AUTHORITIES ASK FOR PATIENCE
Aurarian Authorities Scramble to Restore Normalcy to Air Traffic in Response to the Engellexic Airspace's Closure

Congestion at Solis Airport amid rampant delays and cancellations
[/div]
[SOLIS] - The National Administration for the Coordination of Air Traffic (Administración Nacional de Coordinación de Tránsito Aéreo, ANCTA) declared an emergency situation today as the Engellexic Republic unexpectedly announced a closure of its airspace to all civilian aircraft, regardless of origin. While the Engellexic released travel advisories for its citizens currently residing abroad, air traffic administrators were not given prior notice.

As a result, the normal flow of air traffic was significantly disturbed as the international hub of Hammersmith closed with no notice, forcing a diversion of a significant number of international flights to the Two Kingdoms, Serenierre, and Auraria. In Auraria’s case, the vast majority of the flights were diverted to Rafael Gutierrez de Robles (RGR) International Airport in Solis and Tauritania (TAU) International Airport.

The overflow caused cancellations and delays as both airports suspended a number of rules to allow flights to land while the ANCTA developed plans to address the situation. ANCTA has reached out to counterparts in countries across Gallia to coordinate a response and ensure that air travel returns to normalcy at as early a pace as possible.

Johan Duran-Aznariz, the President of RGR Airport’s Board of Directors, held a press conference this afternoon to address some of the immediate questions relating to the crisis.

“The decision of the Engellexic Republic was incredibly irresponsible and has caused significant economic damage across Europe,” Duran-Aznariz stated “We have been working nonstop, round-the-clock to ensure that we can get flights moving again. I have been in contact with both international and Aurarian airlines discussing diverted routes and alternatives.”

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reached out to the Engellexic Republic for clarity on the closure of its airspace and any direction it can provide as to when it could be expected that the airspace will reopen.

In the meantime, the Aurarine Republic has issued directives to alleviate some of the stress by offering temporary reprieve of fees and taxes associated with traveling through Aurarine Airspace. In addition, RGR and TAU are decreasing fees for landing and docking at both airports. Additionally, Aurarian Air has stated it will be working with customers to reschedule flights and offer refunds where necessary.

PERMANENT COUNCIL RELEASES FEDERALISM REPORT
The Council's Report Signifies No Easy Way to Federalism

[div] style="border: 1px;; width: 250px; padding: 5px; float:right" |
You must be registered for see images
Deputy Cañero, President of the Permanent Council, previously taught law at the University of Navales
[/div]
[SOLIS] - Federalization has long been a controversial topic in Auraria, going all the way back the country’s foundation at the unification of Tauritania and Catamarca in 1597. Since unification, Tauritania has enjoyed a varying degree of political autonomy. Often the envy of the other three Regions, the Regional Governments have made – on numerous occasion – cases before the National Government to enhance their own autonomy to the level of Tauritania. The most significant of these movements are the Andaluzi Nationalist and Gallaecian Nationalist Parties, both of which hold seats in the National Court.

In a bid to explore the concept further, Consul Varela tasked the Permanent Council (a multi-party body tasked with, essentially, maintaining the administrative functions of government in the event of parliamentary suspension or disbandment) with developing and exploring a variety of ways in which the country could move toward federalism. Today, the Council submitted its findings to Consul Varela in what can only be described as a less than optimistic outlook.

“The Council has arrived at a conclusion, after extensive constitutional study and consultation with legal exports in the field, that the current framework of the Aurarine Republic cannot create a sustainable, cohesive, and permanent federal system,” said Deputy Joanes Luis Cañero (SDL, Navales), President of the Council.

The most basic method that the report explored was simply granting the other Regions the same competencies as Tauritania, which has often been seen as the ideal process advocated. However, the Council reported a number of weaknesses to that method that they deemed to be “irreconcilable.”

