Ratomkira prepares for 'Slavic influenza'
New virus outbreak in Miedzymorzen city might threaten the world

Siem Khun -- Ratomkiran leaders under the King are gathering for a preparation session on how to handle a potential influenza outbreak later this year. The H3N2 virus or Slavic influenza, as it has been labelled by several other media outlets, is an epidemic still in its early stages even though reports of over 70 dead and many more inflected in the Miedzymorzen city of Mislik are discouraging to say at least. Mislik is where the growing virus was first discovered and is believed to be the birthplace of the illness. Long from everything about this new disease is known, but scientists around the world, including those of Ratomkira are discovering more every day.

The Department of Health says that the sickness is not yet present in Ratomkira, but the nation should prepare nevertheless. That is why our King, Pheakdei Srieng III, called a meeting with both governmental figures as influential members of the pharmaceutical industry. His Leadership has clearly stated that there is no reason for panic and that our country will be as prepared as possible.

Military under siege, 194 soldiers dead!
Government will increase military spending and presence in Northern Provinces

Serui -- Today is a day which will be forever remembered in the hearts and minds of every single Ratomkiran, be it right-winged or left-winged. Near the town of Serui in the Northern province of Koh Svoy no less than 194 Ratomkiran forces where slaughtered today when their helicopters where shot down by the communist Vangala-backed Kangtoap Krawham Padevat (KKP). It is still unclear how many casualties the KKP has suffered, but their operation is no doubt been seen as a success in the eyes of communists. There was first some confusion of who conducted the attack as a smaller communist group also claimed the atrocity. The military has however confirmed that it was indeed the KKP that robbed Ratomkira of 194 husbands, wife's, sons, daughters and brave troops. This is the greatest loss of military life in one attack since the 1989 Tankea Barracks Attack, which costed the lives of over 500 of the King's soldiers.

Our King has already stated that it is his intention too increase the amount of troops in the North, especially near the border with Vangala, with no less then 60,000 soldiers. The Great King also promised too increase military spending by 10%, an enourmous number. His Leadership said that he is disgusted by this "cowardly, demonic" act and will find and punish the guilty ones. This will however be hard too do as the North has become increasingly dangerous with not only communist but also nationalist Lanxangese groups threatening peace and stability.

We don't know the exact details of the attack as there where no survivors and the attack was apparently so quick that no communique was send from the soldiers. We do however know that the military will not easily forget this and is already preparing a devastating series of attacks aimed at KKP strongholds. As things get more violent every day we can only hope for peace.

Vangala finds the loss of any human life regrettable, yet Ratomkira's increasingly intolerant policies towards the Lanxangese minority, the suppression of criticism and crippling rural poverty make the insurgency campaign undertaken by the KKP and others understandable.

We can wholeheartedly agree that staunch military discipline an influence in mainstream society can and will combat the communist threat, which puts nations like Ratomkira at risk of infection. We as a realm which holds a free market, free people, and independent military cannot begin to judge Ratomkira's actions regarding these controversial subjects.

It should no doubt be a national imperative that these KKP goons are driven out with immediate tact. Our Armed Forces are considered subject matter experts when it comes to Anti-Communist/Terrorist defense, so we must of course offer advisory before this Communist infection turns in to an all out Red Flag flying over your capital.

The Greater Viet Empire and His Imperial Majesty, Son of Heaven, send their deepest condolances to the brave soldiers who strove to protect their nation from the threat of international terrorism. Their services to a fellow member of the LFS will not be forgotten. Dai Viet will make sure to forward any information gathered on the KKP in order to ensure their swift demise.

We assure the people and most of all the esteemed government of Životinje that we are in full control of the situation in the Northern provinces. An attack of this magnitude is thankfully a rare sight in our nation and we are doing everything within our power too prevent such an atrocity from ever occurring again. While we could no doubt grow wiser from Životinjen advisor's, we feel that it is our task as a truly independent nation to solve the insurgency ourselves.

The Ratomkiran nation also wholeheartedly sends its thanks to the government and honoured monarch of Dai Viet for their support after this tragic losses.

It however came as no surprise that a nation as disgusting and corrupt as Vangala wouldn't even deny having a hand in the massacre of last week. Rest assure we will show the world the true nature of Vangala and we will not stop until every single Vangalan can enjoy a life of freedom such as in Oikawa, Serbovia, Dai Viet or Ratomkira.

