Reports of Carentanian Intervention in Sinhai Investigation
Reports have come from sources within the international media that the Communist state of Carentania, colloquially known in the Sinese diplomatic circles as the "Red Champion", will be sending military vessels to prevent a Sinese investigation into the true nature of the "scientific vessel" which was sunk earlier this week after being suspected of association with terrorist forces.

Despite having acknowledged a lack of evidence, and being requested to provide more by several nations, an intervention by the Carentanian military could deter SDF forces from conducting their own investigation, despite the fact that international observers are permitted.

When asked about a possible situation with Vangalan and Carentanian vessels, the SNDF had little to say. However, the Unity Party has a history of hard ball politics with Communist forces and will not likely back down easily in the face of martial threat.

Vangalan Prisoners Treated Too Nice?
Critics of Unity party policy have questioned the detainment policy being provided to Vangalans, wondering if such a policy is a "waste of money" or an ill-covered attempt to prevent the international community from claiming unfair treatment of Vangalan prisoners.

Currently, 36 Vangalans sailors, of which seven have sustained significant injuries, are being housed in a reserved luxury resort on the eastern coast on Sinhai. The luxury resort is typically used for high-class guests, but has been acquired by the Unity Party for the stated purpose of keeping the Vangalan detainees as far away from PIP-affiliated areas as possible. Many within the Unity Party have also mentioned that such a location is ideal for an amicable re-education of Communists and introduction to a truly rich lifestyle. Though several Vangalans have not coped well with the lavishness of the resort, others are growing quite well accustomed to the everyday service provided by the five-star hotel and spa.

The seven Vangalans who have received significant injuries are receiving special treatment to ensure that they will recover from their wounds in time to enjoy the pleasures that their peers are enjoying themselves, though some psychologists have jokingly noted that the injured Vangalans would represent a nice "control" group for a study of peaceful reeducation and de-Communization.

Meanwhile, investigation into the prisoners actions off the coast of Vangala is underway, with several leads into the destination of the small craft having been found when two small, fast craft were found beached and abandoned. The vessels were hastily left in small coves, and were found by aerial patrol conducted by the SNDF. No contact with the illegal Vangalan immigrants have been made, and the SDF will continue land investigations. All land routes to and from the area are expected to have increased monitoring and checkpoints.

Elections Begin for National Assembly
Citizen Councils throughout the nation have been ordered to elect from among their peers Assemblymen which will comprise the first National Assembly in Sinhai history to be formed without an active Presidium. Discussions among several early elected Assemblymen have suggested the formal disbanding of the government organ which attempted to reverse the pro-Democratic reforms, and replacing it with a Commission with similar supervisory powers; but directly elected from the National Assembly itself.

The National Assembly will comprise 250 seats, with every 2 Assemblymen and women representing a Citizen Council. Participation in Citizen Councils s mandatory for all citizens and is considered a civic duty, failure by a citizen to participate in these current elections will not be looked highly upon. Ahremen Arkhan, still de facto head of state until the recovery of Marjhan Visariya, has stated that failure to participate in these historic elections could be construed as an unwillingness to participate in or an apathetic approach to Sinese history, culture, and unity, and are potential grounds for revocation of citizenship.

The SDF is currently still pursuing many members of the Unity Party which have been associated with the anti-Democratic element within the Unity Party, and the SDF has stated that trials on high profile suspects are to begin by May 1. Low profile targets are likely to just be categorized and monitored for future seditious activity.

Car Bomb Detonates in Sai Yok, 16 Dead
Amid morning traffic and residents commuting to work, PIP insurgents renewed their attacks on Sai Yok through the use of car bombs. The attack, which occurred on Route 219, claimed the lives of 16 and wounded over twenty others. Reports have stated that the car, or rather truck, was laden with high explosives and detonated on a highway underneath an overpass. The detonation destroyed the overpass, and the following destruction caused much damage.

The SDF has noted that the majority of damage is due to weak infrastructure in the region, which was largely constructed under an impoverished Communist regime. "Many of the roads are old and brittle, and this overpass was likely destroyed simply because the Communists didn't have enough masons to build a bridge well," stated Unity Party officials.

Whether this attack is the beginning of a renewed PIP insurgency in Sai Yok, former capital of the Communist fraction of Sinhai, is yet to be seen. The SDF, however, is not taking any chances, and is already moving a total of thirty thousand troops to the city and outlying areas to prevent insurgents from easily slipping into, and out of, the city.

North Sinhai continues to rebuild after decades of neglect, and though foreign investment has helped lay down the foundation for numerous hospitals and schools, a renewed Communist insurgency is likely to stall Northern reconstruction and potentially damage support for the Unity Party in the area.

First off, we would like to send our prayers and deepest wishes of hope for those who have lost friends and family in the latest terrorist attack in Sinhai. Though we hope this isn't an act of violence from the communist insurgents, another conflict in the torn union seems inevitable. The Scottish government is prepared to take action to protect the innocent in Sinhai - the real victims. The Scottish Guard is prepared to deploy humanitarian aid workers as well as peace-keeping soldiers to help rebuild whatever need be done at the discretion of the Unity Party of Sinhai.

National Assembly Elections Finished
All 250 seats of the National Assembly have been elected by Citizen Councils, and normality has resumed. Though officially the SDF has not yet yielded control to a civilian government, the National Assembly has begun business as usual once again.

However, the issues of now are far graver than those before the April Crisis. Inflation, an economy in danger, increased violence against minorities, and renewed insurgency in Sai Yok have all contributed to a darker mood present in this newly elected National Assembly.

Marjhan Visariya has been released from Sri Rama Executive Hospital, and is expected to meet with the new National Assembly to discuss issues at hand. Her meeting and speech is expected to address the issues and set goals for the new regime.

Insurgency in Sai Yok Renewed, 8 Attacks in Two Days
Insurgency in Sai Yok has renewed this weekend, with Communist attacks on SDF convoys as well as local police and several public transportation sites have claimed the lives of at least forty Sinese citizens. Sinese Defense Forces have engaged in several battles with insurgent forces, whose numbers are far higher than predicted. Unusually, a large number of minorities, namely Khalistani's, have participated in these attacks.

SDF forces on on the look out and have established perimeters and roadblocks to check names and identifications, however a number of insurgents have been identified as Sinese citizens, forcing officials to question whether or not the PIP has been appealing to elements within a structure once thought entirely loyal to the Unity Party.

Unity Party officials, however, dismissed these and cited newer streamlined methods for integrating North Sinhai residents into citizenship, but failed to address questions concerning the possible infiltration of the National Assembly by PIP sympathizers.

Series of Rapes Shocks Sai Yok, Political Uproar
Two rapes have shocked the community of Sai Yok over the weekend, as intelligent units in the Police have become glaringly aware of a disturbing social element inherent in the two violent acts. The two rapes were committed in two seperate locations within Sai Yok and show a disturbing, yet growing, element of anti-Khalistani sentiment among a minority of the populace.

The rapes of three Khalistani girls took place in two separate incidents. The first saw two Khalistani girls, aged 14 and 15, raped repeatedly by no less than six other boys in a primary school classroom in Sai Yok. The second incident involved a Khalistani women in her upper twenties who was raped by no less than two Sinese men in the back of a bus. All three victims are being treated at Sai Yok Regional Hospital, and police have been alerted to what may be a more sinister social threat growing in Sai Yok.

Experts say that a reactionary and counter-communist social movement has been slowly growing within Sai Yok for nearly a decade, heavily suppressed by the People's Independence Party; however with recent attacks on Sinese in Sai Yok by communist insurgents, groups have been rising to counter issues addressed by Communism. With a high minority of Khalistani and an influx of Khalistani humanitarian aid workers who are assisting with various projects in North Sinhai, anti-Khalistani sentiment and pan-Sinese nationalism has risen to alarming levels. Experts suspect that the two rape events are likely associated with anti-Khalistani sentiment, and expect further attacks.

The Sai Yok Police Department does not believe that these attacks are connected with any organized movement, but will be increasing its patrols of majority Khalistani neighborhoods in order to increase security for minorities. A large number of the Khalistani in Sai Yok are citizens of the Union, which has increased polarity in the recent elections, revealing a subtle extremist element to Citizen Council representatives in the National Assembly. This schism will continue to be watched by UBN.