According to the report, there are significant concerns over the ability of the Regional Governments in their current capacities to self-govern in a way that other federations have. While simply granting the same political competencies as Tauritania is easiest, Tauritania has had 422 years of autonomy and has developed the mechanisms necessary to self-govern and has a culture of it. The other three Regions are used to the ever present political domination that emanates from Solis. The Report raised doubts over the abilities of the Regions to effectively govern.

The second, and in the report’s view, the most significant obstacle is that the current constitutional framework offers no guarantees that the competencies granted to the Regions will remain permanently theirs. “Whatever powers are given, can in a future date be taken away,” states the report “and as such, if federalism is dependent upon the political whims of deputies in Solis, then it is neither stable nor true federalism.”

In the end, the report called for the establishment of a much more comprehensive, non-partisan constitutional convention to be made up of experts of political science, Aurarian philosophy, and history to – at the least – develop compelling constitutional amendments or – at the most extreme – draft an entirely new constitution to address the current lacking provisions. The Council emphasized that such a process must be slow, methodical, thorough, and completely devoid of political bias. “Any recommendation they made,” the report stated “must be done so with the highest hopes for the prosperity of the Republic.”

Responses to the report have been mixed. Many dismissed it as Solisian Propaganda to further deny the inherent rights of the people to self-governance. Others saw it as lacking vision and unnecessarily complicating the process. However, most agree that the report simply puts to text what experts already know: federalism is a difficult concept.

“If it was easy to federalize,” says Professor Rodrigo Fernandez de Cortéz at the University of Tauritania “we would have done it. We have talked about it for decades but made no real progress because we aren’t prepared to answer the particularities of it; only praise the idea of diversifying political power.”

The path forward now rests in Consul Varela. He has the ability to call the National Court together to vote on whether or not to convene a constitutional convention. The Consul’s office stated that it is open to such discussions and will give due consideration to the Council’s findings.

AURARIA TO EXPAND NAVAL CAPABILITY
Ministry of Defense Announces Expansions to Naval Base Located at the East Entrance of the Long Sea

[div] style="border: 1px;; width: 300px; padding: 5px; float:right" |

Map of Auraria showing the location of the Espada y Escudo Naval Base
[/div]
[SOLIS] - News waves across the planet focused on a developing situation in the Gate of the Retalian Sea as an unknown submarine rammed into the Serenien Cargo Ship the Hyacinthe, forcing it to sink. Adding to the problems, four pirate vessels were attempting to board the vessel but were thwarted by an Eiffelretalian Naval Ship that began indiscriminately firing on any vessel in the area. However, perhaps most concerning, was a military submarine from Pohjanmaa that was also on the scene.

The sinking reportedly shocked many in the upper levels of the Aurarine Republic as the Republic had no indication that Pohjanmaan military assets were even in the area. The Ministry of Defense did not comment on exactly what the Republic knew and when it knew it, but enough sources confirm that the incident was met with great surprise.

In response to the sinking, the Aurarine Ministry of Defense has announced that it will reorient its naval strategy and begin the immediate expansion of the Espada y Escudo Naval Base located on the Islas Gemelas, imaged on the right, the red triangle indicating the exact position of the base.

The Islas Gemelas, for centuries, have served as a strategically critical zone for both the Republic’s defensive strategy and economic prosperity. Located directly in the heart of the Narrow Andaluzi Straight, serving as the Eastern Entrance to the critical maritime trade routes in the Long Sea, the islands have long been a coveted prize of the Aurarians and have served as a counterbalance to Pelasgian and Eiffellretalian domination of the Western and Southern entrances to the Long Sea. However, in the wake of the sinking of the Hyacinthe, the Aurarians have quickly determined that the current infrastructure of Espada y Escudo Naval Base are woefully inadequate.

“It is unclear exactly where the Pohjanmaan vessels entered the Long Sea,” the Defense Ministry stated “however geography would inform us that they likely entered through the Andaluzi Straight – undetected by the Aurarine Military.”