Sincerely Yours,
Minister of External Affairs Phirun Sothy

Government calls for boycott on summit against organized crime
"The fact alone that Vangala is represented makes the entire conference a farce", says Prime Minister

Siem Khun -- Yesterday our government and the King called on all democratic leaders, especially those of the League of Free States to boycott or to walk out on the conference against organized crime which is currently taking place in Marquette. The sole reason for this boycott is the fact that Vangala, a nation known for supporting terrorism and large scale smuggling, is represented. In fact the person representing Vangala is no less then Utpal Sarkar, a man known for his part in the Vangalan government-organized smuggling business among other things.

"I think the fact that such a brutal thug, like Utpal Sarkar, is allowed too speak in a conference against organized crime is a scandal. This man and his nation's regime has again and again been found guilty of all kinds of illegal activities and yet now they are allowed to polish up their image by taking part in this summit. The truth is that Vangala is itself a Mafia state and thus should not even be invited to such a conference. As long as Vangala is represented the conference will be nothing more then a farce, a real low point in international affairs." Prime Minister Khun Kein said yesterday.

"We very much understand the need of an international summit against the plague that is organised crime. However if the European leaders are consequent they will see that a nation like Vangala doesn't belong there."
he added.

Vangala recently once again stirred concerns by making statements in support of movements like the Kangtoap Krawham Padevat. Only yesterday the representative of Vangala called the tragic attack of last week, which cost the lives of 196 soldiers, an 'understandable' act. It was no surprise that the anti-communist manifestation, which was announced moments after last weeks attack, today brought over ten thousand people on the streets. Many slogans where directed against the Vangalan communist regime and some even went as far as demanding war against Vangala. The manifestation didn't cause any incidents despite fear that communists might attack the peaceful demonstrators.

Private note to the Ratomkiran government

The Serbovian government understands and appreciates Ratomkira's concerns in relation to this affair and the Vangalan government's involvement in various unscrupulous activities. However, His Excellency the Supreme Leader wishes to point out that the agenda of obstructing state support to terrorism and subversion can potentially be forwarded in the conference, and that the Serbovian government will not participate in any arrangements unbeneficial to any of Serbovia's LFS allies.

Vangala is deeply offended by this slanderous propaganda, which degrades the sacrifice many men and women have made in the ongoing fight against gangsterism. The only criminal governments in the region are those in Ratomkira, Dai Viet and Oikawa, who are responsible for the murders and oppression of thousands.

The Serbovian government will join its Viettine allies in denouncing the antagonizing rhetoric used by Vangalan diplomats, and will point out that such rhetoric will serve particularly little purpose in relation to the Vangalan position in the mentioned conference against organized crime.

First Slavic Flu victim in Ratomkira
H3N2 virus reaches Ratomkira despite preventive measures

Campaey -- A 9-year-old boy, named Khun Sien, died from the Slavic influenza (H3N2) virus Monday, becoming the first swine flu casualty in Ratomkira, a health official said. The poor victim, a Kambudjan native living in Campaey city, was staying in the hospital of Hamak Banif approximately 6 km from the centre of the highly populated city.

Khun Sien was brought to the Kamak Banif clinic on Friday in a very serious condition. The entire weekend Khun resided in the special care section of the hospital. He quickly tested positive on the virus. Durng his last days Khun's most prominent problem was breathing.

Following the swine flu case, the management Sunday announced the closure of the school where Khun was being educated till an unsaid time later this month. Matshuku Corporation Health officials have already visited the school on Sunday to examine students and staff members who were in close contact with the victim.

So far, about 100 suspected cases of swine flu have been reported in hospitals all over the country, out of which 30 have tested positive.

Lanxangese nationalists attack Oikawan settlement
Lanxangese terrorists attack the Northern town of Takeo, killing 7 Oikawans and 3 soldiers

Takeo -- Today was once again a day of violence in the Northren provinces as the nation faces yet another atrocity. Seven Oikawans and 3 Ratomkiran soldiers died with at least another 4 injured, after Lanxangese militants fired mortars at an Oikawan settlement in the Pnraom province. The Lanxangese nationalist group 'Front for the Liberation of Greater Lanxang' (FLGL) has already claimed responsibility for the brutal attack.

