Oświęcim is indeed Auschwitz, but it is NOT the concentration camp. The Auschwitz we all know of was located outside the town, and was named because of it's proximity to the town. As we have no Holocaust analogue in our history, I don't think OOC stigma should prevent the use of such a name, especially as a major city which could redeem the qualities of the otherwise infamous town.

I am very well aware of what the name means, and have been since Uusimaa jokingly suggested it as a capital name about 3 years ago for another nation incarnation: The Three Nations Commonwealth (and I went with it, then stuck with it after I learned the translation). Aside from you, no other member, especially Xen, have raised concerns, so I have not reconsidered its usage, despite being half-Polish in ancestry and, as many of you are wearily aware, a minor Polish nationalist. Should I be told by Xen to take it down and use another name, or in fact any member with legitimate offense at the use the name, I will do so with no complaints.

I am attempting to leave the past of real life behind, and replace it with something interesting and fun, something people are willing to interact with. Obviously, I don't want people to forget the unspeakable horrors that took place in the concentration camp near that town, but neither do I want them to try and ignore it, lest they never come to terms with what happened there.

As said, if you take legitimate offense at my usage, I will replace the name with something else, but until then, I thank you for the concerns you raise partially on my behalf, and will continue to use it.

This is more of a place-holder since I don't know what the continent will look like after the revamp.

I have been informed that Boliatur may also be looking at this region so he and I will have to discuss locations, which won't really be possible until we know what the area will look like.

I'd like the following city amendments:

1. Moving Einsiedeln a bit more to the east, where the new red dot is located. This would correspond to the placing on the detailed national map. NOT CRITICAL. So don't bother if you feel it will clutter too much.

2. Adding the city of Elbebruck to the border between Wendmark and Wiese. This modification I insist upon. The city is is trans-national, spans both countries and hosts the HQ of the Germanian League. So rather important. I think Wiese won't mind if you span the name over his country a bit.

I believe those are still the policy. You and I are victims of the Toyou revamp. We can't be added until they do that. Stuck in limbo. It sucks.