While exact details of the Republic’s plans for the base remain classified, they did indicate intentions to turn it into an active forward command center for naval operations, equating it to Oviedo and Talovera (the headquarters of the Long Sea and Thaumanic Fleets, respectively). A significant portion of the upgrades will focus on enhancing the base’s monitoring equipment to have a consistent and clear image of what vessels are entering the Long Sea from the Andaluzi Straight at any given moment. Once that is completed, the aim is to expand the infrastructure of the base so that it can house larger fleets for rapid response purposes. No formal time table was given to the completion of the project, but the Ministry stated that most of the improvements should be complete by Hortumes CC (June 2019).

The Ministry stressed that the designation of international waters south of the Islas Gemelas will not be altered nor will international trade be molested in any fashion, however foreign military assets and piracy necessitate that the Republic take a more active stance in monitoring the critical seaway.

We are not unconvinced as to the merits of the decision by the Sanabria government. The situation in the Retalian Sea over the past 24 hours has shaken international confidence in many respects. It is first time that Long Sea pirates have been spotted so far north and the need for stronger naval assets is clear.

However, we are monitoring the situation and shall defer from making further comments at this time.

IS POST-DELEGATIONISM A THREAT?
Looking at the Stateless Ideology in Terms of Loyalty to the Republic, or Who?

[div] style="border: 1px;; width: 300px; padding: 5px; float:right" |

Bartolóme Fernando de Oviedo, often regarded as the father of Post-Delegationism in Auraria
[/div]
[SOLIS] – Since the inception of the Republic, non-traditional political ideologies have always had their moments in the Aurarian political sphere. However, none have had a greater impact and praise than Post-Delegationism. The Far Eastern Ideology, developed in the 20th century, has completely encapsulated the Touzensphere and found its way across a number of countries throughout Europe. In Scania, the Commonwealth of Pohjanmaa adopted the ideology after a short-lived communist regime controlled the country.

While Post-Delegationism is a lot of different things to a lot of different people; the general interpretation is that it is the expression of ultimate individual freedom. In Auraria, it is often expressed as the idea that peoples should not (for lack of better terms) delegate sovereignty to a group but rather possess it within themselves as a sovereign right.

Post-Delegationism became popular in Auraria shortly after CXLI | 1960, when it was instituted in Pohjanmaa. Auraria’s fascination with Touzenese culture certainly helped to cultivate its growth. The main proponent of Post-Delegationism was Bartolóme Fernando de Oviedo, a preacher who abandoned the Tiburan Catholic Church. De Oviedo lead an alliance of religious folk and laborers to form a Post-Delegationist bloc that sought to exempt itself from the normal political life of Auraria and instead create their own communities that proposed based on individualism supported by communal interest. As such, in Auraria, Post-Delegationism has actually been connected to a number of religious movements seeking to upend the authority of the Tiburan Church in Tibur and redefine religion as a personal relationship between man and god.

In modernity, Post-Delegationist Organizations have organized in the interest of labor to support the rights of the workers over the bourgeois and the politicians that they buy. While never expressly identifying as such, the National Federation of Labor (the fourth largest political party in the National Court and current holder of the Minister of Justice) has long worked with such groups.

However, after a Pohjanmaan submarine was discovered in the Retalian Sea in an incident that sank a Serenien freighter and very well could have caused another war between that country and Eiffelland, many are wondering what Post-Delegationists are up to. The Commonwealth’s stated justification of constantly fighting against Statism has many concerned that home grown Post-Delegationists could join their fight.

“the core difference between Post-Delegationists and other ideologies is that, at the very least, the others have a loyalty to the Republic,” says Professor Mateo Sandoval “in fact, by the very definition of Post-Delegationism, they are actively seeking to destroy it.”

Certainly, such sentiments bring up memories of the violent riots at Santa Maria Wellness Clinic in early Glaciemes (late December) as police retook the Clinic from occupying Post-Delegationists. Still, those adhering to the ideology have often been regarded as peaceful.

The question needs to be asked though, if the Post-Delegationists aren’t loyal to the Republic, who are they loyal to?

