

Secession Crisis

More states plan to follow in the example of South Carolina. State Leaders have agreed to meet in Raleigh, North Carolina to discuss their plan of action. Opinions are divided among the crisis, many support the ways of South Carolina, and others call it Civil War.

Speaker Jackson Polk and all of the Congressmen that declared themselves FRP Members resigned from their positions and immediately headed for Raleigh, North Carolina. President Sanford is struggling to keep the country together, saying that State Governors have no need to have a meeting and that he will resolve the secession crisis himself.

Most State Governors feel that it is the States that will solve the situation and are worried about the country’s image on the world. Words by Governor DeLong:

“Should we stay in this state, it may be too difficult to restore confidence in our government. That is why it is imperative that the situation be solved immediately.”

So far, President Sanford has not said he will use military force to make South Carolina comply.

I have took my cabinet in confidence and we have agreed to provide the Confederate States with all it needs to contain the miscreants. The National Defense Industries, have been ordered to give any orders placed by the CS Ministry of Defense the highest of priorities and process the order as fast as possible. I additionally, President Sanford, offer you the use of the ISE's* elite force.

Additionally, I have asked Minister of Defense, Jean-Charles Taugourdeau, to visit Raleigh and inform you of all that we are willing to do. We do not wish to see our historical ties severed due to some reactionaries. President Sanford, the gravity of the situation is indeed worrying. I urge you to take approriate action before your control over the nation is further weakened.

December 10, 2009 – Headlines
President Sanford delivers ultimatum
Today, President Sanford announced that South Carolina has exactly 24 hours to meet with the President to negotiate the readmission of South Carolina to the Confederacy. He said that if South Carolina chooses to not comply, military action will be taken against South Carolina. Many of the Confederacy’s generals are against such a much, claiming they will not lead their men to kill South Carolinians.
The President continued to say that the meeting of State Governors in Raleigh will need to cease in 48 hours. Sanford claimed Polk is now a terrorist of the nation and is attempting to establish anarchy. He continued to say that the States do not have the ability to assume the powers of the National Government at their pleasing.
The President’s declaration was not received well. State Governors warned that ending this meeting could push more states to follow South Carolina. South Carolina itself offered to take in Jackson Polk to “keep him safe.”

The President wishes to thank Belmont for their dedication to the Confederate States. However, as of now, it would be more harmful than beneficial to have a foreign military presence in the country. The sad truth however is in the futile nature inherent FRP coup de edat attempt. The FRP coup attempt will accomplish nothing, the apartheid tyranny in the Confederate States must be eliminated in full. The world and indeed the Confederate States is now in a situation where choices must be made as to proper administration, beyond humanistic concepts such as Liberalism and Capitalism and racist, sexist, and anti-human apartheid government but instead in focusing on what the backbone of any succesful society is, the administration of Justice.

Confederate Council begins writing Constitution​

Today, the Confederate Council officially began the drafting of a new constitution. The Council promised that it will emphasize on freedom, liberty, and justice throughout the nation, for all people. There will be a section that will officially ban the Government from making any law that discriminated against any individual because of sexual orientation, race, nationality, political background, or gender. The Council promised that slavery will also be illegal under this constitution.

The Council promised to have the Constitution done and ratified by January 1, 2010. They also promised to have Jackson Polk inaugurated as President on January 1, 2010. The Council proclaimed that Polk will run for election in 2010, and should he win, he will be inaugurated to a full six year term on March 20, 2011. However, he will not be allowed to run for a second term.

Details on the Constitution have been released. It will mainly be based on the constitution previous to Featherston. The President will no longer have the ability to dismiss Congress or the Supreme Court. The President will be allowed 1 term, no more. There will be 26 Senators, two from each state, and 142 House members. Also, the Blue Ops has been officially banned and declared unconstitutional. Other details are still being worked out, but the Council assures that everything is moving smoothly. ​

Freedom Party not to be prosecuted, however, Guerrilla Warfare continues in Tennessee and Alabama ​

Fighting has intensified in Tennessee and Alabama, as the newly established Confederate Army continues to penetrate into the two states. The Confederate Council has released a statement that the two states will be brought into the new Confederacy and as little collateral damage as possible is to be done. General Horatio Stellers has been placed in command of the task force to Alabama and Tennessee. He claimed that the campaign may be bloody, but with the right equipment and men, it can be won successfully in a short time. General Stellers stated that he never saw soldiers so eager to fight for their country, as they hoisted the new Confederate Flag over their bases. ​

New Flag has been chosen, or should we say, old flag. ​

Today, the Confederate Council re-raised the third national flag above Government Buildings, calling it a symbol that tyranny has ended and a new era has begun. They claim the third national flag is to be considered the national flag of the Confederacy. People were happy to take down the flag of the Fascists and raise the new flag, one they believed stood for liberty and peace.​

His Majesty King William II of Anglia Congratulates the people of the Confederate States in their move forward into modern freedom and democracy. As a token of faith, we would like to extend our hand in friendship, and to increase our diplomatic ties. We would also like to offer the use of several Naval Cargo vessels and supplies to begin reconstructing infrastructure that might have been lost during the recent conflicts.

In the nearby future, we hope to lower trade barriers between the Levant and the Confederate States to promote the reconstruction and stabilization of this august nation.