Anti-Communist Protest in Sai Yok Results in Gunfight
Anti-Communist protests in Sai Yok were held today to rally the citizenry and increase awareness of the increasing violence inherent in the pro-PIP insurgency that renewed in the city recently. While initially peaceful and monitored by Sai Yok Police forces, PIP insurgents fired several mortars into the protest.

Reports from various sources suggest that anti-Communist protesters fled the scene, while armed citizens near the location of the PIP mortars engaged the insurgents in a lengthy gun battle, with Sai Yok Police fighting alongside citizen militia.

The battle saw over fifty casualties, including nineteen fatalities. The insurgency within Sai Yok is expected to increase in violence, and many intelligence analysts believe that a connection between PIP and the Vangalan Communist Party is strong. However, investigation into the true nature of the Vangalan freighter off the coast has as of yet not been discerned.

Dive Team to Secure Vangalan Wreck
A dive team, launched on Friday night, will be ready to investigate the nature of the Vangalan wreck by Monday, weather conditions permitting. While many within the Unity Party believe that the Vangalan vessel was supplying the People's Independence Party with weapons, the recent severity of the insurgency within Sai Yok suggests that the Vangalan's may have deeper ties to the PIP insurgency.

SNDF has increased their presence around the wreckage to a total of two destroyers, with the SNDFS Moksha, the flagship helicopter carrier of the SNDF, sitting within the national waters of Sinhai in a supporting role.

Vangala warns the Sinhai Union not to send diving teams to interfere with the ship's wreckage and the Revolutionary Naval Force will be sending ships to assist our Carentanian allies in securing the sunken freighter.

The Kryobaijani Revolutionary Council would warn the government of Sinhai to avoid making such strident, broad caricatures of European communists, as the UFN insists on invoking the tired trope of all leftist forces in Europe acting in league with one another.

We, of the Cortonan Republic, find that the Vangalan Ship crossed into Sinhai Waters. Although, we do believe there were better alternatives then to fire upon the vessel. Ultimately, we are concerned over the fleets amassing on the wreckage site.

In an attempt to avoid conflict, the Cortonan Republic is requesting that we, a neutral nation having no preference towards communists or capitalists, send a dive team to the wreckage to discover the contents of the Vangalan ship. We are unbiased and no country can claim we are working for the interests of another. Should our request be turned down, we understand, but we do advise the nations this effects to put this into careful consideration.

The Cortonans can not unilaterally declare that the Vangalan ship crossed into Cortonan waters, because that is not factual. Even the Sinhai Union has admitted that the ship was within international waters. We demand Cortona to acknowledge the difference between national and international waters and issue a formal apology for this gross misrepresentation of undisputed facts.

Due to the crisis in Firenze, it is possible that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was looking into outdated or misguided information. We do fully apologize for the inaccurate accusation regarding the Vangalan Ship entering Sinhai Waters. We know very well the difference between national and international waters.

Regardless of this, we still stand as a neutral party to execute the dive on the Vangalan Ship.

Vangala again rejects international demands for an independent or neutral diving team to be sent to investigate the wreckage as there is no substance or evidence to support the slanderous allegations made by the Sinhai Union, who have only justified their illegal and immoral attack with inflammatory propaganda and rhetoric.

We reiterate our calls for the innocent Vangalan sailors to be released. We also ask the families of the dead to be compensated by the Unity Front government and a formal apology be made for this act of state terrorism.

On Behalf of the Sinhai Union

Would the Communist states please enlighten the Sinhai Union: If a murder is committed just outside of the national territorial waters of one of your nations, and is inexorably related to the law and sovereignty of your nation, would you arrest or release the suspects?

Regardless, Vangalan prisoners will not be released until a dive team has successfully been launched and has found and searched the wreckage. If this is unacceptable, then the Vangalan prisoners will be facing an indefinite stay.

Sincerely,
Arun Iyengar

The Prime Minister of Boluxia believes that the Sinhai Union should be allowed to monitor the dive and ensure that their territorial waters are safe as long as they do not prevent the other nations from completing the task.

The Volga Republic supports our Vangalan allies in this matter and demand that the Sinhai Union release the crew of the vessel immediately and that all compensation and apologies demanded by the Vangalan government be made. Until such time that the Union complies, the Volga Republic will dispatch naval vessels to assist our allies in securing the wreck site.