I am writing to the Government of President Sanabria with a very interesting proposal. I believe that there is a tremendous market in Auraria for the provision of high quality hallucinogenic and recreational stimulants of a large number.

Under the authority granted to me by the Basic Law, I have considered a proposal to convert the city of Almezde as a international hub for the manufacture and production of such stimulants, and the surrounding countryside is well suited to such activities. It is the belief of the administration in Lions that the post-war recovery shall be greatly aided by the endeavor. Should a positive response come from Solis, we shall be in a position to immediately supply a very large consignment of a variety of chemically engineered stimulants and organic matters for the inspection by your relevant Ministry.

If such a business relationship works to the advantage of your nation, Occitania too shall be assisted greatly in its efforts to redevelop itself as a modern presence in the Gallian continent.

We believe that our little country can make the Aurarian people very happy.

NAVY TO PATROL LONG SEA
Ministry of Defense Announces New Directives to Patrol the Long Sea

[div] style="border: 1px;; width: 300px; padding: 5px; float:right" |

Three Aurarian Destroyers embark on patrol missions.
[/div]
[SOLIS] – As far as the Long Sea is concerned, the Aurarine Republic, Pelasgian Empire, and the Kingdom of Eiffelland-Retalia are uniquely positioned at the three entrance ways to the one of the world’s most traveled waterways and a vital lifeline of international trade. The Long Sea is an area prone for conflict as large nations continuously compete for influence over the area with the most recent conflict taking place over the sovereignty of the Retalian Islands – a war that destroyed the Trier Concord and forever changed the balance of power in Gallo-Germania.

Today, markets across Gallia-Germania opened in free fall as uncertainty permeated over whether commerce through the Long Sea can be considered safe. Even with increased activity from the Pelasgians, Aurarians, Eiffelloretalians, and the Serenien – four pirate vessels were able to make their way to the Gate of the Retalian and threaten a Serenien Freighter. Even more concerning is that is a Pohjanmaan Submarine was present, conveniently, at the time of the conflict as well. The development made it abundantly clear that the Aurarine Republic does not have a firm grasp over the western entrance of the Sea nor can it accurately assess its safety. While the Republic has already announced steps to improve naval infrastructure at the mouth of the Long Sea, it is taking things another step.

In what will be the Aurarian Republican Navy’s second deployment into the Long/Himyar Sea, the Ministry of Defense announced that the Republican Navy will now begin undertaking operations to ensure the integrity of the Long Sea is preserved for the free movement of commerce between nations.

“Noting the vital importance that the Sea plays in international trade, it is the responsibility of the Republican Navy to do its part in keeping these waters safe for international travel,” the Ministry announced.

The Ministry stated that the operations will coordinate with regional powers to ensure transparency and to prevent any “ill will” from spreading to the Sea’s competitor powers. The Ministry was very clear to state that it would not violate territorial waters and operate solely within the boundaries of international waters.

The full scope of the Aurarian Navy’s deployment is not yet known, but it represents a significant departure from the nation’s traditional foreign policy of protecting nothing more than its own coast

The Anti-State urges the Long Sea powers to show restrain as the facts regarding the recent Retalian incident begin to emerge. We also emphasize the legality of Free Navy vessels operating in the Retalian as part of ongoing post-delegationist freedom of navigation operations across the globe. In this situation, facts must be established first and foremost, we decidedly reject narratives about a new age of piracy emerging from unsubstantiated reports about a singular event in the region.

In the interest of protecting free navigation of the Long Sea, the Continental Navy will be conducting its own operations in the Long Sea to match the activities of other actors, to balance and internationalize the deployments in the Long Sea and to coordinate where needed against the as of now unsubstantiated threat of piracy. The Continental Navy will be in contact with the respective foreign state authorities for maximum transparency and safety.

The Villesen Government calls on all regional actors to crack down on the scourge of piracy and welcome the positive steps taken by the Sanabria administration. The presence of non and anti-state entities in the Long Sea is a concerning matter and we believe that all nation-states should unite to offer a cohesive response to non-state actors engaging in destabilizing actions.

