Also, if you Kyiv can get approval from Upper Swiecziema concerning this alteration that'd be good. The reason being we wouldn't want him and his partner getting by bamboozled if they don't know about the request, and one day all of the sudden they look at the map and have unexpected neighbors.

I give my approval as the size increase does not affect our current national relations. From Ivernia's perspective it's ''already doomed'' in a manner of speaking. The extra land is not a ''game-changer'' for our relations.

I understand where a fellow large nation like Upper and Lower Swiezciema might have to give their blessing however.

I am curious why you and Xen both supported it on the IRC, but now you are walking back on that and inventing hurdles? Why didn't you mention this before?

It's not about inventing things or not supporting this, because I do and agree with the reasoning, it is about making sure the Mezhist Union players are aware of the expansion. This expansion potentially shifts the perspective or policies they had towards your nation, so it would be ideal and safe for all if they were informed of it and had the chance to discuss it if they choose to.

Most likely it will turn out that they are fine with it and are looking forward to having an active neighbor, but I as the mapmaker or Xenn as the admin shouldn't make that decision for them on the IRC or Skype without Zalo or Jose having their say on a major change.

I would have appreciated if when the idea was originally brought up you told me something to the effect of "I have no problem with this, but ask them first" instead of telling me you had no problems with it, waiting a few days then telling me. Waiting until just before the latest map update, when I had every reason (before now) to believe it would be added, is yanking my chain in the cruelest possible way.

How do I get a plot on the map. It's all so confusing :(

In the first post you can read how to get on the map - which also will get you on the globe! Basically show us where you want to be on the map and it will happen. Make sure to read the new , too. :)

I assume there's an ignore mode to what I suggested, Kyiv, or did you just not notice it?

Howdy Bogan. Typically you just apply for a map stop you would like in this thread. Use paint or some photo-editor to show/shade the area on the spot you want. Or even just explain it's location very clearly.

However I would recommened posting a factbook here first:

Explain your nation and your ethnicity and your culture etc etc. From your news posts I am guessing a french-like nation? Then perhaps somewhere in Germania? That's the area Ivernia, Franken and Potenza are in. I believe you'd be somewhere around Potenza would be best but I could be wrong on that.

Finally I recommed just posting and doing some more RP as well before you apply for a map spot. Just shape out your nation a little bit more.

I wrongly assumed you knew that was part of the process, so I'm sorry that I didn't explain things better.

Edit: As a caveat to this, when we get that confirmation from one of them then we'll get it on the map first thing - you won't have to wait a few weeks to see it come to fruition.

I'm also sorry if I gave you the wrong impression - I thought that ever since the Frescanian colony issue it would have been common knowledge. I hope that this doesn't discourage you.

Too late for me.

Try writing this shit down though. So these kinds of things are avoided in the future.

I've added a sentence to the first post in the thread explaining the application process that clarifies the practice:

COLONIES & CUSTOM ALTERATIONS

All applications to expand one’s map spot, either territorial annexation or colonial establishments, need to support them through this application process. For colonial applications a link to the thread/s that establish the background and general out-of-character effort of the colony also need to be submitted. If the alteration affects other nations/players, for example shared borders or abrupt proximity, then you must open a discussion or somehow get expressed approval for the map alteration from the affected player(s).

Location :-
Name of Colony :-
Name of Primary Country :-
Established History :-

Underlined part is the new sentence^. This was unfortunately not written in from the ported rules I got from the Nonsuch era, who ported over mostly from the Coro era, though I've operated with the understanding of that notion this entire time. Again, I'm sorry that I didn't explain that aspect of expanding your map spot.

It's important to get approval from your neighbors though, official written law or not, because otherwise the expanding nation (in your case, and in other cases) abruptly re-defines the landscape their neighbors had in mind. I hope you understand that aspect of this, what the expansion does to those around you.

Thanks for the tips. I was wondering where to post a factbook
However I would recommened posting a factbook here first:

! Start a new thread. Look at other factbooks already posted to get an idea of what they should look like - however you won't be expected to write as much starting off! :p

Example factbooks:
Ivernia:
Attreyu:
Great Engellex:

Moved the Bogan - Ivernia sidebar to declutter the request thread. Welcome to the forum, by the way.

Well, Jose hasn't said anything concerning the matter, which I messaged to him as soon as I saw it. I don't see any problem with it.

I believe Eiffelland made a request to correct that Danzig issue by having sea access in the south-east of Danzig, which was always historically the case (it's a city state after all).

Right, it was here:

So @ , do you want a direct overlay of a border layout from an older version of the map - or would you want to go in to paint or wherever you can to draw it yourself?

Thank you @Nichstein for reminding me. :applause:
