CoN Fiddles As Batavie Burns

Nuremburg - As the people of Batavie sit and wait for help to arrive, the cavalry, in the form of the Council of Nation, is haggling over what horse to ride in on. Though there has been no less than four resolutions submitted in the Security Council, with all being similar except for who had submitted it, no decision has been made.

While debate had stalled in the Security Council, over in the chambers of the General Assembly, a question on whether the GA had the authority to strip the matter from the clutches of the SC was debated hot and heavy, mostly between the author of the a resolution that would essentially place the Batavie matter in the hands of the General Assembly, Dr. Edvard Feldbaek, Ambassador from Ausurland and Guiana's ambassador and elected member of the Security Council, Dr. Joshua Millhouse who argued that the CoN Charter forbade such an action. In the end, the status quo was maintained and Dr. Feldbaek withdrew his resolution.

Though it is unclear who was victorious in this round in the political arena that is the Council of Nations, it is clear that it was definately not the people of Batavie.

Security Council At Impasse Over Batavie

Nuremburg - It looks like there will be little seen from the Security Council as each of the two members possessing veto power have become determined to see it that the other has no role to play in Batavie while protecting their own place in the future of that country. So, it looks as if there will be no action from the Security Council until the Oikawan Empire or the Laventine States, or both, agree to work with the other or both step aside entirely.

Killing Field Discovered In Eastern Khalistan

Lahore - The Interior Ministry has sent investigators from Lahore as well as forensic anthropologists from the University of Dehali, to a site where what appears to be the remains of a least forty individuals near the Sinhai border has been discovered. The discovery was made after a horse trooper of the 3rd Bengal Lancers came across a skull that had been washed down from the heavily wooded hills by a rain storm and, after an extensive search of the area, revealed more bodies in a clearing. Though the area has been sealed off by the military, it is not yet determined how long the bodies had been there nor has there been any news on the manner of how they died.

Diamond Smuggling Ring Busted In Kolte

A smuggling ring that is believed to have been in operation for more than a year and has smuggled an estimated रू16 million (€4 million) worth of diamonds out of Khalistan has been closed down with the raid of a Kolte dockside warehouse and the arrest of the suspected ringleader Jagesh Behari and six others. Siezed in the raid was about रू200,000 (€50,000) in uncut diamonds and documents that may reveal overseas contacts as well as accomplices.

Simutanious raids at several diamond mines, including the Kollur Mine, is believed to be related.

Method Of Death Of Killing Field Victims Discovered

Lahore - The report from the team of forensic anthropologists at the University of Dehali, that investigated the Killing Field site, found that all the victims (the remains of 43 bodies were discovered) had died between two to three weeks prior to discovery. Though the condition of the bodies make the the cause of death difficult to assertain, evidence shows that the most probable cause of death was from strangulation, and by the positioning of the bodies in a shallow mass grave, they were likely killed at roughly the same time.

The identities of the victims have yet to be determined.

Historical Ties ?

Though criminal investigators have not announced if there are any suspects, much speculation has been circulating, especially by Dr. Vishal Ghazali, a historian at the University of Kolkata, as he has hinted that the place, time and number of victims have a historical significance. Dr. Ghazali says that it was on June 20, 1910, that "the last known practicing members of the Thuggee cult, along with their leader, or jemadar, Chattar Lal, were killed by the Maharajah's troops as they were trying to escape into Taishan". "All forty-three were killed and their bodies brought back and hung on display in Chandrapur".

Though the Dr. Ghazali's arguement is compelling, the commander of the Vidarbha State Police, Col. Ehimay Chandan says that "though Dr. Ghazali's speculation catches the imagination, it is not helpful in our investigation as it only stirs up old stories and could cause public hysteria as people may start reporting seeing thuggies under their bed."

We wish to remind our brothers in Khalistan that Vangala has only acted defensively and Sinhai is the true aggressor. We also welcome recent developments in our bilateral relationship and hope for fruitful talks between Minister Qamaruzzaman and Minister Multani.

Could Murders In Rashpur Have 'Killing Field' Connection?

