In that case, however, the lead currency sets the exchange rate! See this thread for further information

Since choices are slim... meaning I have only one choice and I'd like to get the ball rolling, I will set myself to the Danish gold standard. What other choice do I have? :3

Edit: Name of my currency would be reflected as 1 Rigsdaler = ??? Shillings

Eiffelland Mark (ELM): 36.582 ELM = 1 ounce of gold.

OOC: I did some research. According to , 1 ounce of gold was worth $34.84 in 1953. At that time, one dollar was worth 4.20 DM (see ).

From now on, I will take the German prices of 1953 (and following years) as basis for my country. However, 34.84 x 4.20 = 146.83. That is a bit too far away from the rest, so I decide to multiply by 1.05 instead. If I do so, I only need to divide prices of 1953 (and following years) Germany by four to get my own prices. 34.84 x 1.05 = 36.582. Herewith I have my exchange rate.

OOC: decided to return this to activity.I encourage people to post their exchange rates if they haven't done so yet and I will update this more reliably. I also encourage larger/stronger economies to try and convince smaller countries to peg their currencies to their own and overall pursue a more active economic policy. Finally, if some mod or admin could sticky this thread, it'd be neat.

For more information on gold and currencies, the Bretton Woods article on wikipedia is a very good source since that is basically how the forex market worked from 1945-1970.

I was thinking that after the succession crisis and the anti-Danish sentiment it would've made zero sense not to issue a new currency with the new government, and cut ties with the Danes on the monetary front, who clearly could've waged some economic warfare on us. I haven't really spoken on currency during the conflict, and perhaps it would be appropriate to put forward a new currency, "Crown" or "Krone" and attach it to Frescania. Opinions?
