To be very honest, I have to agree with Danmark in this. This is a modern world, so modern maps need to be made. Therefore, I cast my vote to Option 4.

However, I want to commend you for the work on those other three maps, because they do look very good.

I voted for option 1 but I am beginning to be rather swayed by the argument that a modern forum needs a modern map. I think my decision making was clouded by the excellent job done on the other maps.

I'd argue as far as "modern" maps go, we cannot go any further than what is currently available without adding geographical features. We all know that is a pipe dream because we all like to make up our own geographical features, although I wouldn't mind if the moderation team just mod hammered in geographical features at random and told people to live with it (Mountains, rivers, deserts, forests, etc —national geographic atlas that shit).

I would. Didn't spend all that time on the Great Germanian Mapping Project ( ) drawing, prodding people to provide details, implementing details to then see some mods unconnected to my country just come in and force me to redo all the work. Better just sod it and leave. If I want geography and fixed stuff, I'll play Paradox games.

Alternatively, this would be pretty sick too.

Present style is what I like so far. Although the old timey maps do look kinda cool. How long did that take you to do?

Whats the activity status on Kranj, Ahiret, Watustan Matanzas, the Byzantine Empire and now, I think, Batavie? The last one I know is historical but the player has indicated a desire to do something new, so should Batavie be whiteplotted along with the others i've listed? If not, why not?

Yeah, there are quite a few perishable activity hot spots smelling expired with the disappearance of the mapmaker. Khali looks like he's been on leave since posting the OldStyle map proposition.

Not sure about the others, but Watustan is only a recent arrival so he may still have some more input yet.

Can Spot O5 be called Danske Implarien.

Brief background history

In the late eighteenth century, Danmark had engaged in extensive trade with the East with a subsequent growth of trans-oceanic merchant shipping. The distances involved led to the Danish government forming the Danish Implaria Company charged with seeking out territory suitable as a mid-transit rest point and to function as a 'warehousing' facility as well as acting as a hub for distribution of goods to other Implarian countries. The Company settled on the Falafuti archipelago which was colonised in 1796, becoming the Governorate of Danish Implaria and was Danmark's only true colony.

Danish settlement was swift led initially by a vanguard of traders and their families though general settlement was encouraged over much of the 19th century. From 1796 when the Danish population numbered around 2,500 compared to an indigenous population of 17,000, the Danish population outnumbered the local populace by 1829 and continued to grow.

Locals, initially welcoming the Danes, became restive at the population explosion of non-natives and threats to their native way of life. A series of small-scale rebellions took place which targeted Danish settlements leading to the Namaluku Insurrection in 1841 when various indigenous tribal groups coalesced under the leadership of the Falafuti chief Al'epa in attempt to throw out the Danish colonists. Initially the Danish were unprepared and several of the smaller islands of the island archipelago were lost with Danish losses being higher than expected and with Danes retreating to the main island of Ny Frederikshavn. The Danish government despatched a naval and army force of 20,000 which from 1843-1845 gradually quelled the Insurrection and martial law was imposed on the colony. The rebel leaders were then eventually either killed, put on trial and imprisoned, or exiled from the islands. Martial law was lifted in 1852.

Following the Insurrection, Danish Implaria became an increasingly important military base as well as retaining a prime position in Danish Implaria-East trade and relations between Danes and ethnic Falafutians improved. In 1919, Danish Implaria achieved full cantonal government (in line with the rest of Danmark) with full equality and integration into the rest of Danmark and the Governorate was abolished following the report of the Danish Implaria Commission. A cantonal constiution was introduced which gave ethnic Falafutians greater rights and representation though government and important positions continued to be largely in the hands of Danes. Local government continues to be in control of a local cantonal legislature with only defence and foreign affairs outside its remit. A university was established in 1881 (until then, Danes continued to go to Danmark for higher education) to which the first Falafutian entered in 1910. Danish Implaria operates Danish Law in common with the rest of Danmark though dispensation is given to indigenous 'reserves' where traditional law is maintained in areas of intra-tribal affairs.

Over most of the 20th century and into the 21st, prosperity has increased significantly as Danish Implaria functions as an important hub and the standard of living has increased becoming much wealthier than the far older overseas territory of Færøerne. The government of Danmark, responsible for Danish Implaria's defence and foreign affairs, retains good relations with most of the nations of Implaria. The local legislature and local population have been lobbying for enhanced political and economic control.

Currently, Danish Implaria is headed by its first indigenous Falafuti First Minister, Georg Luk'ai who is known for his keen advocacy of the traditions of Danish freedom and rule of law together with indigenous values.

I recruited Watustan, and she switched to Hexxania, and then stopped playing that aswell, so I believe I can say Watustan won't be active again. I'm open to correction on the other points, of course.

As noted by Havenshire, as the payer of Batavië I have no qualms with that country being greened. I have no intention of returning to it, despite the fun I had with it. Because it is historically significant for the region I am aware some would rather have it kept on, but I find this an unfair use of space. It should be greened unless it really has to be there. Or it could be severely reduced in size for historical purposes? I really don't care. Up to the bosses.

Please rename my old spot of Sørlandeten as Belmont and the capital city is Villesen, which is basically just a centimeter west of the capital city already marked on the spot. Thank you.
