I am the Sequanae, better known as New France. I made the Sequanae so I could RP with all of you guys. I am wondering one thing: how should I begin? I tried making my own thread awhile ago but it attracted little attention. Should I instead join an already-active thread so people could see my country right away?

I'd suggest a news thread and maybe an OOC one explaining the basics of your nation.

Make an OOC thread like Cathiopa said and perhaps look over/ask other nations of your target map spot histories so you can start finding out how you can create a shared history and integrate yourself into your region, the WE ARE COMING BACK FROM ISOLATION idea works but the other way, while harder, would be better and hopefully more rewarding for you.

Agreed. Working out shared history with neighbours in the spot you pick is a good way to find RP with neighbours right off the bat, like bickering over historical wars or land grabs or whatever.

The coming back from isolation, in my opinion, is a lot harder, because you literally start with no relationship with any nation.

Hey, I was shown this place from a friend of mine. As you can tell by the post count and join date, I am in fact, new, try not to hold it against me. I have a couple of ideas on what kind of nation I'd like to make, but I'm not 100% sure which of the two would probably be better for me.

One would be located somewhere in the Far East, roughly southwest of Yujin. It would have possibly Burmese/Cambodian/Thai influences as far as ethnicity goes. The other would be something in the Western Hemisphere, roughly the equivalent of a Mesoamerican nation of today.

Hello and welcome to europe-game!
Hold it against you, and the contrary we love new guys! :p

Your far-east idea and your Mesoamerican idea will both we well recived as they are both areas looking for new blood. I recommend asking Occidentian nations like Sylvania and Tyrculir or Far-East nations like Oikawa or Vangala to check out which area you want to commit to.

In general though you can ask me, communique if you want about any of the workings of this game (Such as how to get started) and I will answer.

If you decide to go for the Mesoamerican nation, you might easily find a home beside myself and Auraria.

Considering Occidentia is filling up at the moment, we really need more people in Touyou right now.

I recommend asking Occidentian nations like Sylvania, Tyrculir, Aurarian Republic, Attreyu Republic, Tulus & Biminis, Cascadian Republic, Pellewburg Confederacy and the Frescanian West Antilles.

Better? :p

Welcome to the forum, though it feels silly welcoming you given I'm the one who showed you and you know I already welcome you to it.

As I've said both ideas have merit, though both have their own flaws too. As I've also said, if you go in the south-east hemisphere of the map you're probably not going to get much interaction or RP out of me. I would say, as I'm about to tell you over IM, pick where you'd propose each place is, and in a cooperative corner thread post your ideas for both, so that you can figure out exactly WHAT fits in with you.

Alrighty... So far I've seen the bigger response from having a nation in Occidentia, so I think I'm going to start exploring that as my first option, then.

Good good! Your next step then is simple. Just post a new thread here:

Outlying your idea for your nation. Others will come and you can work out past history etc etc.

Also make sure to click the World Map tab up above and pick out a map spot! :)

Letzenburg is present at the forums.

EDIT: Where do we find the ideology values required on profile settings?

Välkommen till Europa! —Ideology settings can be found in 'Settings > Edit profile'. You'll find they will be represented by numeric drop down boxes rather than sliders or manual input.

If we had always operated under that logic, then all nations would only ever have been created in Germania. Activity in other parts of the globe started because there were pioneers willing to take a risk and be amongst the first. There is a bunch of theoretically interesting RPs going on involving several regional players, so there is good potential for involvement right from the start, back me up here, Sikandara :p

in more general terms I really see that this could become a bigger problem of nobody moving to Touyou anymore because nobody moves to Touyou. And I'm not counting colonies here, I mean real nations and real commitment.
