MONTELIMAR TO PURCHASES MARQUETTE BONDS

VALMY - It has been revealed from the Ministry of Finance plans to purchase Marquette government bonds and to business loans and offer other incentives to Montelimarians willing to invest as well as open businesses in Marquette. This move by the Montelimar government has spured investment from the private sector as well, as the Banque Royale de Montélimar and other investment banks have announced the establishment of a Marquette Investment Fund and the Consortium d'Investissement de Lafayette is looking to invest directly in Marquette companies in need of a fresh infusion of capital and real estate. Other Montelimarian corporations such as Cinq-Mars and Beaufort are also openly considering investing.

PRINCESS ALEXANDRA TO VISIT AQUITANIA

VALMY - The King's sister, Her Royal Highness, Princess Alexandra, will accompany Montelimar's trade delegation to Aquitania. Though it is unclear the reasons why a member of the Royal Family would be sent on a routine mission, as the mission is understood to be one reaffirm past agreements and negotiate some new contracts, it is rumored the Princess actually requested the assignment. Though the Princess has an masters degree in business administration from the Royal University in Valmy, the twenty-five year old has little experience outside the classroom especially where it comes to international dealings, though, as it is a routine mission, it be considered a way for her to gain some of that valuable experience.

 FDR READIES AS SC DEBATES - As the Security Council debates over the need to deploy a peacekeeping force to Batavië, His Majesty has ordered units of the Force de Déploiement Rapide (FDR) to prepare to deploy at a moment notice to the Scandian country. The order was given as soon as the Security Council was notified by Montelimar's ambassador to the Council of Nations, through the Franken representative on the SC, that such a force would be readied for deployment in any Batavian peacekeeping operations. In addition to peacekeeping troops, humanitarian supplies are also being readied to be sent so as to help in relief efforts there.

:!: MONTELIMAR ELECTED TO SEAT ON SECURITY COUNCIL - Jean-Louis de Brissac, duc de Fontaine-Harcourt, as Montelimar's Ambassador to the Council of Nations, will now also serve as Montelimar's representative on the Security Council. HRH Duke Jean-Louis will enter a Security Council that has become to looked upon as a body that is unable to accomplish the tasks it has been assigned. It is hoped that the present SC will be able to repair the reputation, but the outlook seems poor.

:!: NAVY TO ACQUIRE FRANKEN BUILT CARRIERS - The Royal Navy has made a surprise move in its acquiring of two Andrea Class nuclear powered aircraft carriers from VFS of Franken. An additional surprise came when it was announced that the new carriers will replace the navy's last two coventional powered strike carriers, the Le Souverain and L'Auguste. This is definately a diversion from past policies of the Royal Navy where it looked to Société d'Acier de Vendôme (SAV) to provide the fleet with major surface vessels and it was SAV that has built the two nuclear powered supercarriers, Brissac and Nareath that presently serves in Montelimar's navy.

:!: BELMONT SENDS ULTIMATUM TO FORMER ALLY
VALMY - It does not come as a great surprise in Valmy that a new diplomatic row that has risen concerning Belmont's confusing and sometime irrational foreign policy, this time it is an ultimatum sent to Metz concerning something as irrevelant as a news article. It seem that any criticism of Belmtont's policies, the government in Paris takes personally, and now would even issue ultimatums over thing that a rational government would easily ignore.

Though so far, it is unknown what will happen when the 24-hour ultimatum expires, officials in Valmy have some concerns especially with the increasing anti-EDF rhetoric comming out of Paris. Though the rhetoric is expected from Paris, what should concern Valmy more what was in official correspondance of the Belmontian government contained the following when referring to the EDF, "the security of Franken, Wiese and the western members [are] compromised", this so soon after Belmont left the EDF and Belmont's courious relationship with Oltremare, a government that has had a long time grudge against the western nations and especially the Catholic ones.