Also we welcome the steps taken by the Sanabria administration with the aim to make the Long Sea more secure. We all have to realise that this sea is the aorta of the world. Almost all east-west sea traffic goes through the Long Sea. It is essential that this sea remains secure and free from piracy. We call upon the people internationally representing the Anti-States of Touzen and Pohjanmaa to understand our concerns regarding piracy in the Long Sea and the Retalian Sea. Freedom of the individual cannot mean that an individual can steal or rob whatever he or she wants from another individual. We can't imagine that Post-Delegationism does not put that limit on the freedom of human beings.

THE ULKOMINISTERIÖ MAKES NO MISTAKE THAT THE TRANQUILITY OF THE BARBARESKI SEA IS OF GREAT IMPORTANCE TO THE TRANSIT OF GLOBAL COMMERCE. THUS EXISTS THE PROBLEM WITH THE MILITARIZATION OF THIS SEA. THE THREAT OF PIRACY IS ONE THAT DOES NOT EXIST AS POHJANMAAN INTELLIGENCE HIGHLY DISPUTES THE CLAIM THAT PIRACY IS AS WIDESPREAD AS THE STATISTS THAT SURROUND THE BARBARESKI SEA CLAIM. ONE INCIDENT OF A SPEEDBOAT WITH A MOUNTED MACHINEGUN DOES NOT CREATE A TREND BUT MERELY AN ISOLATED INCIDENT OF REBELLIOUS INDIVIDUALS. LET THE COMMONWEALTH REMIND THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY THAT THESE INDIVIDUALS OF METALLIC DECORATIVE TASTES NEVER FIRED THEIR WEAPONRY UNTIL FIRED UPON BY THE EIFFELLORETALIAN NAVY. THESE INDIVIDUALS MAINTAINED THEIR RIGHT TO SELF DEFENSE AND WERE BRUTALLY MURDERED FOR THEIR HEROISM.

THESE NAVAL MISSIONS ARE A DEVELOPMENT FOR STATIST NATIONS ONLY LOOKING FOR NEW AVENUES OF WAR.

Even if this act of piracy is an isolated event, it worries the ship owners and the crews on the ships in the Long Sea and the Retalian Sea. Furthermore, we cannot tolerate robbery. Therefore, we must act. We will do everything we can to make sure that this act of piracy remains an isolated event.

REPUBLICAN AIR FORCE PREVENTS ATTACK ON TAURITANIA
A Freighter Carrying Explosives Enters Aurarian Waters Heading Toward Tauritania
[SOLIS] – The Armed Forces of the Aurarine Republic held a press conference today confirming that a freighter, rigged with explosives, was intercepted and destroyed by an RAF CAR F-7 after the ship wasn’t listed on any available manifests as well as refused to respond to any attempts by both Aurarian and Serenien Military Assets.

“The fighter did multiple infrared scans for any signs of a crew,” Defense Minister Elizondo stated “After the conclusion of these scans, the fighter made the assessment that the ship was abandoned. These findings were consistent with the vessel’s failure to respond to three separate attempts at radio contact and similar attempts by the Serenien Air Force. The scan did, however, show anomalies in the hull and when the vessel entered Aurarian waters, the pilot radioed for permission to open fire. This order was relayed to Solis from Gran Armilla Air Force base in Tauritania, I myself approved the measure.”

While the ship quickly sank, Aurarian Naval vessels closed in on the scene and have restricted the area to any other maritime vessel while an investigation was conducted into the source of the ship and the weapons onboard.

The Ministry stated that the sheer size of the explosion and damage done to the freighter would indicate that the anomalies detected by the CAR F-7 were bombs. Given the ship’s direct heading for Tauritania, the Ministry concluded that a yet-to-be-identified actor attempted to attack the shores of the Republic.