The events occurred between 8 pm and 9 pm, a time when the streets of Takeo are busiest. The mortars fired randomly into the large town, destroying or damaging over 34 houses and hitting a military checkpoint. Most Oikawan civilians died when the first round hit the town square. The army and the private Oikawan security forces reacted fast killing 3 of the terrorists while hunting down the remaining attackers.

The terrorist attack came hours after the Royal Intelligence Bureau managed to arrest senior FLGL activist, Phrom Suitin, in Siem Khun. The FLGL has stated that this was a retaliation for that arrest. Governmental sources have however said that they believe this attack was being planned weeks ago, since the FLGL is thought to be merely a small splinter group of the outlawed 'Lanxang Independence Party' and has only limited resources.

Many fear that Oikawans will more often become the victim of separatist nationalists, both Lanxangese and Kambudjan. They claim that the Law of Brotherhood, which assures a quality life for Oikawans in Ratomkira, promotes inequality and racial segregation. It is however known that these settlements, mostly founded by former Oikawans soldiers stationed in the country, are most beneficial to our economy, culture and our relationship with our Oikawan friends.

The Oikawan government was the first to be informed about this terrible act of violence and was assured that those responsible will be captured and turned over to the Oikawan authorities. His Leadership King Pheakdei Srieng III himself stated that he was "shocked and disgusted" by this attack.

Communist rioters sentenced to death
Twenty protesters and suspected members of the KKP given the death penalty after last weeks riots

Siem Khun -- The high court in Siem Khun has earlier today sentenced a further twenty people to death after last weeks riots that brought our capital on the brink of chaos. The damage of the illegal communist "manifestation", which quickly became a city wide riot lasting no less then 3 days, could only now be fully calculated. A total of 18 people were killed and the infrastructural damage ranges in the millions after the riots now hailed as a popular uprising by the communist KKP. Among the dead are three police officers, five members of the Royalist Front, one civilian and ten communists

The twenty were part of a group of 98 people who went on trial today, charged with crimes including murder, robbery, looting, theft, alignment towards illegal groups and arson. Most members of this group received sentences ranging from 35 years to life in prison, with only 2 found innocent. The remaining 240 arrestees will stand before a judge throughout the next few weeks.

The KKP has already condemned the trials as a sham, saying they have lacked transparency and justice. They warn that once these death penalties are executed they will begin a "series of attacks even more devastating then anything the false King himself has seen". The Royalist Front has already held a small demonstration in front of the royal palace in support of the police and the King's government. The government has also stated that it will bring the KKP and Langxangese nationalists to their knees in a new offensive that will take place in the three Northern provinces.

Resignations after corruption scandal
Three senior governmental officials forcefully resign after prove of corruption and ties with organised crime

Siem Khun -- Three senior governmental officials have resigned today after the high court found them guilty of corruption and organised crime. The identity of these men are still being withheld by the King's government although it is known that two of them where part of the Royal Office of Defence and War while the last one was a member of the Royal Office of Internal Affairs. It is also known that two of them were linked to an alleged plot to weaken the anti-corruption agency. Members and sympathizers of the Royalist Front and the Royalist Party have already rallied in support of the country's anti-corruption agency, ACB, by holding a manifestation in the capital, Siem Khun. The New Liberal Party has also expressed its support for the Anti-Corruption Bureau.

The case is being seen as a test of His Leadership the King Pheakdei Srieng III promise to clamp down on corruption. The King's personal staff has already told the Daily Truth that more resignations or suspensions are possible. They however also clearly stated that corruption has only affected a small amount of "weak men" within the government and that the country's true problem is still the communist KKP, which today once again attacked a military convoy in the Northern Province of Pnraom killing 2 soldiers and injuring 4 others.

The forced resignation of corrupt government officials in Ratomkira is only a token move and not enough to bring an end to well-entrenched and deep-rooted culture of corruption within the Ratomkiran regime. It also reveals the hypocrisy and baselessness in the accusations of sleaze in the People's Republic of Vangala by Ratomkiran diplomats.

We also reject the allegations of religious persecution by Ratomkiran media, who are not in possession of all the facts surrounding recent arrests made by the Vangalan National Police, who were launching an operation aimed at dismantling potentially threatening groups.