It is a sad day indeed when Belmont, a kingdom who's monarchs where for centuries considered Defenders of the Faith and some even wearing the crown of the Holy Tiburan Empire, would side with Oltremare against the Mother Church itself.

We echo the statements of Aquitania. Ascalon is ashamed of the recent actions of Belmont, ranging from calling Ascalon's government a "regime", comparing Ascalon to Freiheit which made zero sense, shifting it's religious affiliation whenever it seems fit to do so, and of course who can forget the actions it pursued during the Paris Talks with the SEEDTO. The Finance Ministry is determining if there would be any harm to Ascalon's economy if we were to pursue an Oil Embargo upon one of the most incompetent nations we have ever had dealings with.

With Love,
Father Dominic Basil

The Sovereigns of the Kingdom are titled as Defenders of the Faith, there is no doubt, but it is the opinion of HRH Prince Nicolas, the Government and the People that the centuries old opposition to Tiburia is not the way of the Good Lord. Forgiveness is a key tenant of our good faith. Let us all not forget that.

Truly,

"Most esteemed Mr. Villevan,

"I would like to express His Imperial Majesty's Cabinet of Ministers' unsettling over the recent diplomatic row between the Kingdom of Belmont and as many as all the countries it borders and beyond. Such an erratic behaviour between former friends and allies is absolutely unacceptable and unjustified, no matter the circumstances. If Belmont discontinues good relations with its neighbours, it can have catastrophic consequences for the country's economy and society, or worse.

"The Germanian countries, in such an era, have managed to spearhead international affairs through the creation of a new cooperative project like no other. Certainly, if countries like Danmark and Eiffelland, countries that are nominally aligned to fight one another, can cooperate to the extent of being co-founders of the Germanian League, why can the Gallian countries put their puny differences aside and attempt something similar?

"I respect your government's decision to abandon your association with the European Defence Federation, but let me criticise you, as a colleague with honourable and friendly interest, over the recent happenings. Whether or not the embargo of Talemantros and the row with Marquette sufficed to make Belmont end its association, I know not; but I know that there is no substantial ground to continue alienating your country from its neighbours, countries with who you trade, coexist, and cooperate for centuries now.

"With respect to His Royal Highness, I recommend that you find your own foreign policy, one that is not directly dictated from the Palace - by somebody who is not even a reigning monarch, nevertheless, and is now proving himself incapable of listening to advice. I find it unlikely that an experienced politician such as you or Ms. Martinique would yield and do something so seemingly erratic, not without strong pressure.

"Last, but not least, let me ask you -personally, if you will- to avoid deciding on matters of the Faith of such grand scale. You, me, and everyone else of our level is but glorified civil servants. Even our honourable monarchs cannot speak of forgiveness, though they might often reign by the Grace of God. Forgiveness of such a grand level, is at the hands of the Vicar of Christ, and the Vicar of Christ alone. Let us not forget that.

"I ask that you reconsider your recent approaches with Sarmatia and Oltremare, for this might permanently destroy many hopes of your government for peaceful coexistence with its former friends. As a neutral country, you understand the importance of balance - and balance here is crucial. Right now, you seemingly favour the League of Free States significantly more than the European Defence Federation, which can prove severely catastrophic on a strategic scale.

"If you find it prudent, we could try to arrange a meeting among Belmont, Lorraine, Marquette and Aquitania somewhere in Wiese, where you can solve your differences under our mediation. Not everyone need accept our offer: as long as two countries from these two camps accept, I feel we can have wonderfully positive results.

"On behalf of the Imperial Chancellor and His Highness the King, I look forward to your response."

Regards,
Heinrich Maximilian

"It is the opinion of His Majesty's government that it is the Constitution Creation Oligarcy that has been given the authority, by the people of Aresura, to create a new government and that it is the government of Touzen that, by supporting the militant extremist faction called the 'Radical Legitimist' is undermining the those democratic principles it claims to support."
