Police arrest suspected Belmontien agents

Party leaders today highlighted the need for constant vigilance against capitalist saboteurs and imperialist infiltrators following the breaking-up of a Belmontien spy ring in a counter-espionage operation involving the National Police Service and Rapid Strike Battalion together with elements of the intelligence community and Revolutionary Armed Forces. Spokespersons from the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of External Affairs and Ministry of National Defence all confirmed reports of Belmontien intelligence officers, operating under the guise of tourists, had been detained and transferred to a secret, secure location following a raid on a popular hotel. The Belmontien agents caught are all believed to have links to religious extremists and counter-revolutionaries.

Those involved were keen to stress that the recent arrests were not acts of revenge motivated by Belmont's recent decision to openly support terrorist groups in Vangala and other revolutionary states, but rather the result of extensive information gathering and Belmont's threats only gave greater impetus for decisive action. Spokespersons for the ministries declined to give further information concerning the operation in case future counter-espionage efforts are compromised.

External Affairs Minister Ajoy Qamaruzzaman has informed Paris about the arrest of their agents and is currently awaiting a response. If the Belmontien agents are successfully tried on the charges of espionage, they face execution. The Ministry of Justice has said it will take any moves by the Belmontien government into account, although asserted it will not shy away from punishing enemies of the people.​

We don't know who these people are but we know for sure that those arrested are not Belmontien. We see this news article as an attempt by the People's Republic of Vangala to slander the image of the Kingdom of Belmont. Furthermore, the timing of the arrest of the so called "Belmontien spies" comes after we have announced our foreign policy change. We find it hard to believe that this isn't Vangala's vindictive side showing.

Vangala has acted in the interests of national security and self-defence and the arrest of the Belmontien agents was based on concrete evidence and accurate intelligence, not a desire for revenge. Vangala reacts to Ratomkiran aggression

The reactionary clique seated in Siem Khun has pushed the region to the brink of war once again by deploying thousands of soldiers along our shared border while also accusing Vangala of supporting terrorists and gangsters. Ratomkira's deliberate provocations follow a victory by Communist freedom fighters over the Royal Ratomkiran Army in Ratomkira's western region, which Ratomkiran Prime Minister Khun Kein blamed on Vangala.

Vangala has acted swiftly: the People's National Defence Commission uanimously agreed to raise military threat levels and begin defensive drills, while External Affairs Minister Ajoy Qamaruzzaman urged that a planned International Revolutionary Bloc meeting in Batavia over the growing threat of neo-Imperialism and Fascism in the East be held at the earliest convenience. Utpal Sarkar, viciously described as a 'thug' by Ratomkiran propaganda, will also continue to represent the People's Republic at the European Conference on Organised Crime, despite calls by Ratomkira for him to be removed.

President Moheen Chatterjee further spoke on the increasing tensions after the meeting of the People's National Defence Commission, denying Vangala is funding the Revolutionary Red Army and other Ratomkiran rebel groups and blamed the insurgency on a lack of democracy and popular participation in Ratomkira's political system. The President also demanded an end to the persecution of ethnic Lanxangese in Ratomkira.

The Communist Party, reaffirming its commitment to the defeat of gangsterism and corruption, is expected to expand funding for the National Police, Rapid Strike Battalion and Drugs Elimination Force and new powers for the Anti-Corruption Commission in the next conference. In contrast, countless reports from the Ministry of Justice show clear links between senior Ratomkiran officials and the gangs that traffick narcotics, weapons and people into Vangala and beyond.

We will say to friend and foe that the nation of Ratomkira will not be intimidated by the terrorist state that is Vangala and its IRB allies. However, being members of civilised alliances, it would be best for communication to increase rather than decrease to ensure that misunderstandings do not result in greater catastrophes. Simply talking can prevent unnecessary casualties and destruction.

Communism, a hateful, subversive, violent ideology, must be contained at all costs, lest it spread to the free nations of the world and bring economic and social ruin to its peoples. State-sponsored terrorism, too, must be dissolved, as should all destabilizing forces within a nation.

Considering the corrupt communist dictatorship of Vangala practices both, it is not surprising to the Axifloan Confederation that Ratomkira moves to defend itself and its people. We do not wish for a foreign war, and we will not in any fashion take a direct or indirect role in it should it come to pass. But neither will we refrain from speaking truth when we say that Ratomkira must take all steps necessary to ensure peace within its borders.
