Alrighty... So far I've seen the bigger response from having a nation in Occidentia, so I think I'm going to start exploring that as my first option, then.

There is more response to whomever roleplays, whether you are in Occidentia or Touyou, it doesn't matter. If you're giving people something to respond to, there will always be RP potential. This is what I have learned in my experience and this is what I can say. So my own advice really is just to be different and write stuff that would provoke interest.

You mentioned that you are trying to role play a Communist state, so I recommend players for example Carentania or Kyiv to meet and greet and help work out your history.

Artotzka is somewhat like a miniature USSR, but with less red. I haven't thought much on the subject of an ethnic background for Artotzka.

I recommend looking at the map, and considering your ethnic background based upon where you'd like to end up on the map. We try to cluster ethnicities to improve realism.