“Our military trains every day and we make every resource available to them to accomplish the mission at hand. Their actions are proof that the defenses of the Republic are more than capable than handling the new form of threats taking place in the Long Sea. We must all be thankful for their service to the Republic,” the Minister stated.

In recent weeks, the Long Sea has become a hotbed of activity yet again as multiple nations have exercised the strength of their own naval assets in response to Auraria spearheading efforts to ensure the sea’s safety. Certainly, after the incident with this freighter, the Republic will reevaluate if the assets it has deployed are sufficient to meet the mission or if additional assets are required. The Ministry did not yet comment on whether or not it would be escalating its efforts in the Long Sea. “The mission remains the same,” Minister Elizondo stated “We will protect the integrity and freedom of the Long Sea from any actor, state or not.”

While the freighter was carrying the flag of East Occitania, the Ministry stated that it is not yet confident that the fledgling nation had any responsibility for the attack. “We are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter,” the Minister stated “We will report our findings as soon as they are available.”

We commend the quick response from the Aurarian Air Force and are relieved that the nefarious scheme was foiled. We hope that our two air forces shall continue to cooperate and assist each other in these rapidly developing times.

We, in Villesen, further reiterate our full commitment to ensuring peace in Gallia. We believe on account of the strange events unfolding as of late in the Long Sea and the Retalian Sea, there is a tremendous need for international cooperation.

Until then, Serenierre shall be moving additional naval assets, in the form of a naval flotilla to West Occitania to cooperate with the wider efforts of the Aurarian Navy in the region.

We see here a type of terrorist attack of a size not seen before. It is good and wise that the Aurarian armed forces blocked off the assault before it took place. We commend the efforts of Aurarian and Serenien navy in securing the western part of the Long Sea; we will continue to do so in the Retalian Sea while deliberating with the Serenien navy, as well as in the eastern part of the Long Sea while deliberating with the navies of Occitania, Ostmark and Pelasgia.

AURARIA PREPARES FOR THE DÍAS DE LA REVOLUCIÓN
Despite Tensions, the Nation Heads into the Week Long New Year's Celebration and its Bicentennial

Young Dancers in Traditional Días de la Revolución dress
[/div]
[SOLIS] – The recent attempted attack on Tauritania and growing tensions in the Long Sea have not seemed to deter the Aurarians from preparing to celebrate the Días de la Revolución. Especially in light of the fact that the end of the festival this year will result in the 200th Anniversary of the Republic. The Días de la Revolución is a five-day celebration (six during a leap year) which each day focusing on a different aspect of the country. The days themselves originate from the Aurarian Republican Calendar as a way to hit 365 days per year despite having 12 months with 30 days each.

The first day, March 16th, is known as the Celebration of Conviction. This day honors the courage of all those who have fought for the foundation of the Republic and those who have defended it since. The second day, the Celebration of the Agrarian, focuses on the contributions that farmers have made to the health of the Republic. The third day is the Celebration of the Worker, which focuses on the contributions of workers. The fourth day is the Celebration of Virtues, which is a day of reflection on the ideals of the Republic. It is traditional during this day for discussions to be had about how to best improve and continue the promise of the Revolution for future generations. The final day is the Celebration of the Republic. This day focuses on the nation and therefore anything seen as “Aurarian” is to be celebrated. The last day is the most significant day and at midnight, Aurarians gather across the Republic to welcome the new year.

This year is particularly special in that the Aurarians will welcome the 200th year of the Republic. 1 Irames, or March 21 in the Gregorian Calendar, was the day that the National Court declared the Royal Family defunct and that the country would reorganize into a Republic in 1819, in 1821, a constitution followed and in 1822 the first Presidential and Legislative elections occurred. Since then, in spite of amendments, the 1821 Constitution has remained in authority. The road to the Republic certainly wasn’t easy nor without its bloodshed, but the survival of the nation – molded by the style of the Engellexic Republic – was a remarkable feat in history.

