Although Sinhai has great potential we, as well as all truly democratic nations, are worried about the future of the nation. We agree with our Vangalan allies that the exclusion of the Northern areas in the referendum is unacceptable. People of a fellow war-torn nation, do not repeat past mistakes.

We'd like to commend General Phiyada and his panel for creating a smooth path towards betterness for Sinhai. We pray all should go in order for our neighbours to the south.

In order to comprehend the magnitude of the change that the new Constitution represents, one must understand the background upon which this change will be created. The Union of Sinhai was a nation created from struggle to survive that struggle, and with the unification of the nation the Union itself needed to be created.

Through the years of 1943 to 1950, a hardfought struggle was waged between Communist and Fascist paramilitary forces, each of who struggled to solicit assistance from the nations military, the SDF. The SDF contented itself to defending it's own assets and large civilian centers, while paramilitaries fought each other throughout the countryside. An odd peace held between the two factions in military jurisdiction, sometimes broken by small surges of violence. In 1947, the SDF sided with the Fascist Unity Party, dislodging elements of the People's Independence movement from the SDF strongholds in the South. However, PIP forces, aided by international Communist assistance, managed to hold their ground in the North, establishing a now defunct proto-state.

Because of the estranged relationship between the Unity Party and the SDF, cooperation between the two was the result not of direct collaboration, but the result of strong diplomacy that prevented the SDF from removing the Unity Party from power. The rise of Marjhan Visariya to the Presidency saw a unique and integral connection between the military and the government, and with the passing of the late President and the rise of the military interim government, military officials are permitting a new document that will solidify government control over the military once and for all.

The old Unity Party represented citizens who provided civil and military service, were consistently employed, and did their duty for their nation. However, because of this government mandated segregation, a greater rich-poor divide was created that saw the perpetuation of the peasant farmer 'class', one which has grown to become a chronic ailment of the nation. Despite this, cost of living remains extremely low proportional to cost of living, only fractions of the cost of other nations in the world, while traditionally maintaining much higher security.

The new Constitution is fundamentally important - not only for political plurality, but for the massive expansion of representation among all demographics; the government will no longer discriminate based upon ethnicity, religion, or employment. These steps will allow government assistance programs to reach out to a much larger society; an idea that the military has intended for the coming civilian government to accept as the duty of the Republic.

The path to the future has been laid through the mistakes and bloodshed of the past, measures with good intentions designed simply to continue the existence of the State; however the time for half-measures has passed, and tomorrow the nation will take the first step to, as one, vote on an issue that will directly affect their lives.
