Culture Section Page 1; Renown Comic Producer 'Havok!' announces 'Comics Heritage Day'.Thursday, March 17th 2011 - English Edition; 1 WD, Seventy and five cents
Lumina, Mainland Province, Kingdom of Warre- World-Renown Comics & Graphic Novel producer 'Havok!', has announced a nationwide 'Comics Heritage Day', where they will be giving out free reprint edition comics of Golden Age [Or Great War Era] comics, as well as select reprints of Silver Age and the Ancient 'Pulp Age' comics which were perpetuated by the Gaelige League under the General Gaelige News brand.
Throughout the nation, in grocery stores, book stores, comic book and Collectible stores, and in news Kiosks, Free Reprints will be given including Connor the Hyborean [a Swords and Sorcery Tale originally printed with Runic 'Old Warreic' text inscribed in pages and which included mail-in decoder rings for children to learn the ancient symbols with.
Others included will be Great War era 'The Wardens' characters such as Manaan Mac Lir, CuAodha, Ban Cull the Claymore [The First non-Warreic Superhero Featured in Havok!], Odin, and The Eireann Avenger- and on this day in other countries, reprints of comics produced by Havok! divisions in other nations will receive reprints as well, with Odin and the White Unicorn released in Suionia and Arendaal [The two characters were represented ambiguously in the comics prior to the end of the great war, as the status of the characters were not revealed at the time, though the White Unicorn was aimed to be a cultural hero to make the Aren people stand up for themselves stronger in the war], The Eireann Avenger, Ban Cull the Claymore and the entire Gaelige collection receiving similar releases in Eireann and Bantyr, and Breotish Bull and The Wyvern's adventures in occupied Engellex are slated to be released within Breotonia, Anglyn, and Engellex. Talks are in play of bringing the Iron Age Batavian Hero 'Christian' into a limited Comics Heritage Day! release within Batavie are on the table, thanks to Havok!'s concern that Batavie might censor it's works otherwise, with the heavy anti-Batavian influences in the other comics.
While some cynics fear this is solely because the Havok! comics industry isn't selling internationally as good as it had before, Havok! executives have spoken of their intent to reintroduce the fundamental pillar Comics and Graphic Novels held within the Great War era media of Warre, and within the Gaelige Go Bragh movement, which both tried to re-introduce [somewhat successfully] Runic Script to commonplace use within Warre, but also the perpetuation of Gaelige within Eireann and Warre during the Great War, and the occupation of the former by the Batavian-Vistrasian Union.
Comics role in codetalking during the War is also explicitly mentioned in the reasons for this historical reminder by Havok!