Despite each day having its own theme, the celebrations are fairly consistent. Parades litter the streets of virtually every city and people dancing in costumes are the most common sites. Solis, Tauritania, Cordalusia, and Hadigualis feature the largest of such celebrations and Tauritania’s red light district has always been allure for the country’s more risqué celebrators. Many professions take the entire week off or Aurarians save vacation time to use during this period. Undoubtedly, the jubilant celebrations show off the prime of the joyfulness of the Aurarians as we celebrate what makes us who we are.

Although citizens of the Aurarian Republic recently insulted the traditions of the Azraqi Empire we shall not hold that against all the Aurarian people as they celebrate a landmark day for their country.

His Imperial Majesty Boqor Tiirka Illah will gift the government of Auraria a Himyari elephant, a Toyouan elephant and an Implarian dolphin from his personal collection.

The President of the Aurarian Republic is also invited to the Azraqi Empire to meet with HisHis Imperial Majesty to discuss matters of mutual interest.

[SOLIS] – “The true spirit of Auraria is that in this nation every person is free to be who they are, free to pursue their dreams, and free from dangers. Auraria is now and forever will be the world’s greatest experiment in human happiness,” said President Sanabria at a breakfast commemorating the start of the new year on the Aurarian Republican Calendar, and also the official bicentennial of the Republic. “Today we celebrate two hundred years of constantly striving to perfect the greatest society in Europe. We have made such incredible progress, but I am prepared to help forge the way forward and see what we can accomplish together.”

At midnight, Aurarians across the bi-continental Republic celebrated their bicentennial in a blaze of firework displays, dancing, drinking, and indulging to celebrate the new century. The celebrations went long into the morning, some continuing on even after the sun rose on 1 Irames CC. Nearly every city across the country had its own display with Solis, Tauritania, Navales, Cordulusia, and Hadigualis competing for the nation’s prime display. Though, from the opinion of La Prensa Libre, no one has yet to dethrone the Tauritanian Celebrations. The City of Colors continues to be the reigning champion.

The morning of 1 Irames was significantly quieter than the night before as, well, the nation was recovering. However, around midday the streets were filled once more with jubilant families celebrating the accomplishments of the Republic. Thousands of people, including President Sanabria, visited the Republican National Archives to see the display of the original draft of the Aurarian Constitution, the Universal Declaration of Human Values, and the almanac page outlining the Republican Calendar. The unusually warm day saw tens of thousands flock to the beaches to enjoy the sun of the new year and the formal end of Winter.

Thousands of Elamrans gathered at the Temple of Liberation in Hadigualis. The Temple is really more of a garden with a flower planted for each of the 56,791 Elamran volunteers who crossed the Straits of Zephyr to join in defeating the Aurarian Army still loyal to the crown and securing the Republic. Governor Al-Kairouani was joined by President Sanabria at the memorial.

The Solis National Zoo was of particular interest this year it featured two hyenas from Natalia, two elephants from Azraq, and two jaguars from the Vaquero Free State. The Astorga Marine Institute had the dolphin gifted from Azraq on display as well. Marisela Palace, which was open to public tours, also had on display a bible that was owned by Gustavo Munez, one of the principle political thinkers and founder of the Unión Nacional Integralista in the Vaquero Free State.

A strong wave of patriotism swept the nation during this year’s Days of the Revolution as many homes across the nation had Aurarian flags draped from their windows. People took extra care to wear some purple article of clothing, the color most associated with the Republic.

The day ended with an address from President Sanabria where he concluded by announcing:

“Auraria, unlike most parts of the world, opens our hands to the vulnerable and will forever be a home to all those who seek a better life for their families and themselves. This is what defines us and will be forever the core value of this Republic. The blessings of our society must be accessible to all who seek it. With that in mind, I am honored to announce that OESFRA has completed 15,419 asylum requests from Loago. Upon their recommendation, I am proud to say that I will be approving every one of them. It is my privilege to welcome these new Aurarians to our country and to join in the story that defines our future. Welcome. And to all of us, may we have many more years of prosperity.”
