ELECTIONS NOVEMBER OR DECEMBER?
"SOON," SAYS TAOISEACH ERAINT DURING AGRICULTURAL SHOW​

ELECTIONS TO "COME SOON" STATES TAOISEACH.
Taoiseach Eraint has stated that federal elections will come to the High Kingdom soon, "Before the New Calendar Year, but after Samhain." The Taoiseach stated same this morning at an Agricultural show in Portcaislean. The delay for the elections, despite continued calls for same, was "to respect the sacred holiday, and not turn it into a political circus."

"BEFORE THE NEW CALENDAR YEAR, BUT AFTER SAMHAIN."

Claíomh Solais received their worst ever result, receiving support from just 42% of the electorate, back in 2013. This election shock led to the coalition government with historical opposition party, Túr na Solais.

Leader of the coalition partner, Tánaiste Eochaid Bres was in agreement with his coalition partners. "Samhain is a time of meditation and remembrance. I was a very young lad during the Battle for Vedrarfjord, but I remember the sounds and smells of the battle like it was yesterday. And my father and uncle never survived it."

Recent BlueD Polls put support for Claíomh Solais at just 32%, the lowest levels seen since the establishment of the party in 1951, one year before the Ivernish Civil War. However, historical polls have shown a rise in support for Claíomh Solais during and after the Samhain period, due to their prominent role in the conflict.

Daonlathaithe Críostaí leader, Lander Mac Brady stated during an interview with Raidió na Gaeltachta that elections must be held as soon as possible. "The poor response from our Government to building affordable homes has led to this housing crisis in Caladbolg, Vedrarfjord and even Portcaislean. I continue to note that over a third of the TDs that constitute Claíomh Solais and Túr na Solais are Landlords. The youth in our cities cannot wait out for the celebrations to end, we need more housing today, not in November."

SAMHAIN CELEBRATIONS ACROSS THE COUNTRY
NATION PREPARES FOR THE GAELIC NEW YEARS EVE

Samhain, known worldwide as the Celtic New Year, has not been the official end of the calendar year for over 30 years, but still holds cultural and spiritual significance for the Ivernish across the nation and the world.

On the evening of October 31st, Ivernish people shall light bonfires and celebrate with their families the yield of the harvest. On November 1st, Mass will be held across the nation. As Samhain falls this year on a Sunday, it is expected the entire nation will be in attendance.

Check with your local post office for Samhain family events. City and town councils across the nation have arranged for field sermons for those that cannot access an indoor service throughout the day.

Minister for Culture and Spiritual Affairs Cormac Donoghue has announced further funding has been secured to renovate churches that have fallen into disrepair. "A breakthrough in our culture budget has allowed additional monies to be moved to the restoration of our beautiful churches, abbeys and shrines that have unfortunately not had the funding for upkeep despite having high attendance and visitors from pilgrims. Our most impoverished areas need the light of God the most, and this new re-adjustment of our national cultural spending reflects this."

National elections were due to be held across Ivernia in all five provinces in October, however as a part of the Storm Aiden Restoration Initiative, the elections have been delayed until "the end of the year."

"We are a proud democratic community," said Taoiseach Nuada Airgetlám at the Portcaisleán Agricultural Trade Show. "However Storm Aiden destroyed many road ways and important mountain passes in Highever, and left multi-meter high snow deposits in Formoria that have yet to be cleared."

Taoiseach Airgetlám argued it would be "untenable" to host elections "during a time where many of our citizens do not have the ability to reach the voting booth."

Silvio Mac Brady, TD and leader of the Christian Democrats, criticised the Taoiseach's words at the same agricultural show, where both were in attendance. "Our Taoiseach has had two weeks to address the damage done by Storm Aiden. Our Taoiseach has vacillated in his duty."

Opposition parties continue to accuse the Government of "stalling to repair their flagging support."

Leader of the Catholic Solidarity Party, Francis MacDermott, repeated in the Dáil yesterday that "Taoiseach Airgetlam has promised the deployment of the Order of the Northern Sky to help with the relief effort, however no order has been made as of yet."

TD Mac Dermott has stated he will announce same in the Dáil every day the Taoiseach does not mobilise the Order that controls all military forces across northern Formoria and northwestern Highever.

IVERNISH IMPERIAL ARMY CALLED
THE ORDER OF THE NORTHERN SKY PREPARES TO ASSIST

Taoiseach Nuada Airgetlám made a special announcement today on Raidió Caladbolg that the Order of the Northern Sky will be called, including reserves, to assist in the Storm Aiden Restoration Initiative. The High King was notified and counselled on the decision by the Taoiseach and senior military officers yesterday afternoon, and the High King has approved the action.

The mighty blizzard that passed over northern Formoria and the Highever isles in early October caused tremendous pile ups of snow, blocking and damaging roadways.

"Let me be clear," said Nuada Airgetlám in the Raidió Caladbolg interview. "We have the people accounted for and food parcels are continuing to be delivered by the Ivernish Civil Defence daily."

The Tasoiseach has stated that the reason for the delays was arranging for the mobilisation of troops over such a large area. "Logistics was always the issue, and with Samhain complete, we have the manpower and vehicles for this important mission."

Páirtí Ríoga spokesperson for the coalition Dara Kellensey approved the message. "Now more than ever we need to unite and believe in our brave soldiers."

Opposition parties Daonlathaithe Críostaí and Páirtí an Lucht Oibre made a joint statement, delivered to the Dáil and with a copy to the Royal House of Tara, declaring "better now than never." The statement went on to contend that they would be "watching closely the efforts, and ensuring that the work of the soldiers equally and fairly delivered to all the citizens of Formoria and Highever."

Party leader of Daonlathaithe Críostaí, TD Silvio Mac Brady, said on the delivery of the statement, "The army does not just serve the wealthiest members of society, but the working class in towns and cities, and the isolated rural communities too."

The National Elections have been delayed under December at the earliest, according to the Government, pending the speed of the restoration efforts by the Imperial Army.

HIGH KING HEADING DOWN UNDER
HIGH KING FELIX UÍ NÉILL TO TRAVEL TO THE WINTER PALACE

Winter has come to the High Kingdom, and with winter will bring heavier snows in the Highlands, and new snowfall soon to arrive in the Midlands and Lowlands.

The High King, now at seventy-five years old, has decided for the second year in a row that His Majesty and the High Queen shall be spending the winter in New South Ivernia, in the Winter Palace of New South Cross.

The High King presented the decision to Taoiseach Airgetlám yesterday afternoon, which the Taoiseach accepted. The High King intends to also make reference to this decision as a part of the Royal Samhain National Address which shall be broadcast on all radio stations to the public at 13:00 today.

It is predicted the move south shall be until March 1st, and will be due to the warmer climate being more agreeable to the age of the monarch.
