The Thaumantic Order has contacted us with the request to help them with mediating between Tianlong and Angliarique. The request mainly focused on the well-being of prisoners of war. We were asked to contact Tianlong and inform us about the Anglian prisoners of war.

From our point of view, neither Angliarique nor Tianlong can benefit from this war. It is in the interest of both parties to put an end to it.

Angliarique is a very sensitive topic to Tianlong. Furthermore, Tianlong's stance towards its former allies may be quite strained. We would like to ask you for your help in this diplomatic matter.

The Assembly Broad and Wide has voted in favour of the free trade agreement and additional cooperation venues between the Meridian Union and the Freeport Serene Duchy, endorsing the Commonwealth's support and adherence to the above.

We wish to inform our Meridian Union partners that the Commonwealth is in discussions with the Empire of Pelasgia on working together towards creating a transit corridor between Inova and Nauplia. This would bring in benefits in creating a land route from Pelasgia into Remuria and, thereon, establishing a second land route into the Meridian Union to complement the current land route going into the Rheinbund.

In addition to the existing causeway crossing through Radilo, linking Remuria-Tiburtina, Radilo, Remuria-Aurelia and the whole of Rheinbund into a land connection, this would help create a strong transit and economic route in the Meridian Union's south and south-eastern reaches. Technical requirements for the project will ensure a continued flow of shipping into the Gulf of Tibur from the Sudterranean (Meridian) Sea.

The Commonwealth is also looking forward to the continued development of the transit corridor between the Rheinbund and Ebria through the Freeport Principality.

Subject: Official Establishment of Closer Relations between Pelasgia and the Meridian Union

Your Excellencies,

Considering:
1. Pelasgia's long-standing status as a "potential candidate" and its corresponding official designation as a "Meridian Nation" by the Meridian Union.
2. Pelasgia's close cultural, political, economic, social and diplomatic links with all members of the Union on a bilateral basis and, increasingly, with the Union as a whole.
3. Pelasgia's recent agreements for the construction of an international transportation corridor and visa-free access with the Commonwealth of Remurian and Retalian Nations.

The Pelasgian Empire would like to formally propose that a new, official agreement be drafted to officialise closer relations between itself and the Meridian Union in a number of key areas. While we understand that social and political differences between our country and the Union's Members are still significant enough full membership and openness between us are likely off the table for now, we nevertheless believe that both sides can benefit from closer and more open relations.

Namely, such an agreement would include a number of long-term objectives, along with gradual steps to achieve them:
1. Free movement of persons between Pelasgia and the Meridian Union, including the right to study and to work in either country. If this measure seems too radical for now, we would propose as an incremental step, visa-free travel for up to 90 days (as in the agreement with Remuria), along with the right to work and to study with residency being tied to employment or educational status.
2. Free movements of goods, services and capital between Pelasgia and the Meridian Union, subject to respect of common standards. If this measure seems too radical for now, we would propose as an incremental step a mutual reduction of tariffs and restrictions, along with gradual harmonisation of rules and regulations.
3. Pelasgia would not participate in the Common Agricultural Policy or the Common Fisheries Policy, and point 2 would thus mutually not apply in this case. Instead, more specific agreements on common standards in exchange for market access can be negotiated separately.
4. Scientific cooperation and research pooling, including Pelasgia's joining the scientific and research networks and the student exchange programmes of the Meridian Union. Pelasgia would be willing and able to contribute its significant resources, facilities and skilled personnel to these programmes.

On increased cooperation with the Pelasgian Empire

The Commonwealth stands in favour of an increased, but thoroughly phased, integration between the Meridian Union and the Pelasgian Empire in line with the ideas outlined by the Imperial Secretary of the Exterior in their proposal. Increased integration all the way from Valls, through Freeport, into Fehrbellin, branching out into Augusta and Nuevo Porto and continuing all the way to Propontis serves to create an area of peace, prosperity and national wellbeing across a continuous wide area.

We also welcome the fact that the Pelasgian Empire is fully aware of the potential limitations given its own political structure and the difference in the standards of living between the average Meridian Union denizen and an Imperial denizen. Therefore, we should be cautious with the right of abode and work and ensure that it is subjected to clear rules and guidelines, to avoid an uncontrolled influx of Pelagian workers into the Meridian Union, as this would first and foremost undermine the Empire's own demographic potential, whilst also contributing to putting a pressure on wages within the Meridian Union. However, a clearly regulated exchange of skilled and qualified workforce between the Empire and the Meridian Union can be beneficial for both sides.

