Maintaining the status quo does not seem like an option. I feel like those slots are going to be perpetually empty which mean in essence no culture will occupy them because no nation will.

Also, it should be said, if I remember correctly, that Sarmatia was only made larger so that we could fit the map on the globe, before that there wasn't this problem of a pixel waste land (at-least not to such an extent).

A broader suggestion to map improvement.

1.) Bring Scania closer to Eurodisney: Sinking plots N4, N6, N7, and N5. Then Scania can move NE closer N1 and G4. This brings Scania closer to Eurodisney and that southern coast of Scania looks far more appealing to new players. Especially if N9 becomes 2 or 3 plots.

2.) With the movement of Scania, Occidentia can move closer to Eurodisney and Himyar. Bridging the gap in the massive Thaumantic Ocean can hopefully help bring players a little bit closer to each other and hopefully help reduce distance perceptions.

I really don't mean to rush you Ommeroth but could you speed up the process of adding me to the map (I've claimed H2) a little? I've been where without a map spot for almost a week and I'm eager to start my RP.

I'm without a map spot and I've already started rping. ;) Actually, back in the day you had to start Rping for 30 posts or so without a spot before you were even considered for addition to the map.

Well I already have those posts from before I went inactive. I already have a diplomatic meeting with two nations so i guess I'm already RPing. Though the map really helps as it's easier to RP when you know where you are and who you should invest time in having good relations with.

If you've submitted the request and you're just waiting for it to be put on then can't you just work on the assumption that you will be placed where you were asked to be.

That's what I did before the map was updated, just RPd as if I already had the map spot albeit only for a couple of days.

Just assume you're a nation of flying castle fortresses with flying carriers and stuff! :twi:

Maaan, I should totally do that.

I'll surely do an update before Friday, and then fair warning it might be a week or two weeks before I can do another map update - depending on how soon we get our connection set up.

Now that there are a few ''Mutual Defence Zones'', a few alliances, as well the the Triparitite, perhaps it's time to begin shading nations who are alinged in similar colours like in the old days? It might make it simpler to keep track of the unions, as well as add some political depth to our map.

Just a thought! @ @

I am against alliance colours. I prefer the national colours :)

I don't think alliances are actually that predominant an aspect of the setting yet...they exist, but they are not the primary actors in RP. So perhaps possibly a second map showing alliances, but I'm not sure about putting them onto the main map. I'd like flags to return to the map, though. And capitals. Mhhh, flags.

I would go for flags and capitals.. I was never around for flags but I remember the old days of having a capital on the map.
