AGREEMENT OF FRIENDSHIP AND COOPERATION WITH JUSTIZA
Justinian delegations meets with Emperor and Ministers in Great Palace of Propontis
by Konstantinos Dragasis, Diplomatic correspondent
A Justinian delegation, comprised of Minister of Foreign Affairs Giuliana Marghêri, Minister of Culture Giuliano Verga and renowned Justinian writer Paolo Pietramarchi, visited the Great Palace of Propontis, where they were welcomed by His Imperial Majesty, the Emperor, as well as several Imperial Ministers and the Prime Minister. The two delegations discussed for several hours, in a climate that was described as 'pleasant and productive'.
The two sides have agreed to several measures to boost cultural, economic, diplomatic and defensive cooperation between them. On the topic of culture Museum and Cultural Exchanges, Student Exchange Programmes, Joint Cultural Expositions, the opening of Institutes of Justinian Language and Culture in the Empire and vice-versa, the expansion of the famed 'Librerie Aureli' Justinian bookstore chain in the Empire, the introduction of Pelasgian theatrical plays in Justiza and Justinian operas in the Empire and measures to introduce the two nation's cuisine to one another were agreed upon. Additionally the Empire has agreed to receive and protect a number of Ninfe, traditional and ancient spiritual guardians of the Justinian Faith, so as to protect Justinian Religious and Cultural tradition, in case any danger would come to the Justinian homeland.
On the economic front, the two sides agreed to completely eliminate port charges and tariffs. As both the Tiburan Empire and Justiza are amongst the biggest shipping powers in the Long Sea, and Europe for that matter, this measure is bound to stimulate maritime trade between them. Several measures pertaining to mutual defence have also been taken, including the construction of an Imperial naval base in Justiza, with the garissoned Imperial ships promising to protect Justinian coasts. The Imperial Armed Forces have also dispatched a Military Mission, composed of several experienced officers, as well as significant amounts of equipment, in order to help modernise, train and reform their Justinian counterparts.
Finally the two sides have signed a joint, public Declaration of Friendship, promising to boost their diplomatic cooperation and presence. At the end of the meeting, the Emperor Himself gifted the Justinian delegates Medals of Friendship to commemorate this historic day in the relations of the two Long Sea nations, while His Imperial Majesty also returned an ancient Justinian vase, which had ended up in an Imperial Museum through private donourship, to the Justinians.