The Commonwealth will be interested on hearing the opinions of the other Member States.

Concerning Peleglsia

The Most Serene Republic always enthusiasticly supports any effort to expand free trade, and we would welcome efforts to integrate Peleglsia's economy into ours. Our existing relationships with the Peleglsian shipping industry have proven fruitful in the past. However, recent incidents, including the arrest of a foreign national for possession of a book, are concerning. That, and frequent abuse of queer people, suggests that safety measures must be adopted to ensure that such peculiarities do not interfere with trade. Otherwise I am concerned that there may be a reluctance for merchants to participate in the newly proposed overland trade.

The United Kingdom stands in approval to the proposals of the Remurian and Retalian Commonwealth. We will vote in support with expanded trade between the Meridian Union and the Pelasgian Empire, and thus agree that a free trade agreement would be profitable for both parties. At the same time we understand the concerns of the Remurians and Radilans, and thus state that we will offer maybe laxer immigration, but still score based on skills and trades in demand in the Meridian Market, but currently the Pelasgian state is far away from the realities of the Meridian Union to be seen as a full member and thus use the privileges of what Meridian Citizenship can offer.​

There are many ties between the Pelasgian Empire and the Rheinbund. The company Daedalus Aviation is an example of those ties. We are definitely in favour of establishing closer relations between Pelasgia and the Meridian Union. This means that we will vote in favour of a free trade agreement with Pelasgia, but also with a closer scientific cooperation and research pooling as suggested by the Pelasgian government, as well as a student exchange program. We agree with the proposal from our colleagues from Ebria regarding migration.

Esteemed colleagues,

We are happy to see that the Meridian Union has survived probably what has been its hardest challenge as of yet in its 3 years of existence and not only did Ebria remain a nation where the rule of law reigns and democracy triumphs but also Radilo managed to survive dearly and to not just hold off the enemies, but also still retain much of its overseas territories. In this, we want to congratulate the government of Isabel Lacé in signing a peace treaty which has brought significant changes in Pelasgia too, changing the regime in Propontis so as to leave the hostile Pressburg Treaty, adopt democracy and offer us, what is probably a first, but a democratic socialist Prime Minister in Pelasgia, which also promised a rapprochement and a societal transformation worthy of the Meridian Union.

We also want to thank the Rheinbund for their financial support, as we understand what the risk is in the current government and for the future political careers for their members, as the 100 billion EM aid is quite significant and can sort out many problems for both Ebria and Radilo. Yet we ask that this aid to go through the Meridian Union and we build a redevelopment fund specifically for the reparations in Ebria and Radilo.

At the same time, at the approval of Radilo we wonder, considering the change in government and the recent decrees gave by the government in Pelasgia, if it is not the time to begin the discussions of enlarging the Union by inviting the Pelasgians in. We also wish to propose issuing an invite to Josepania as an observer member to the Union.

Providing financial aid is the least that we can do in these dire times. Sorry that we couldn't do more. We have no problems with channeling our aid through the Meridian Union by means of a redevelopment fund for Ebria and Radilo.

We have frozen quite a lot of assets of the Duke of Calatrava, Aníbal Durán, a few other individuals belonging to the alphonsist faction and several alphonsist organisations. We are working on confiscating those assets. If we are successful, we will channel those funds to Ebria, given the fact that these are Ebrian assets.

Also we are very happy to see that Pelasgia is choosing the path of democracy. It must be said that it came to a shock to us that Pelasgia joined the Pressburg Pact. This move was the reason why we splitted the Rheinian part of Daedalus Aviation off of the Pelasgian part. It is good to see the most recent changes in Pelasgia, especially that the country is not part of the Pressburg Pact any more. Pelasgia becoming a member of the Meridian Union is part of the Vesper Treaty; we will cooperate with that. Also we think that a democratic Pelasgia has a place in the Meridian Union and agree with inviting Pelasgia in. We also agree with inviting Josepania in as an observing member. This has been discussed both within the demissionary government and with the political leaders of the parties currently negotiating to form a coalition.