Sinese Naval Defense Force Recalls to National Waters
OL Arkhan has noted that the importance of the Vangalan freighter is still a critical issue, but that any evidence aboard the vessel was likely destroyed by the Vangalans, or transported off by any of the vessels which were transporting materials to the coast.

The Sinese government, however, continues to refuse to negotiate with the Communist governments, and is looking for a third-party to assist in negotiations between the Unity Party and the Communist states.

The Unity Party finds that the use of armed naval vessels in the securing of a wreckage in neutral waters under suspicion of crime against another nation, however, is suspicious enough to warrant continued detainment of the Vangalan suspects. "If the Vangalan's had nothing to hide, then they wouldn't have brought in other nations to posture for war on their behalf. We're not interested in conducting investigations when the lives of our citizens is at risk, if the Communists want honest negotiations then they'll find a third party to host talks," stated officials within the Unity Party earlier today.

Violence in Sai Yok Increases
Violence in Sai Yok continues to escalate as it has for several days, with renewed Communist insurgency spreading to a number of small towns outside of Sai Yok, hinting towards a more endemic and organized Communist problem in the north.

SDF forces have increased their presence in Sai Yok to approximately fifty thousand troopers, and are looking to mobilize a much larger force to secure the city itself. However, with increasing anti-Khalistani violence, anti-Communist protests, Communist insurgency, and bomb threats, it looks as though the city itself is collapsing into general panic. Those few established elites within Sai Yok have begun hiring personal militias to protect their high-profile assets and anti-Communist sentiment, not only in Sai Yok but throughout the nation, is growing increasingly volatile. Several protests have already lashed out at Unions located in other regions of the country, and several terrorist threats have been made in areas such as Sai Yok and the Debal Docks.

President to Speak With National Assembly
The President is set to speak with the National Assembly and address matters of utmost concern. Despite still officially being run by the SDF, the Sinhai Union is once against being run by a civilian government, if only for now by de jure. OL Arkhan has stated that she will officially hand down governance once the President and National Assembly have come to terms and a new, Presidium-free arrangement has been made.

The President, however, has many matters to address, including increasing Communist insurgency, anti-minority violence, a worsening economy, and international politics with Communist nations which, to date, the Unity Party has maintained a low-to-no talk policy against.

We welcome the decision to withdraw the Sinese Naval Defence Force from the site of the ship's sinking and allow Vangala and her allies to secure the wreckage. However, this crisis will not be over until the sailors held captive are released and then negotiations on compensation can begin.

Sinese Market to Open in New Directions
The Department of Industry, pressured by many government institutions and citizen appeals, is looking to expand itself in new directions. Already talks with Jizhou are expected to be initiated, which will discuss the possibility of creating jobs in Jizhou to support both Jizhou and Sinhai. Other recent moves have been to grant work visa's to more than five thousand Sinese citizens who have requested access to the Federal Republic of Boluxia. These citizens come from numerous walks in life, though the large majority attained their citizenship through martial service. Additionally, the Department of Industry has refused to deny Sinese banks from increasing investments in Boluxia, along with a large number of other foreign nations such as Oltremare, Suionia, and Oikawa.

The Sinese Independent Banks have begun looking to invest in foreign markets increasingly given the volatility of domestic markets, which has further damaged the domestic Sinese market. Banks, however, remains strong.

Sai Yok Insurgents Attack Primary School, Over 120 Children Hostage
Communist insurgents associated with the People's Independence Party attacked a primary school within Sai Yok earlier today. Reports have been unable to identify the exact number of insurgents which are responsible for the attack, but several escapees have noted that a several of them are Viet or Khalistani, though the majority are Sinese.

The attack took place shortly before the primary schools nutrition period, and a number of armed gunmen blocked off the entrances and herded the majority of the students into an auditorium. Eye witnesses suggest that the number of children is likely around 120, though as many as two hundred children between the age of six and ten and twenty four teachers are unaccounted for.

Sinese Defense Forces have fully mobilized and besieged the schools, and a tense situation is being created as SDF desperately attempt to make contact with insurgents to secure a speedy release to the young student hostages.