Rashpur - A string of strangulation murders in the city, eight in the past month counting the one that was found on the 19th in the Riverdocks District, has some theorizing that the murderer(s) may have connection to the 43 bodies found east of Chandrapur, those too had all been strangled, with a few whispering that it could all be the work of the Thuggees, even though the police have their doubts that there is a connection and deny any Thuggee involvement. "While the idea may well sell newspapers," remarkes Chief Inspector Rajput Singh, who is heading the investigation," there is no evidence of a resurgance of the Thuggees and to print such a thing will only cause additional hysteria." When asked about the fact that forensics indicate that three of the victims had been strangled at roughly the same time in different parts of the city, the Cheif Inspector angrily responded, "I don't know where you got your information, but even if evidence did point to more than one perpetrator, it would still not mean that the Thuggees had anything to do with it!!!!"

'Rashpur Strangler' Claims Ninth Victim
Victims Do Share Common Background

Rashpur - A possible ninth victim of what is being called the 'Rashpur Strangler' has been discovered in an ally of the city's upscale shopping district of Chandler. Though the name of the victim is being withheld until next of kin is contacted, the means of death is identical to those of eight other strangulation victims discovered since March 16th. Though police have not revealed any of the intricate details of this or any of the other murders, independant investigation has shown that the first eight victims had all been native Khalistanis that worked for foreign residents or companies in Rashpur. Though so far the victims have worked as domestics, clerks and laborers, the latest victim, according to a witness, was dressed in business attire.

Though it is understood that a permanent government will be created under a new constitution, the Maharajah's government will, until such government is created, deal with the CCO and its elected and appointed officials.

Qamaruzzaman Opens Old Wounds
Lahore - It cannot be said that there has been perfect harmony between Khalistan and Anglyn, but the two countries have enjoyed friendly and profitable relations for the past century as trade and other exchanges have benefited both counties in many ways and will likely continue to do so. Though in a century and a half of building of good relations between the Khalsa Raj and the Anglysh Kingdom is not likely to be destroyed overnight, the words of Vangalan External Affairs Minister Ajoy Qamaruzzaman may have opened an old wound that may not have healed as much as most people thought.

Bombaim has always been a reminder of both the good and bad of pre Khalsa Raj Khalistan, when the country was divided amongst western colonial powers and the Eastern Mogul Empire, but as Bombaim was the Gateway to Khalistan and gave the Anglysh access to Khalistan, it also acted as Khalistan's Doorway to the West, as through it, the Khalsa Raj had a access to the west that few in the east enjoyed.

Bombaim, be it a shining symbol of the close ties between East and West, or, as Minister Qamaruzzaman described it, "a relic from the colonial era", it is now going to be the topic of discussion from the great halls of government in Lahore, Winchester and even Kilkila, to even the streets of Bombaim itself.

VESPER, FRIDAY, 20th MAY 2011

_____________________________________________

Bemjamin Stokes, Chief Colonial Officer for Foreign Affairs, has been instructed to encode the following dispatch from
Felix Ilchester, the Chancellor of the Commonwealth of Cantigny

To the Imperial Subjects of Bombain

Without committing to an absolute policy regarding the Colony of Bombain, Cantigny keenly recognizes the need to reassess the necessity or legality of Bombain in the year twenty-eleven. We call upon Anglyn and Khalistan to establish a modern commission, consisting of multiple viewpoints, to make a fair and safe decision.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The People's Republic is opposed to the measures being proposed by some. For the duration of the original agreement between the Governments of Anglyn & Khalistan in 1850, there should be question of deviating from that agreement for the dangerous precedent it could set. Upon the expiry of said agreement, it will be up to the Governments of Anglyn & Khalistan to decide what is the best course of action. Foreign intervention into this matter is, in our opinion, a breach of the sovereignty of Anglyn and Khalistan.

By the Bombaim Treaty of 1850, Anglyn cannot grant Bombaim independence without the consent of Khalistan nor transfer it to the sovereignty of another realm unless that realm is that of the Khalsa Raj. In otherword, it can be returned to Khalistan, but in the the case of Coronados demands, cannot be made an independent and sovereign state without the approval of the Khalsa Raj.
